They are the very best fast food for those with celiac disease. Not perfect, but as close as one can get. I have eaten it at least once a week for years at several different locations. I've gotten sick maybe twice out of probably 100 visits. Tell them you have a "gluten allergy" and they handle your food separately. Order your burger "protein style" to get a lettuce wrap. Best lettuce wrap burger around. My go to is a 3X3 protein style with no spread. A 3X3 in a Lettuce wrap is juicy and sloppy enough, you won't miss the spread. Fantastic!

We ate here for the first time since being diagnosed. Everything was perfect at first. But then we watched the cook use the same gloves to touch bread then proceed to make our GF meal. Needless to say we had to talk to the manager. Who was great and made the meal herself the second time. But if we weren’t watching, it could have been bad.

I eat here often without issue. I order the protein style with gluten allergy. It’s a lettuce wrap and they change gloves. Never any issues

Order "protein style" to get it wrapped in lettuce
In-&-Out always makes me feel safe and comfortable ordering a gluten free burger and fries! It’s important that you order “PROTEIN STYLE FOR A GLUTEN ALLERGY” so that they change gloves, use a separately cleaned area and toppings station, and make the whole line aware of the allergy. Fresh-cut fries are the only fried item, so you are safe there too!

As a very sensitive celiac, I was nervous going in and wasn't going to eat if they didn't act like they knew what they were doing. When we asked the cashiers about it, they knew right away what I could/couldn't have and called it out to the cook that it was an "allergy" so it would be handled safely to avoid cross contamination. Very knowledgeable and delicious!!
Yes
Can get a burger wrapped in lettuce, "protein style". Also the fries are gluten free as they are the only things fried. Shakes are as well. Basically everything is okay to eat here except for the bun!

Absolutely excellent! I ate here two days in a row and had no issue. I made sure to communicate I have celiac/gluten allergy. I love the animal style for fries. The burger can drip a lot if it’s animal style. Great flavor.

Just let them know when ordering you have a gluten allergy and they take extra precautions. Must order protein style though. As they do not have GF buns. I’ve never been sick here ever and I eat at an In N Out at least once every week. Even the fries are safe. Animal style for burger and fry’s are the best!

I’ve always had good luck Corrine’s here and find staff usually notify each other verbally (in addition to to written order) for gluten allergy. I have done drive through too but always prefer to go in and listen to their flags on my food

The person who took my order indicated that the fryer is only used for French Fries. He added a "gluten allergy" note to both the burger and fries on my ticket. Based on my online research, I expected this to trigger a special protocol including glove changes. I watched the two people making the burgers closely, but didn't see any glove changes. This made me uncomfortable so I discarded my burger. I probably should have asked or even sent it back, but I wasn't prepared to do so in the moment.
