Very friendly. Had a nice breakfast sandwich on GF (almond) bread/biscuit. I have lots of sensitivities (gluten free, dairy free, nightshade free, low histamine) and I was able to have the sandwich and a brownie. They are clearly careful and willing to answer questions. But there is at least one menu item with gluten so ask questions and make your own judgement.

My wife and I went here a few times while we were in Astoria. They have home made bread for the BLT that was incredible. The restaurant is not 100% gf, but the owner was very knowledgeable (I believe her partner has Celiac disease?).

Went here when it was "100% gluten free" in Feb 2023, but I don't know where my review went.
This place was not dedicated back then and the employee lied to me saying it was when I asked. After having a whole conversation with her about being Celiac and enjoying a meal in-house, she then proceeds to tell me they use wheat tortillas in their wraps and are able to be titled a "gf" restaurant because the tortillas aren't made in house... needless to say I was glutened so do what you will with that information.
I don't appreciate being lied to for a buck.

We are a gluten/Celiac friendly cafe proud to offer the community healthy, fresh food made with love.
We offer dietary restrictive options including Paleo, Keto, Vegan and Vegetarian as well as fresh rotating baked goods, we use no refined sugars or oils and take great pride in providing the highest quality ingredients possible. In addition almost everything being made in house, we also cold press fresh juices daily, and feature locally made teas and organic, fair trade coffee.
Tacos, tempeh, and kale coleslaw were amazing!! Green salad was a disappointment
Cute little cafe (loved the vibe) with delicious food. Nearly everything was GF and super safe. We thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast sandwich. The bun was made from almond flour and was very tasty. Definitely plan to visit again while in Astoria.

Little hippie cafe with lots of gf options. I had the kale Caesar and it was very tasty. My picky husband had the tacos and he thought they were very good as well. I’ll be back!

The BLT and egg sandwich were fabulous. The almond flour muffins they make and use for those sandwiches are thin, kind of like a McMuffin. I’ve never had anything quite like it. The owner has Celiac, and assured us everything was safe. (The flour tortillas are kept in a totally separate area.)

Fabulous place, almost everything is gluten free and the owners are very careful about quality of ingredients, and about avoiding cross contamination. Great variety (the egg salad on a homemade almond roll is amazing) and there's topnotch sushi on Saturday nights. We come here often when we are in town. Owners are very friendly and accomodating, and there are also lots of paleo and vegan choices, along with a couple of meat options.

Such a cute little cafe with wonderful (nearly) all GF options. We chatted with Kendall, the owner and had a wonderful visit. There's only three or four little tables so the atmosphere is cozy and inviting. My husband and I each opted for the tacos. I went with vegetarian and he got the braised pork. We also got the sweet potato mash which was exactly as Kendall described it... A mix between sweet and savory. The meal was absolutely delicious! I told Kendall, the owner that I felt sad at the end because the meal was over and I had loved every minute of it. I also purchased one of the rules that she uses for sandwiches and absolutely loved everybody. Light and fluffy but with lots of flavor and just a tiny bit salty. Just perfect. I would go back here every day that I was in Astoria!

Wonderful, delish, and friendly! We had an excellent experience at the Green Door Cafe. Our food was tasty and the wife and husband team running this restaurant are fabulous! I can’t recommend this restaurant enough! Go try it for lunch! Everything is gluten free except for the Mediterranean chicken wrap. (This wrap is made in a separate part of the kitchen)

At a recent trip to Astoria, I enjoyed a Fat Head Bun (almond flour, filled with provolone cheese) at Green Door Cafe. The owner offered to heat it up, and it was absolutely heavenly this way. It was also quite filling, so I actually ate the last two bites an hour later, and it was still very good. Highly recommended! Everything on offer was gluten-free except for the wheat tortillas that are made off-site; they use them for wraps.

I spoke with the owner and had a lovely conversation. When I asked about most everything being gluten free, she told me what item was not, and when I went to ask about protocols she said she is celiac so understands! Only one item contains gluten (tortillas) and they are not made in-house, and are stored & prepared in a separate area. I felt safe and comfortable eating here, and enjoyed the breakfast sandwich + BLT I got! Will definitely visit again next time I’m in the area.

Really cute place with lots of plants inside. Baffling to me why they choose to serve wheat flour wraps on the menu but claim to be dedicated gluten free. Are those flour tortillas really worth it?

We found this cafe while spending the day in Astoria. It's great! We love that it is completely gluten-free so it's safe for my Celiac daughter to eat anything off of the menu. And everything tasted wonderful! We had the chowder, Greek salad and tacos. We even got a brownie to take home. We had great time talking w the owner, Kendall. She's super friendly and easy going. We will be coming back!

So thankful to have found this spot!! After a disappointing experience at a different local restaurant I stopped in at Green Door right as they were about to close for the day (out of most items) I explained that I have Celiac and just needed *something* safe to eat. The owner completely understood and they made me the BEST breakfast sandwich I’ve ever had. I’ll definitely make stopping here a priority on future visits to Astoria. Everything on the menu looked delicious and their kitchen is dedicated GF!!

This place is such a find! 100% gluten free and most things are DF too. Had a BLAT sandwich on a house made almond biscuit and it was incredible. My husband who doesn’t have to eat GF had the tempeh Korean tacos and raves about how good they were. We also got the kale slaw - super fresh. If I lived in Astoria I would come here daily. Also, super nice owners.

So, so good. I had the Korean beef short rib tacos. They were amazing, full of flavor and a crunchy slaw. I would have liked to try another item, but the tacos were huge an so filling. I also had a cold pressed juice of celery, carrot, orange, lemon with turmeric and cayenne, yum. The owner is friendly and the environment inviting. It was nice finding a restaurant where I didn’t have to stress about what to eat or cross contamination. I highly suggest this restaurant if you are in Astoria.

April 13, 2021 – The best blurb I could give about Green Door is not that it is vegan friendly with a menu that is gluten and grain free with an emphasis on organic. But it is one of those local business that is known and loved by the locals. Uniquely, they sell $2 hot or cold coffee, $2 hot or cold black tea, and cold pressed juices 6 oz $5 & 16 oz $10. NB, they also have outdoor sitting located in the Historic Astoria Odd Fellows Building awesome. The ambiance of the place is this Anne of Green Gables quaintness that will make you want to come back.
Okay, my review on the Green Doors Korean beef Short Rib Taco. When you take a bite there will be a burst of favor filling your mouth and you will hear yourself saying, “wow the favor burst into your taste buds.” I give the Korean beef Short Rib Taco a +5 burst of taste rating and next time I will want to check out the outdoor sitting and get some of their bargain price side dishes.
Ginger Teas I recommend Sweet Garden Instant Ginger Tea with Brown sugar as the best tasting. I use two packets for best taste. At an Asian store it cost $5.99 online at Amazon it cost $19.99. I bought 4 packs last weekend when in Seattle. Since, I'm Pastor Dav, your welcome to stop by for Ginger tea. (contact below) Best ginger powder is from Rhee Bros online at Amazon sells for $13.80, if you buy it from an Asian store, it will be 1/3 or 1/4 that price. The powder is too strong to drink, so I just use it to add my teas to add some ginger to my diet. FYI, I can only drink ginger powder without eating something as an additive to another tea at a 3 to 1 ratio brewed in a French Press. (see photos)
