Unfortunately they no longer have the dedicated fryer. They were short on space. The server said it may come back in the summer but she doesn’t know for sure. To make it worse, they took it out the day before I was there. Such a bummer!

I had yam fries and chicken wings prepared in a dedicated fryer! I’m very careful about eating at restaurants because my celiac reactions are so severe, but the waitress herself said she had celiac and ate there all the time so I felt assured it would be a safe experience. She helped me choose some items off the menu and I had a successful evening out. I will definitely be back.

I had a great gf meal! The server was very knowledgeable but also checked with the kitchen to be sure the Bacon and Brie Burger with fries was safe to order.

Cool pub. I had a delicious Mango Bellini. It could be dangerous because I tasted zero alcohol. I also had the west coast oysters with a side of yam fries. They have a dedicated fryer for the fries. They have quite a bit of options. It's not noted on the menu but my waitress was very aware of what could be made GF. I'd go again and try more.

I felt safe eating here, but there were not a ton of choices. Salads, burgers, fries. There is a an entire entree section, but that was all off limits and could not be modified. Other than that, it was good. Outside seating was very nice. One thing to note, is you have any minors in your party you have to be out by 9pm. Even if they are with their parents!

Had a great gluten free salade. Of course salade are most of the times glutenfree but the waitres knew what she was talking about. I felt safe.

Went tonight. Had a sandwich with a gluten free bun instead (they usually also have gluten free bread but were sold out). I asked and thr server said their fries now are gluten free in a dedicated fryer. She did warn that although they are very thorough in cleaning, flour is used in their kitchen and couldn't 100% promise no cross contamination. But I feel 100% fine hours after eating there (and am quite symptomatic if glutened).

The sandwich was good, and the bun didn’t fall apart in my hands, but I really just wanted some fries, and their new supplier batters them. Alas, no more gluten free fries here.

Very limited menu. Gluten free bun for burgers and salads. Garden burger and breaded chicken burger are not GF. Called ahead and was told fryer was dedicated GF but our server, who was celiac, confirmed they no longer have a dedicated fryer. Salmon burger was delicious and service and vibe were 10/10.

Heads up about the fries, I always double check and unfortunately was told their fries now have gluten in them as of a few weeks ago and they weren’t sure if they’d be going back? Confusing. Still had other GF options, deep fryer no longer GF though. -edit Was there on Saturday September 27th 2022

I go here quite often, and they have a good GF protocol. The summer menu has fewer options (for non-GF too) so they can manage the cruise ship crowds, but in the winter there is more to choose from and the food is good.

Went to the Irish Pub for dinner — the grilled fish and chips were very tasty plus the dilly homemade tartar sauce was a tasty bonus!

We went for the New Years brunch ($20 per person) and were disappointed with the limited food range — gf hash browns, gf scrambled eggs plus gf sausage & bacon and bananas/apples/oranges. (Those eating gluten also could have breads/croissants, pancakes & waffles).

The staff was incredibly knowledgeable and they were the most options I’ve ever seen at a pub before. The food was incredible and very safely prepared.

While visiting Victoria, my husband and I tried this restaurant on our first night because of the other reviews! This pub was very busy and I can see why! The food was simply amazing! There was so much that I was able to eat! I highly recommend the lobster bisque and the steak sandwich! But only if you can handle a little bit of heat because the steak sandwich is smothered in cheese and jalapeño peppers!

I made a reservation tonight and specified that one of us is a celiac. He ordered fish and chips from the celiac menu after asking about gluten free beer which was not available. At the end of dinner he mentioned to the waiter how much he enjoyed the meal considering it was gluten free and the waiter told him that it wasn’t gluten free! What a shock for my friend. He now is waiting and worrying about the results of having eaten gluten. You were mentioned on a web site as one of Victoria’s top celiac friendly restaurants, this is a serious mistake. I will be contacting that site. Please educate your staff about people’s dietary needs.

I had a lovely meal here. They have a dedicated GF deep fryer, which is always a treat. I had a burger and fries, which was tasty and never made me ill. They have GF beer, which I passed on for the whiskey flight. Excellent place in Victoria for safe pub food.
