Not celiac friendly

The menu changes so there are now fewer options, and I still got sick.

Not celiac friendly. Especially at brunch. Only buffet available before 10. They say the kitchen is not “open” until 11. Yet have folks working in the kitchen and had food made for the buffet. They did have an omelette bar. However, the person cooking the omelettes was using the same utensils for the waffles as the omelettes. When asked to use different utensils they did but was a tad inconvenienced.

They said they would be careful, I ordered the safest thing and still! I got the wedge salad. Got very sick here

They attempted, but was a fail twice. No dedicated fryers which doesn't leave a lot of options even for things listed on their GF Menu. Burger with GF bun was okay, but again, they grilled the bun and such on the same surface as non-GF. I had a reaction both times.

A good gluten free menu. I had the chicken tacos and they were great. Didn’t get sick.

Lack of communication between the server and the kitchen cost me two months of aggravation and pain. Servers need to be better informed of what Can happen when they screw up. I’ll never go back there again.

Server acknowledged the chance of CC. they have a new larger menu, but fewer gluten sensitive items. Not even the salads. Took a chance on a naked burger and green beans. So far, ok, but Probly won’t go back.

There is no ingredient list for brunch. No menu for brunch so nothing at all is labeled gluten free. Brunch is not safe at all. The dinner menu has like three things that are labeled gluten sensitive, nothing is gluten free. I would not recommend this to anyone who truly has an allergy.

This location does not pay attention or listen to gluten free needs. I’ve had two bad experiences and will never return. The first time I ordered a GF flatbread as carry out. The hostess quickly realized it was not GF and had them remake it. So I forgave that. I tried Granite City again today, and as I type this I am glutened. I ordered another GF flatbread, had my celiac chat with the waitress. My food arrives and it looked like whole wheat crust, but the waitress assured me it was GF. Well within 15 mins I was nauseous and in a full-blown migraine. They are either completely ignorant or just don’t care, I believe it’s the latter.

The gluten-free menu options were very limited and the restaurant is extremely noisy.

Server was knowledgeable and friendly toward me when I asked questions. It’s not often you can find a killer vegan AND gluten free burger. Very impressed!

Horrible experience. Bread in my “gluten-free” salad. No remorse.

I've been to a Granite City in Indy, which had great options. Maybe because stopped for food between lunch and dinner, but this Granite City had fairly limited options. That said the food was decent and the menu and staff knowledgeable about asking for allergy versus sensitivity.

I had a bad experience here, I went there and I made my order but it came back with Gluten after I tested it with Nima, the kitchen manager very nicely made me another dish (not so tasty) and it came back with no Gluten... I ate after everyone else finished which is not a good thing. I will not suggest this place unless you can test it with Nima and be absolutely sure

There is not a separate gf menu and they advertise their burgers as gf because of the bun they can add. However, the ingredients on the burger are not gluten free. Be careful, folks.

No longer has GF menu. Only a few items designated “gluten friendly “, mostly large meat items. Used to count on this one, but disappointed this time. Did have GF buns and fries.

The menu was labeled with gluten sensitive options. They said they can’t say any thing is gluten free, but assured me that they try to limit cross contamination.there were lots of options and the food was great!

It’s a good choice, if you’re cautious. The staff was very accommodating and answered several questions. They list some options on the menu as “gluten sensitive,” (GS) but don’t go by that alone. The wings are listed as GS, but my server said he believed they are fried in the same fryer as the onion rings, which have a flour batter. They have a gluten-free buns for hamburgers, but at least a couple of their burgers have gluten containing ingredients. The Blue Peppercorn burger, for example, has onion straws. If you would like a cocktail, I recommend the American Mule. It’s not listed as GS, but after a couple of questions I was able to determine that it is, and it’s good! I had the ribeye steak. It came with some parmesan potatoes and green beans. It was very good and I felt fine afterwards.

Manager took my call during non rush to discuss celiac practices. They scrub the grill and use separate prep spaces when possible. They recommended the flat bread as the safest option. I spoke with the server about cross contamination because of celiac. I was here with a group on a Friday night and it took forty minutes for food to come out. Only half the food came out and the two flat breads were cold. The rest of the food took another fifteen minutes to come out. Twenty minutes after eating I got signs of being glutened. :(

Extremely limited. Shared fryer / cook top. This is more for people following their trendy diet not Gluten allergy / Celiac disease

Had the GF flatbread NOT fit to serve crust so hard could not eat. Would not order again and that makes the menu VERY LIMITED🙁🙁

Have eaten here several times as I live right above it, and I’ve never had any issues. Pretty decent gluten free selection of alcohol, as well as food.

