I usually have a good experience here. The sauce is GF, but order it in the packets on the side. They use the same knife in the jar for all burgers. The last time I went here, they mistakenly put my burger in a bun. I told them it was supposed to be protein style/GF. I am suspect they took my burger off the bun and wrapped it in lettuce. I was sick shortly after. That being said, that has been my only problem with this location since it opened.
Fries are completely gf (separate fryer yay!) and not to mention super tasty. I was confused, though-- they told me that their special sauce was not gf but I had previously heard that it was okay for me.. I stayed away just to be cautious. I'm also skeptical about the protein-style burgers because of cross-contamination on the grill. Bottom line: stick with the fries! You'll be satisfied and stay safe.
Order "protein style" to get it wrapped in lettuce
Found In-and-out during our trip through California and Nevada. As their protein-style burgers and fries are a no-brainer for gf meals, we went there more than once.

I have never had an issue once telling them it’s a Gluten Allergy. The only gluten in the store is the buns! I was told buns are toasted separately from where the burgers are cooked and the only thing even in the fries is the fries themselves.

Order Protein Style for a GF Burger. Fries are made GF in a separate Fryer. Really happy to have had the In'n'out experience!
