Hands down the best breakfast I’ve had since my celiac diagnosis last September!!! I ordered the $14.95 breakfast special that they had advertised and was so very impressed! My waitress, Nicole, was very knowledgeable and even explained to me that the food and toast are made in a different area, and they use a dedicated toaster. The bacon was thick and delicious, the potatoes were perfection and included large pieces of fresh bell pepper and onion, the eggs were prepared exactly to my liking, and the slice of gluten free bread was tasty. Overall, an excellent experience and one I can’t wait to repeat!

Portions are huge. Had the pork ribs with rice and veggies. The ribs fell off the bone and had a unique Hawaiian sauce.

The food is good but the portions are way too big. If there are half sizes available pick those. Huge portions. They have a gf menu but no dedicated kitchen area. It is across from the ocean but the view is still good. Service is extremely slow.

Our favorite place for breakfast. The servers are all knowledgeable and they have a separate GF toaster and GF prep area. They take celiac seriously. We love this place.

Thought it would be a safe place due to good reviews and seperate menu. Everything was tasting great until I found some macaroni elbows in my “gluten free” dish.

Quite a few GF options and our waiter was super knowledgeable! I ordered the Hawaiian Ono (note: it’s cooked medium rare) and my celiac mom ordered the monchung and risotto. Both were delicious and the restaurant has a nice view of the ocean. Neither of us got sick.

There is a separate GF menu and servers were attentive and understanding. We had an issue with one meal that I was going to share with my daughter with Celiac. It came with a scoop of macaroni salad. Asked the server if macaroni was gluten free, she said it must be because she was specific about the GF order with the kitchen, but it didn’t taste GF to me. Server went back to the kitchen to double check and came back apologizing that kitchen made a mistake and macaroni salad is not GF. They immediately offered to remake the dish but we opted to just have my daughter eat from the side that was not touching or close to macaroni and she was fine.
Other time we ate there we had no issues. Food tasted good.

We ate her three times. Both dinners we were brought a GF menu after mentioning in the reservation. Both the steak and ribs were fantastic. The omelet was very fresh. Service was very good and friendly. Even a small mistake was rectified quickly for the non-GF diner, who ate two delicious seafood dishes. The open air atmosphere across from the beach and pier give plenty of peaceful people watching opportunities.

Went for breakfast with fast service. GF options were available upon request per the menu, but waiter was very unknowledgeable regarding gluten. He asked me “what is gluten again” and “this should be okay.” I asked the waiter to please speak to the chef regarding things that I could/could not eat due to my allergy/requests. He quickly went to the chef to ask. I decided to play it safe with an omelet, GF toast and rice. No issues after and alright food overall. I was told a Gf menu is available for lunch/dinner. Highly recommend that education occurs for all staff regarding allergies, specifically gluten.

I am celiac and the only GF member of my family. We ate at the Fish Hopper to celebrate my brother’s finishing the Iron Man. I think I recall that GF items were clearly marked on the menu. Our waiter seemed a little undertrained, and not very familiar with what generally contains gluten and what does not. That was not bad, because he was happy to ask the chef. Much of the menu is fresh seafood and vegetables, so it didn’t seem like too much of a stretch to add GF preparation, but there was no way for us to be certain. The food was great and I had no reaction afterward, though I usually don’t have bad reactions even when I am exposed. So it’s hard to give an overall safety rating, but it seemed pretty safe.

Separate GF menu. Food was good & view was great. Had the broiled chicken with veggies and a mashed potato- a little bland but felt safe. The only GF dessert they have is creme brûlée.

Several dishes are great. Everything is overpriced, food is ok. Several options.
In person dining was a worse experience than takeout. Had to send back salads with croutons and brown lettuce.
This place could be great with some fixing.

Separate gluten free menu! My daughter felt so special. She got the beef tenderloin and shrimp skewers with mashed potatoes and bok choy and couldn’t stop smiling. She loved it. Options were plentiful, waitstaff knowledgeable, open-air dining by the water. Most of the family (7 out of 9) liked their meals, too.

