We eat here every time we pass through Lancaster - two or three times a month. We have yet to get sick here and have only ever gotten sick once at an In-N-Out, which is impressive since it’s the only place my DH trusts when traveling. We feel so comfortable in their assembly line set up that we don’t feel the need go into the celiac spiel at time of ordering. DH gets the Flying Dutchman (two patties with cheese in the middle). Their website lists the allergen website for their other products. Well worth it for the peace of mind.

Ordering ‘protein style’ is the best option to make it gf. Also point out that you have an allergy and they use dedicated cooking equipment

I’ve eaten here and other In-N-Outs plenty of times and had no issues . Everything is GF except the buns, so order burgers “protein style” which is a lettuce wrap. So fries and all other items are safe. Cross contamination is the biggest problem here. Ask for separate containers for your burger and glove changes. They do not have a separate preparation area for the food.

I’ve never had an issue with this location. It’s nice being able to see them making the food. They do a lettuce wrap (called protein style) and tell them it’s for an allergy and they will be careful.

Order your burger protein style, due to an allergy and they have a dedicated area for prep with separate toppings. Nothing is shared. The fryer is dedicated as well. Their shakes are AMAZING!!! You can be adventurous with their secret menu - just look for it on your favorite search engine!

I am celiac and have been going here for years. For any burger ask protein style then with a gluten allergy, they will call the allergy back. They change their gloves and wash their hands putting on new gloves with a separate area for preparing the food. The fry’s are naturally gluten free but if you want to make sure you can ask them to put a gluten allergy with that to, all the milkshakes are gluten free along with the sodas. I have never had any issue with this place. I even went here when I was new to this allergy and had no issue.

This chain has been one of the only restaurants I've been able to eat at and not get sick. You do have to make sure to say its for a gluten allergy and spread on the side. I got extremely sick when they put it on for me.

Usually fine, we have had a few problems in the past with cross contamination. The issue happens at the end during packing or putting it on the tray, not during the cooking process.

I have Celiac and In N Out is always a safe bet.The only ingredient that contains gluten is the buns, and they handle these in a dedicated area. When you order, make sure to tell them you have a gluten allergy and they'll mark your order with an allergy label, then they'll keep it away from gluten including using fresh gloves and everything.

I always order a Flying Dutchman, which is two burger patties with cheese and a side of spread. I prefer the Flying Dutchman over Protein Style because it’s less messy than the falling apart lettuce “bun.” They cook the patties in a separate area to prevent cross-contamination. You could order the fries too as they are gluten free and the only item that goes in the fryer, however, I am not a fan. The Flying Dutchman is great!

It's shameful that they don't carry gluten free buns imo. Yes, they will do lettuce wraps burger but it's a mess to try to eat and who wants a burger without a bun.

Listed my order under a gluten allergy. I saw the workers change their gloves and they put my food in a separate bag and made sure that it wasn’t cross contaminated. I’ve eaten here many times and at other locations and haven’t gotten sick at all.

I have gotten sick at this In n Out three times. I always tell them I have an allergy and they still manage to get me sick. I got sick once just ordering the animals fries, so my assumption is that they are not properly cleaning the grill.

The guy at the register didn’t seem familiar with gluten at all, so he called over some help. The manager showed him how to add the allergy into my order, warned the kitchen that an allergy order would be coming back, and designated someone specific to handle my food after changing her gloves. I felt quite reassured. Protein style burger and fries ๐Ÿ™Œ

They may not have gf bums, but when you say you have an allergy to gluten, they cook it on a clean grill with clean utensils. I usually remind them to put any burgers with a bun in it's own bag away from my protein style and fries since they only partially wrap them.

When they had only been open a couple of months, I did have one young woman tell me that, "None of the buns are wheat; their all white buns." I couldn't even speak for a minute. I emailed corporate from the website and they assured me the whole shift would be retrained on allergen protocols.

Staff was awesome! Make sure you tell them you have a gluten allergy. They will flag your order and create your food in an area where it won’t be cross contaminated. They made me a protein style burger and assured me the fries are gluten free with the only thing they use in that fryer. I didn’t get sick. I go here often. One of my go to places for a fast fix that I know will be good.

To be clear there is NO GF bun available; previous reviews are based on “no bun” option. Staff are friendly and place is clean, but food is... just a lower standard than “normal fast food”. They might deserve three-point-something stars (just as a burger joint) but this is a GF finder app... so I will use 1 star to de-rate the place. It isn’t too far from wrong. Sorry folks :(

You can order the hamburger Protein Style (Bun replaced with Lettuce). The fries are fresh-cut potatoes in a dedicated fryer (actually, french fries are the only fried item at In-N-Out).

Make sure to say Gluten Allergy. Then they are very careful. The only item with gluten is the buns and they don’t bake those at the restaurant. Very low risk for cross contamination.

Best burgers. My families favorite. The lettuce wrap is really good. Holds together well.

In-N-Out has allergy procedures. But there’s always a risk woth shared kitchen space. I haven’t had an issue. I eat here or another location several times a week when I visit family.I get a double double protein style. The single cheeseburger isn’t enough with then lettuce wrap. The fries are really good; whole potatoes!

In-N-Out has allergy procedures in place to limit cross-contamination.I order double double protein style which is a lettuce wrap. I find the single cheese burgers in the lettuce wrap are not enough. The lettuce is just right, not so much the burger is hidden and my hands only get a bit messy. The fries are great. Fresh whole potatoes! My favorite fast food.
