Amazing, friendly server and most items could be made gluten free. I got recommended the buttermilk chicken burger and wow it was amazing. One of the best meals I’ve had in NYC

One of my favorite places in Manhattan and pretty much anywhere! Great American food that’s mostly gluten free with plenty of vegan and vegetarian options! Great service and good 80s background music.

We had a great lunch here! We all had burgers, fries, pancakes, chicken and waffles (this was so nice as I never can get this combo out!), and banana bread! Staff knew what was GF (only a couple of things aren’t). Everything GF comes out labeled! Small seating capacity so may have a wait.

This place is amazing! The food was truly incredible and they are thorough, accommodating, and versatile with their gluten free options. The vibe of the restaurant is cozy and friendly, music is great, and the service is pretty fast! You need to try the lemon ricotta pancakes and the Korean wings. My new favorite spot tbh. There is so much to try, they have many locations so be sure to check them out :)

Very nice place. Not real big, but wasn’t too loud when it was fairly full. They are an almost entirely gluten free establishment. I was told their entire menu can be made gluten free except for the french toast. The service was fast and friendly. I got the fried chicken sandwich and it was nice!

Eating here is a little confusing for folks with celiac. Some of the reviews here say the pancakes are fine to eat, but our waiter said they would be cross contaminated. He also said I could not eat the French toast or soups. The spinach and artichoke dip was watery and gross, but the chicken and waffle was great. They also use a great GF bread for toast from a bakery in Canada that I refused to believe was GF until I saw the packaging for myself. The slices are huge and the texture is really nice.

OMGosh this place is deli heaven on earth!!!!!! I had a Reuben sandwich, on GF bread😋, which was the BEST SAMMY EVER!!! It was hot (temp), enough, and oh-so-tasty. If you tour the Intrepid, this is a great place to go after.

I will sing this restaurant’s praises for the rest of my life. It is SO GOOD. The gf pancakes are delicious, but stop for lunch/dinner and get the gf fried chicken and waffle. They have a dedicated fryer! You will not regret it!!!

Fantastic - highly recommend. I had the potstickers, the cheesecake and a gluten free beer. All delicious. Staff were knowledgeable about gluten free. Service was great and attentive. Will definitely visit some of the other Friedman’s locations while in NYC.

Unfortunately was ill after visiting here and had been the only place I’d eaten and drunk at for a late breakfast. They don’t have a separate menu but say they can do gluten free. It’s very busy and the risk of cross contamination, this is not a 100 % gluten free place so will depend on how sensitive you are. Also be careful with having coffees as they use oat milk and comes out the same stem.

Fantastic hole in the wall location / the staff was very knowledgeable and they explained well that of their locations this has a much smaller kitchen so there is more risk of cross contamination - they made provisions by specifically cleaning the griddle between orders which they said they can’t always do during a rush. Food is outstanding the GF lemon ricotta pancakes are truly outstanding!

Super disappointing due to (lack of) service. Lots of GF options and food is decent (though sandwich rolls are not properly stored as they were stale and fell apart on bite #1 ☹). Had the artichoke spinach dip as an appetizer and a buttermilk fried chicken sandwich. It was so delicious that we ate there twice! It was so nice to eat somewhere safe and feel normal. The website states that the Friedman’s founder had Celiac. The waitstaff assured me that everything in the restaurant is gluten free except that they do offer non-GF burger buns. I let the waitstaff know that I had Celiac and needed my meal to be GF. The waiter assured me that everything on my plate would be safe. My food came out flagged as GF. Knowledgeable staff and delicious food!

A NYC gem for sure. There are 4+ locations and I’ve been to 3. It is wonderful to feel taken care of and “normal” for once.

We were so excited about eating here based on so many reviews but it was just so so. The fried chicken was dry and flavorless. The fries had so much rosemary and thyme on them that it was nauseating and it didn’t help that the restaurant had a bad sewer odor as well. I thought the prices were high for the taste of the food.
