Five Guys

5 guys is usually very good with cross contact avoidance measures. They have a gf fryer and will make you a Lettuce wrapped burger. Though I mentioned I have a "gluten allergy" it was not entered on my receipt. I watch the food prep team and noticed gloves were not changed. I spoke up and asked that they change their gloves, and was received warmly as they told me they would restart the whole prep process. I witnessed a team member inform the member who didn't mark the receipt "allergy" on how to do so and the importance of it. The food was delicious and I had no issues after eating it.

I appreciate that they always ask if my lettuce wrapped order is an allergy. Fries are the only thing in the fryer, so no worries about cross contamination.

I’ve gone three times in two months and it’s been great every time. I tell them “allergy warning, I have celiac’s”. I order mine on lettuce (they do a really great job at wrapping the burger in lettuce), with everything on it. I then inform them that my spouse would like a normal bacon burger on a bun. The staff has always reassured me and I hear them tell each other “allergy!” while cooking. They’ve always put my burger in a different bag marked “***ALLERGY***” and there was a red sticker on the tin foil of my burger.

If you’ve never been to a Five Guys, they have a very limited menu of just burgers (bacon, cheese, or plain) in three sizes, French fries (plain or Cajun), and milkshakes.

The only gluten items on the menu are the buns and malt. The chocolate shakes do not automatically come malted, so there’s never been a worry for me there.
