I love this restaurant.

It’s my default spot for gluten free dining in NYC because it’s low key, unassuming and has a wide variety of food. And the food it serves is delicious and worthy of your time if you’re in the Hudson yards area.

I always default to the burger for dinner, but they also have some amazing salads.

The drinks are also superb and the outdoor dining area is becoming more robust.

Great and interesting gluten free food! Almost everything can be made GF, and the staff is very knowledgeable about Celiac and avoiding cross contamination. Delicious food and good selection. A bit surprised that this location did not have a children’s menu, as other Friedman’s do

Very confusing if this place is GF or not. I know they are trying to be really allergy friendly but I don’t like the ambiguity. The fries were good and I didn’t get sick but I wish they would just jump in and be a dedicated GF space.

I am so stuffed! 99% of the menu is GF. The waffles and pancakes are GF for everyone! No chance of confusion or cross-contamination. The menu is a little confusing because it doesn’t mark anything as GF and they do upcharge for the GF toast on the breakfast sandwich. I had the chicken and waffles which was fried chicken on a cheese waffle. I haven’t had fried chicken in a decade! It was delicious. The dark meat was undercooked so I sent it back and they made it right, including a discount on the bill. I would love to come back if we have time.

Perfect experience. Great for people who are Celiac but their whole party necessarily isn’t. Staff was super knowledgeable and incredibly friendly. They have a dedicated fryer so fried chicken and fries can be made gluten free. They put a little sign on every meal that is gluten free just for further reassurance. Highly recommend!

Staff is very knowledgeable and had a separate fryer for fried foods. I had a burger in the first day I was here and it came out non gf, but they quickly remade me another which was safe. Came for breakfast on a different day and ordered the eggs benedict on potato pancakes. Very good and no problems! They mark the food with GF prep as well.

We had brunch with son who lives in city. I had the gluten free waffles and fried chicken. It was wonderful. Ask for maple syrup. They give you something else and I didn’t like that sauce at all. But the meal was lovely! I did get concerned because the man who brought my food forgot to put the Gf stick in my meal. I verified twice that it was gf. He said yes but that he forgot to add the stick to indicate it. All was well. I will go back again!

Like so many reviewers, we had a great meal (first visit) at Friedman’s Lunch. My son’s grilled cheese on GF bread was delicious (he has celiac), and the remaining five of us had salads, soups, and great sandwiches. Our server was a sweetheart, knowledgeable and outgoing, and we all agreed that celiac or not, we will definitely be back.

I ordered the Asian salad and it was horrible... the chicken tasted like uncooked fish and they didnt remove the skin.... it was just lettuce, couple small pieces of chicken, red bell pepper and scallion and cost $16.00! too expensive and poor quality.
