They were really good about looking up what was gluten free. They changed gloves and went out of their way to help me. Their grill has a separated side for buns and a dedicated frier for fries.

After already having a very poor experience at a nearby drive thru listed as celiac friendly, I read the raving reviews about 5 guys and their gluten free options. I cancelled my order and rushed to five guys because I was so excited for a burger in a lettuce wrap and fries (I swear they are like gold to a Celiac). I walked in and asked the man who addressed me about their amazing gluten free menu and he tells me that not only do theu not have a gluten free menu, but that they dont even ANY gluten free options.
No
The staff are very knowledgeable about gluten issues. As soon as you begin your order, mention that you are ordering with an allergen issue and they will make a note of it in the ticket (along with calling it out down the prep line).
The only thing you need to be aware of is if you are splitting a fry order with someone who is not order a gluten free option, you need to make it very clear you want the fries in a separate bag. We've had a few occasions where they oops and put the fries in with the regular burger. They immediately correct the issue by supplying a second, fresh batch of fries at no additional charge. Awesome service, great food!
Yes
The staff kept calling out that it was an allergy order and one person shepherded it through and people called out while they changed gloves and they said the fries were made separately and fresh. I had a choice of lettuce wrap or bowl for the burger and they put all the toppings in my lettuce wrap- a lot of lettuce- started by hand then switched to fork and knife!

Excellent food. Bun-less burgers and fries are safe (dedicated GF fryer). Reliable and delicious. Staff is careful to avoid cross-contamination.

I appreciate that they always ask if my lettuce wrapped order is an allergy. Fries are the only thing in the fryer, so no worries about cross contamination.

I’ve gone three times in two months and it’s been great every time. I tell them “allergy warning, I have celiac’s”. I order mine on lettuce (they do a really great job at wrapping the burger in lettuce), with everything on it.
I then inform them that my spouse would like a normal bacon burger on a bun. The staff has always reassured me and I hear them tell each other “allergy!” while cooking. They’ve always put my burger in a different bag marked “***ALLERGY***” and there was a red sticker on the tin foil of my burger.
If you’ve never been to a Five Guys, they have a very limited menu of just burgers (bacon, cheese, or plain) in three sizes, French fries (plain or Cajun), and milkshakes.
The only gluten items on the menu are the buns and malt. The chocolate shakes do not automatically come malted, so there’s never been a worry for me there.
