Owner is very knowledgeable and friendly and the owners mother is gluten-free so definitely felt safe. He was quick to point out the safety measures they take and what I could have. They have two friers, one for breaded items and shellfish and one that is only non-breaded items, so a win for having sweet potato fries and chips. I went for breakfast, portions are fairly large. They have some gluten free baked goods but didn't ask more about that.

We were at an event at Glenelg Country Day School and the pizza truck sold out of pizza for my non-celiac husband. Desperate for lunch for him and a bit of quiet, we ventured into the area and found Fox & Barrel Farm Cafe. The building is fire-engine red and adorable, and in the middle of farm land. It was a bit of a gift shop, art gallery, book shop, and a cafe. They have options for vegetarians, vegans, and people who need to eat gluten free. My two sons and I are all celiac. Gluten free options for us included coffee, chai, interesting sodas, gluten free buns for sandwiches and huge burgers, a dedicated fryer (it was broken though when we visited) for gf fries and sweet potato fries, wedge salad, a variety of bacon, a sausages, breakfast options all day and made to order in a separate frying pan when we specified, sweet potato home fries, etc. We felt extremely comfortable. When the food was brought to us, we were visited by the chef (I forget his name!) who explained his training and the cautious lengths he goes to to ensure the food is gluten free. Turns out he is a graduate of George Washington Carver Center for the Arts and Technology in Towson, MD, where my son currently is attending. Some of the Art on display was created by another fellow Carver graduate. His mother took our orders and had brought us our food. The visit felt a bit like a family reunion. We all agreed the food was amazing, and another visit would be worth the trip! We had no bad reactions to the food at all. Highly recommend!

The chef and owner of the restaurant is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about Celiac and other food allergies. He has a dedicated fryer for French fries and can make almost everything on the menu gfree barring a fried shrimp. I had a chicken cheesesteak, which he split on two buns to make it fair as he calls it. We also chatted for a long time and he is so sweet. They source their ingredients sustainably and the food was BOMB. Couldn't recommend more.