The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. My only complaint is that I always end up taking the gf bun off my burgers because it falls apart and makes a mess.

GF items labeled on the menu and the server checked with the kitchen when I had questions. The food was good!

the food was pretty good. I ordered something off of the gluten free menu but I think there may have been cross contamination because i got sick afterwards (not that bad though). So if you do go just make sure to inform them you have a allergy.

Very incomplete GF Menu. Granite City used to be much more friendly to those with gluten allergies and intolerances, but have changed to a BBQ sauce that apparently is not GF. They have GF buns and flatbreads. Staff attitude when asking about GF menu details says I'm asking the wrong lady, but didn't offer to get the right person. Likely an indication of ownership and/or managements desire to serve the food allergy community, their families and friends. Too bad for Granite City. They used to be such a great place to eat with great food!

Some gluten-free items, but be very careful eating here. Wait staff poorly trained. At least they know and acknowledge they do not have a gluten free fryer.

Had the steak salad. Next day had stomach flu or food poisoning. Will avoid eating here again. 12/18 I have eaten here many times since and it has been very good.

Nope! “Gluten sensitive” only. NO dedicated fryer. Ordered two burgers on GF buns, one was served on a regular bun. Manager ARGUED with us that it was GF. Walked out.

The menu is only gluten sensitive not gluten free. When I told our waitress that I had celiac she said only the salads were truly safe. Not a good place for Celiacs.

Although gluten free options are available , foods are prepared in a contaminated environment. There are no kitchen procedures in place to prepare foods on different surfaces or oils

Pretty slim pickings for gluten free. I can’t eat dairy, either, and the bottom of my salad had tiny blue cheese crumbles despite my warning about allergies. The server felt bad, brought another and took it off the bill.

They don't have a gluten free menu anymore and my Nima sensor tested positive for gluten.

Gluten free menu had lots of options including desserts. Had the margherita flatbread pizza and coleslaw. Delicious! Going back to try the bison burger with gf bun.

Good Burgers with gluten free buns. They have gluten free fries and chips for sides.

Used my Nima sensor to test steak, mashed potatoes and green beans. Steak and mashed potatoes came up GF but not green beans. Must have been seasoning on green beans. This is the type of place i would test every time.

Gluten free menu however they do not use a dedicated fryer so most menu items are not celiac-friendly.

Granite City has a great gluten-free menu that includes gluten-free burgers/buns and flatbread pizzas. Personally I love the Sunday brunch buffet: omelet station, prime rib carving station, fruit bar, salad bar, sausage, mashed potatoes, bottomless mimosas. Just check with your server before entering the buffet line.

They have a separate gluten free menu. As soon as I told the server I have celiac, she gave me some recommendations. She even double checked a few dressings and went back and read the ingredients for me. It was a nice experience.

They have a nice gluten sensitive menu, but they were out of all their flatbreads when I was there which was a bummer. I settled for a cheeseburger. The bun was crumbly and the cheese was barely melted. There is no dedicated fryer.

walked into a half empty restaurant. Was told the wait would be 25 minutes. I looked around and responded "why?" they both look at each other confused, "uh, you can sit at the bar." I respond again. "why? you're not even half full." the two of us left and went across the street. wow.

Service was just appalling! We called ahead to double check their gluten free options and was super excited to go and try their flatbreads. Staff took forever to get our waters and then our waitress ignored us after we told her we didn't want any alcohol. literally. Then when they finally brought out food (a manager did it) they didn't make my flatbread gluten free amd it took another 20 minutes to get me another. Once I got one I could eat it was greasy and the bacon was WAY too peppery and we couldn't even taste the maple. Even though they wrote off the cost of it, it wasn't even good enough for free.

They went out of their way to accommodate not only my gluten allergy but my dairy allergy too!!!! ASK FOR MEGAN! She is vegan and veryyyy educated on everything with gluten and dairy and super friendly and helpful!! Only bad side is that they have a shared fryer for waffle fries and chicken nuggets :( but they have their own separate gluten free menu!

The staff was extremely knowledgeable and helpful in choosing my meal. I ordered the buffalo wings. They prepared them on a dedicated grill instead of fryer and applied the sauce in a clean bowl. Also had a house salad. Top notch! I will return!
