The manager at this specific store is excellent about preparing the burgers safely for celiac. They do have a lettuce wrap and than ask if it is for a gluten allergy. They will change their gloves and bag items separately. Also, the fries have a dedicated fryer so they are gluten free.

I talked to a guy there since I had heard the chain typically does gluten free well. He said they have no separate area and it would all be prepped on the same counters, etc. He said the best they could do is "keep an eye on it." They have a dedicated fryer so I was very disappointed that it didn't actually seem like a safe enough place to eat. I know from pre-diagnosis that their food is delicious! I am very disappointed I can't have it.

Excellent food. Bun-less burgers and fries are safe (dedicated GF fryer). Reliable and delicious. Staff is careful to avoid cross-contamination.

I appreciate that they always ask if my lettuce wrapped order is an allergy. Fries are the only thing in the fryer, so no worries about cross contamination.

I’ve gone three times in two months and it’s been great every time. I tell them “allergy warning, I have celiac’s”. I order mine on lettuce (they do a really great job at wrapping the burger in lettuce), with everything on it.
I then inform them that my spouse would like a normal bacon burger on a bun. The staff has always reassured me and I hear them tell each other “allergy!” while cooking. They’ve always put my burger in a different bag marked “***ALLERGY***” and there was a red sticker on the tin foil of my burger.
If you’ve never been to a Five Guys, they have a very limited menu of just burgers (bacon, cheese, or plain) in three sizes, French fries (plain or Cajun), and milkshakes.
The only gluten items on the menu are the buns and malt. The chocolate shakes do not automatically come malted, so there’s never been a worry for me there.
