I’ve gone three times in two months and it’s been great every time. I tell them “allergy warning, I have celiac’s”. I order mine on lettuce (they do a really great job at wrapping the burger in lettuce), with everything on it.
I then inform them that my spouse would like a normal bacon burger on a bun. The staff has always reassured me and I hear them tell each other “allergy!” while cooking. They’ve always put my burger in a different bag marked “***ALLERGY***” and there was a red sticker on the tin foil of my burger.
If you’ve never been to a Five Guys, they have a very limited menu of just burgers (bacon, cheese, or plain) in three sizes, French fries (plain or Cajun), and milkshakes.
The only gluten items on the menu are the buns and malt. The chocolate shakes do not automatically come malted, so there’s never been a worry for me there.

No GF bun. Your choices are lettuce wraps or put your burger/sandwich middle in a bowl.
Was told the fries are the only thing fried in the fryer and are gf. After alerting them to an "allergy" (because it's easier to just go with it sometimes) when I asked for no bun on mine, they packaged the fries with my son's regular buger with the bun. I called to educate them about cross contamination and was told the staff would be retrained and I was offered a free meal. I went back in a week later to accept my free meal which mirrored my first meal and the EXACT same thing happened. Clearly no one was retrained. They offered me fresh fries that hadn't been touched and I reluctently accepted but I still got sick so my burger was not clear of cross contamination. I can't go back after this. It's pretty clear food allergies/sensitivities don't matter to them.

Their burgers are awesome! Just wish that they could come on a "good" GF, SF bun.
Excellent food. Bun-less burgers and fries are safe (dedicated GF fryer). Reliable and delicious. Staff is careful to avoid cross-contamination.

I appreciate that they always ask if my lettuce wrapped order is an allergy. Fries are the only thing in the fryer, so no worries about cross contamination.

The staff is very knowledgeable and will note down “Allergy” if you mention it for the lettuce wrap or bowl option. I’ve visited several times and haven’t gotten glutened. Fries are safe too
