Flower Child is one restaurant in the Phoenix metro area that I feel I can trust as a person with celiac disease. The food is great, very healthy, and they have a variety of gluten free dishes. When I go there all I have to do is say I have celiac disease and they take all the precautions necessary to keep me safe.
I had a very flavorful Glow Bowl: sweet potato noodles, veggies and sunflower butter. It reminded me of a pad Thai remix. For dessert I had a lemon muffin.
I had ordered with everything being labeled gluten free. Something was cross contaminated, as I found out the painful way. Therefore I no longer trust Flower Child. They used to be great for many years so I'm not sure if the kitchen education changed or something else happened. I just know that my old go to, has turned Flower Child into a never again because it wasn't safe for me.
Many healthy and yummy options, so many possibilities! They have a fun casual atmosphere.
Many delicious GF options here. We like that they strive for organic produce and serve GT'S Kombucha on tap. I usually get the salmon with glazed sweet potatoes and sautéed spinach. My kids get grilled chicken with mashed potatoes and Mac n cheese. All of their desserts are GF too!
All the gluten free food I have had here is great! They even have gluten free Mac and cheese!!
Place is ridiculous. Labels everything gluten free and then doesn’t disclose that broccoli comes with breadcrumbs and parmasean on door dash. Called and alerted that they should disclose that and got a “oh yeah I don’t know what to tell you”. Already eaten more than half of it before realizing what it was.
I've eaten in the restaurant at a different location and I've ordered delivery from this location multiple times. I have never gotten sick.
Their portions are really big, like I order the kids entree for my father. For myself, I usually get the shrimp meal with mashed potatoes and macaroni and cheese. I also get a side of their Kung Pao Cauliflower..... it is sooooo good!! They also have gluten free chocolate chip cookies, brownies, and chocolate pudding and they are all fantastic. I believe their menu changes a bit seasonally. Oh and they have awesome salads also.
The gluten free items are all marked and when I've dined in, the person taking the order has always been very knowledgeable. This is the kind of place where you walk in, place your order, then sit anywhere and your meal is brought out to you. They have a nice vibe, great service, and are usually packed.