We ate at this restaurant four times during our stay in Kona. The crab omelet and crab Benedict on gluten free toast were wonderful! My dinner entrees were also delicious. I also enjoyed the GF chocolate cake and Creme brûlée. I am a celiac and had no problems at all. I appreciated the care they took to provide my delicious gluten free meals.

The restaurant has indoor seating only but it's open air with a lot of fans so felt pretty safe eating here. View of the ocean which was great. They have a separate gluten free menu with most of their items available which is a huge plus. The staff was very knowledgeable about celiac disease and I had no issues with the food or drinks. The food was decent but I would say what my group tried didn't have a ton of flavors.

Ate here twice this week. Breakfast- omelette, potatoes, fruit and then burger-no bun and mashed potatoes. No reactions to either meal. Server made sure kitchen was aware.

The staff is helpful asks chief if they don’t know about a dish. Have a wonderful gf dessert cake similar to German chocolate cake. Kahala pork is excellent.
Yes
Staff was really friendly and they had “gluten free” options but the gluten free poke nachos had me so sick. Convinced they added regular soy sauce to mine not GF. They were so lovely there but I wouldn’t go back.

Server wonderful. Very knowledgable and checked with chef for what he didn't know. Food was outstanding!

Our son has Celiac and this was our first family vacation since his diagnosis. This establishment was recommended. Their menu was not labeled with gluten free options, however, upon him informing our wait staff of the situation, they were very knowledgeable and helpful. His food was very good and no symptoms post meal. I would recommend and we would return.
Yes
Server gave me a little attitude when I asked him to tell the kitchen I had an allergy. He said that’s why it has the gf symbol next to the item on the menu. I didn’t get sick but I only ordered a basic salad. Not sure if I’d trust them again
Great food and atmosphere! Very knowledgeable about food allergies with a easy to understand menu. Best food of the trip so far! I high recommend this place to all seafood lovers!
Yes
Server was very nice but did not know or understand Celiac. I got very sick shortly after eating breakfast here.

The wait staff is very knowledgeable, however double check your food before eating as the kitchen staff may not be as informed. The food was excellent from drinks to apps to mains to dessert!

Great GF menu, great location and great food. I highly recommend.
Menu is well labeled for GF options. They even have a GF German Chocolate cake.

Accommodating but out of GF bread for toast and Benedict option at breakfast.
Went for Breakfast during the Ironman World Championships. They were very busy, but able and willing to accommodate. My daughter and I had fried eggs with a side of fruit with bacon. The bacon is cooked on a sheet pan in the oven. Could not eat the potatoes because of cross contamination. Margaret was our server and she was great!
Yes
Decent breakfast and had gluten free toast available.
I have eaten here several times. They are ok with most items.Servers vary on their knowledge and can be a little "flip" DO NOT get their "gluten free" cake. One of the servers claimed to be celiac and said she ate it and did not get a reaction. I have never been so sick in my life. completely doubled over in pain.

Great menu. Friendly staff.
Although there is a gf dinner menu there is NO gf lunch menu! The server wasn't able to offer anything beyond a few salads, so we chose to go elsewhere. It may be different in the evening but this is not a great gf lunch spot.
Open air restaurant in a great location right on Alii Drive with nice view of the bay. Friendly service and good gluten free options - I had the surf and turf kabobs with coconut rice pudding for dessert, yum! One of the staff has celiac so they are very careful about gluten free food prep. Restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, with good happy hour in the bar. Lots of great options. Dine here frequently!
Yes
0/5 Not gluten free friendly, even with a dedicated menu. $20 for a shrimp and steak kebab. 3 small (frozen) shrimp, one of which had breading on one side and made me sick. Steak was WELL done and dry, after being ordered medium rare. $10 cocktail with almost no alcohol. Manager comp'ed my food and drink and was nice about it, but that didn't save me a full 14 hours of misery.
