Order it protein style to get it wrapped in lettuce. (I also like it "animal style" for extra flavor on the meat.) The fries are cooked in a dedicated fryer. Only the buns have gluten (and if you ordered a malt, it would too), so eliminate them and you can get what you want. The fries tend be a little undercooked for me, so I get them cooked "well done", but that's a personal choice.

Fast and delicious! Dedicated fryer for fries! We always ask for the manager and explain our allergies so they follow their allergen protocol and get it right. Make sure your allergies appear on the receipt too. They do not have gluten free buns but they do protein style (lettuce wrap). We've never gotten sick and we're super-sensitive. We've been eating here gf for about 8 years.

Tell the staff you have a gluten allergy so you need a protein style burger. The receipt will say gluten allergy on it. Can get very busy at times, but they only cook burgers and fries so fries are safe. Overall, great place and good burger!!

I ordered a hamburger (protein style) and fries and told them I had a gluten allergy. I was a little nervous since it was through the drive thru, but they listed the allergy directly on the ticket under each item, the guy at the pay window then read the allergy as part of my order (reaffirming they noted it), and then when I was at the pick up window I could hear the kid manning the window confirming with the other folks loading the fries and burger into the bag that it was the “allergy” fries/burger. It made me feel really comfortable and I greatly appreciated how thoroughly they train their employees to take gluten allergies so seriously. It’s been a week since my visit and no adverse reaction (recently diagnosed with Celiacs but have only continued feeling better since going on a gluten free diet), so I will definitely be back!

Because In-N-Out does everything fresh, it tastes so good. Their fries are made fresh and are not fried with anything else. They do not have gluten free buns, but they are more than willing to wrap the burgers in lettuce (protein style).

Protein style burger is Gluten free (A burger wrapped in lettuce). Make sure to mention you have Celiac when you order. I don’t recommend getting onions on your burger because they are grilled on the same grill as all the burger supplies. They have separate equipment for making gluten free food and they will put on clean gloves and make sure no cross contamination will be in your food

If you order a Protein Style Burger (has no bun because it’s wrapped in lettuce) it is gluten free but make sure you say you have celiac disease when you order. I trust the fries, shakes, and drinks there. I’m the most sensitive person to Gluten and have been Celiac for about a year now and this IN-N-OUT will not cross contaminate you.

I have never been to In and out burger especially now that I was diagnosed with celiac . but after reading some of the reviews I thought I would take a chance and order to go. which I'm glad I did. I ordered the double cheese burger on lettuce , I was a little disappointed because there wasn't any pickles I'm not sure if I had to add them. but the burger was really good fries were just ok. but I will go back because I never got sick. When I ordered I told them I had celiac so they made a point to relay the message to those who were preparing my burger

This place is huge for an In-N-Out burger. Yes, they have a drive through for those who want to keep going. But they also have a very large indoor dining area. Air conditioned, clean bathrooms, free refills on your sodas, endless ketchup and napkins. We got there at dinner at the end of a 3 day weekend. Probably the busiest time imaginable. Still, the line moved rapidly and the order arrived perfectly. A gas station is just across the parking lot so all was done without any hassle. The fries are always gluten free as there is nothing else fried. Just ask for a protein style burger due to gluten allergy and a great lettuce wrapped burger will arrive.

Great food and great service. Ask them to press the allergy button (yes, we know that celiac isn’t an allergy, but they don’t have an autoimmune button) and order the burger “protein style” (nothing else is fried, and they cut the potatoes in plain sight). We has an excellent experience!

no GF buns, but they confirmed the fries and shakes were gluten-free and bent over backwards trying to find something I could eat with corn allergies (and beef and onion allergies too... I'm real fun at parties). My GF / likely some celiac kids were able to eat a full meal (lettuce wraps burgers, fries, shakes) and I got fries with no salt with a side of lettuce and a side of tomato. That may not sound impressive to you, but it's such a relief to eat safe fast food at all and share a "traditional" American meal with my family in any form. They flagged the food as needing gluten care, verified ingredients, and were incredibly patient with celiac plus.

Ordered fries for my celiac daughter. I was assured when we walked in that these would be safe for her. We have eaten at in and out burger many times safely. However, this was not the case at this location. I watched them make her fries, after the person did not re-glove and had just been handling the burgers with gluten buns.

In-N-Out is very allergen friendly. I tell them I have celiac (or “gluten allergy”) and they put an alert on my order. They wash their hands, put on gloves and prepare the food safely. The fries are celiac friendly too which is a huge plus. Warning-your allergy alert order should come on its own tray. One time (I have eaten safely here a dozen times) I got my order and it was on the tray alongside my husband’s burger-bun and all. That was a red flag so I inquired. Sure enough it was a new employee and the allergen alert did not get added to the ticket.

Obviously chains will not have a gluten free kitchen. The cashier immediately offered a protein style burger with a lettuce wrap instead of a bun. The fries are also gluten free. To be sure of no cross contamination with regard to condiments I ordered the burger dry-no condiments-and just added catsup from the pump out front. (Better to not take chances when they’re probably slapping on mayo and catsup from a vat where the same spatula is used all day.) Happy eating!

They are not actually celiac friendly. They toast the Buns on the same grill that they cook the meat on and use the same spatulas to handle both burgers and buns. They don't wipe the counters off in between burgers so it's getting cross contamination all the way across the line. been there 4 times, gotten sick 3. will not be doing that again

We were excited to try this place out as we have heard such high reviews. My daughter ordered fries and a burger wrapped in lettuce. Her burger came out on a bun. We then asked for a new one wrapped in lettuce. Burger was small and fries were ok. She later got very sick, so we think it was from cross contamination.

Staff very knowledgeable about GF safety. Ask for burger protein style and you get it in a lettuce wrap. Make sure you tell them it's for an allergy (which they understand better). Gluten issue listed on the order and staff shouts out "allergy". They change gloves and are careful with handling the burgers. Fries are only items in the fryer, so they are gluten free as well. No buns though. Still excellent!

Have Celiac and eat here frequently when I want a quick burger. I get the flying Dutchman with fries and never gotten sick (can't say the same for other In and Out locations). Just be sure to mention that you have a gluten allergy and they will have someone change there gloves and cook your burger on a safe surface. The one drawback is no gf buns, but I just plan ahead and bring my own and all is good.

I pretty much never get to eat fries due to cross contamination, but in-n-out doesn't even offer breaded items. Protein style is the no bread, special diet option, but let them known you are celiac because most people just order it to reduce calories. They will prepare protein style separate from the regular burger.
