I don’t have any concrete way of knowing what the trigger was because I have both celiac and a dairy allergy, both of which I discussed with the staff. I was violently ill within minutes. I do suspect the issue was dairy cross contamination but if they not preventing cross contamination of a disclosed dairy allergy, then I’m also not confident that they are careful enough to prevent cross contamination from gluten. Unfortunately this was our first stop in Solvang and it ended our trip immediately.

Very accommodating, just let them know. The gluten free bun I had on my burger was pretty good. I didn’t ask, but other users on this app and Google mention that fries are made in a separate fryer.

I had a great meal. I had a hamburger on a lettuce wrap with a side salad. The host told me they had a dedicated fryer but the server told me they did not have a dedicated fryer so I opted against the fries just to be safe. I’m not sure what the confusion was there but I was out with friends and didn’t want to have a long drawn out conversation about fryers. I would definitely go back.

I had a veggie patty with lettuce wrap. They were out of GF buns. Fries are hand cut and in a fryer by themselves. Nothing special but was good enough and I didn’t get sick. I’m also a vegetarian so was a little limited. The server mentioned several meat options that were celiac safe. My gluten eating husband had a great Ruben sandwich. My gluten eating son had fish and chips that he said were also good.

I had the chicken club with fries. Quizzed our server before ordering. Fries are cooked in a dedicated fryer and the bun was gluten free. Had ranch dressing for the fries. Everything was excellent and no reaction. I’m a very sensitive celiac. For those who are NOT celiacs, try the chicken pot pie. My wife had it and said it was fabulous! Service was slow but attentive and friendly. Great place!

Server was very knowledgeable about what was celiac safe, and the food was great. I had the spicy chicken wings, fries, and corned beef. I’m a very sensitive celiac and didn’t get sick!

Maybe the tastiest meal I had in 3 weeks in USA. They are knowledgeable about gluten and they can make sandwiches with gluten free bread/buns. They also had the shepherd's pie which is from gf ingredients, and the waiter said that he can't garantie that there is no contamination. I took a risk, and it was fantastic, and was ok after.

Sensitive Celiac and did not get sick. So delicious! Dedicated fryer. Loved I could have appetizers! Had chicken wings, truffle fries/wedges which were amazing and the club on the gf bun. Staff was very careful and understood and quadruple checked everything. BRING YOUR OWN STRAW THEY HAVE PAPER ONES may contain gluten in them.

I got the Reuben sandwich. Highly recommend. And the corn beef was amazing. Almost life-changing. Great gluten-free bun. Fries we’re ok. I had a GF cider. Great experience!

They can make their burgers and sandwiches GF with GF bun. Separate dedicated fryer for food of the gods (fries) so we get to happily enjoy thick cut Fries! No separate GF menu. Upon discussion staff understood cross contamination prevention measures. Ruben is hand shaved and tasty. Best of all, this super sensitive human did not get sick. Great place to unwind with a decent meal in Solvang.

It was delicious and incredible! The fries were like potato wedges, which is my favorite. The Reuben was on a gf burger bun, and the meat was thickly cut and tender. Super delicious!! I’ve been wanting a Reuben for a while but cannot get one where I live.

When asked about the GF menu, the waitress said that any burger can be ordered with a GF bun, and the fries are in a dedicated fryer. So if you want a burger and fries, this is your place to be. My burger was amazing, and the fries were thick and the best I’ve had in a long time!

I had the dubliner burger gluten free lettuce wrapped and although it was messy it was absolutely delicious. So juicy and flavorful. And with that I ordered the truffle Parmesan fries. They have a gluten free fryer and I was so excited to have truffle fries again because I haven’t had them since before I was diagnosed. They were very tasty as well. Great service. The owner is knowledgeable, his mother had celiac.

They have gluten free buns and french fries are gluten free. The burger and fries was fine, but the bacon was the texture of jerky. Quick service and centrally located.
Yes
They have gf buns and fries. Pretty good meal.
Yes
Great burgers and fries. Gluten free buns are the real deal. Authentic Irish pub, reminded us of our visit to Ireland.
A little pricey, but definitely safe lettuce wrapped burgers and fries.
Yes
Very accommodating .. dedicated fryer
We found this tavern on the Find Me G-Free app and decided to try it while on our anniversary trip to Solvang. I have a severe gluten allergy, so finding somewhere safe to eat is always a challenge.
Fitzpatrick’s Tavern hands down has the best burgers we have ever had. They have gluten free buns made by a local bakery, but I prefer mine lettuce wrapped. And the bakery that makes them has some mixed reviews for gluten procedures. So just be cautious if you’re Celiac or super sensitive to cross contamination.
They have hand cut fries cooked in a dedicated fryer, but will sub them out for salad.
My husband had the Dubliner on a fresh bakery bun with hand cut fries. Their produce was so fresh too. My husband also had the chicken club but preferred the burgers.
They also had traditional Irish food like Guinness stew, shepherds pie & homemade cheesecakes. I wish I could’ve had them.
This place was so good, so careful with my allergy, and the service was so amazing we went back 3 times while on our trip. Thank goodness I never got sick from gluten, that’s so important to people like us!
This is definitely our new place to eat when we go back soon.

Stopped in to eat. The waitress was very accommodating and knowledgeable. They have a dedicated fryer for fries. The food was really good and we did not get cross contaminated.
Yes
Great burger and fries!! Had the spicy jalapeño one and it was awesome. Bun is just ok, but it’s wonderful to enjoy a great burger at a restaurant. Waiter was super friendly and confirmed fryer was separate. Husband had the Shepard’s pie and it was huge and very tasty. It’s on the lunch menu now and we got it at 1 pm. Fun, pub atmosphere.
Yes
I did have the gluten free burger and the fries. I was told the fries were in a dedicated fryer but I got sick shortly after. Ask a lot of questions and be careful if you’re very sensitive
Yes
I got a hamburger son a gf bun and French fries. ( fries have dedicated fryer). the service was excellent.
They do offer gf bread now for an additional $1.50 charge. The shepherds pie is only available after 4pm but our server spoke to the kitchen and let us have it at 12pm so extra points there. However, I wasn't impressed with the shepherds pie. The meat was ground beef and the $7 salad was basically a side salad and didn't come with citrus vinaigrette as advertised on the menu. The service was friendly but nothing above mediocre.
Friendly staff chef came out to speak with me. Had a great burger on gluten free bread tasted great
Yes
Friendly staff. Gluten-Free bread was available today. Fryer is shared with gluten containing food, and you can swap for a salad.
Yes
Fantastic & delicious I had Shepard's pie it was so delicious I ate the whole thing My hubby who is GF as well had sirloin steak with mashed potatoes he said the sirloin stake was very close to perfect. Very nice knowledgeable staff. It deserves five stars*****

Delicious corned beef and cabbage plate with roasted baby potatoes, green beans and peas. Lovely presentation, cheerful service, all around excellent!
I went there based on the recommendation of this app, and ordered a burger. They confirmed that they usually have gluten free buns, but they were out. I'm not sure how often they are out, but that was a sad moment for me. Ordering the burger protein style was better than nothing and I would have to say the burger itself was wonderful and juicy. My fellow dinners (who were not gluten free) loved their meals as well. I also had fries with my burger and didn't have a GI reaction to any of the food. Although a gluten free bun would have made it a 5 star experience, overall it was pretty good.
Excellent burger, got it gluten and dairy free and didn't miss them. You can get a gluten free bun if you like but I can't do eggs either so plain for me. The angry Orchard hard cider is good as well! Enjoy
Great bun!!! Friendly service
