Manager was knowledgeable about celiac and instructed staff. A staff member dedicated to allergen orders scooped the ice cream in the back. Expertise offered on celiac safe choices. The ice cream was delicious. One of the few places I have ever had safe ice cream. Had the almond joy with chocolate sauce. Super good.

Tremendous number of flavors of homemade ice cream. We let the person taking the order know about my daughter’s celiac (allergy) and they marked both her and my mother’s cups as such. Great ice cream and we would recommend. We’ll be back!

You can find the flavors online so check before you go. There are so many flavors it can be overwhelming. While the flavors aren’t marked on the signs, employees can look up the allergens. Flavors are listed gf online.

I really enjoyed both the Cherry Jubilee and Bourbon Caramel ice cream here. They have flavors that contain gluten clearly marked. It is the next day and I don't believe I was exposed. The line looked long, but it moved quick and it was totally worth it!

We have eaten here twice. Gloves were changed both times but they still scooped from the same tubs from what I could tell. It was so busy and crazy in there. Ice cream was served in a cup and no cross contamination symptoms noted.

We went here excited for ice cream, the people working weren’t very clear, just told me that I should stay away from the flavors that were obvious not gluten free, weren’t super helpful, seemed like cross contamination was gonna be an issue, so I didn’t eat

Yum yum yum! Have to ask for the separate GF menu but staff were knowledgeable and went to scoop mine out of the back so there would not be cross contamination. I got the Black Raspberry and the Mint Chip and both were delicious!

These guys understand GF. Chincoteague didn't strike me as a celiac friendly destination in general, but these guys were the most informed I found on the island. The flavors that contain gluten are clearly marked. The servers have a great understanding and protocol and will get a clean scoop from the ice cream in the back if you tell them you have an allergy. Multiple celiacs in our party are there 2 days in a row and didn't get sick.

Ice cream that contains gluten is marked with a “G” on the menu. At the time I went, nearly all ice cream flavors were GF except for the flavors that were obviously not GF (containing brownie or cookie bits). A couple of the ice creams contain a small amount of alcohol and they are marked with an “A”. I told the person who took my order that I have a “gluten allergy” and she said they would scoop mine from the back. The ice cream was amazing. I would definitely go back.

SO GOOD. This place was delicious, and even though they were really busy, they were happy to scoop from the back with a fresh spoon with no exasperated sighs like you get at other places. No gluten free cones, but the ice cream is good enough on its own. I had the pony tracks, and it was incredible. Gluten free is clearly labeled on the menu. I didn’t want to push my luck with any toppings, but still the best ice cream I’ve had in a long time. My non-gluten free family loved it too.

I'm a true Celiac and felt very comfortable eating here. I didn't get any exasperated sighs and my ice cream was served from a new bin away from the display case ice cream. And they used a new clean spoon to scoop.

Many choices for gluten free hand dipped ice cream. Most ice cream is labeled gluten free, sometimes it will say gluten-free on the back of the ice cream flavor. Ask you server to verify. The servers were well aware of gluten-free ice creams. I enjoyed Pony Tracks that included chocolate and peanut butter, do good. The server even scooped my ice cream in the back with a clean spoon, no contamination. Only thing to remember, do not sample any ice cream even if it is gluten-free, the ice cream is contaminated.

The ice cream is delicious and clearly labeled if it contains gluten, however the staff was less than helpful when I informed them I had celiac d disease and asked about cross contamination. I asked which toppings were gluten free and the server simply said she didn't know and shrugged her shoulders. She used a contaminated ice cream scoop and refused to check ingredient lists. Unfortunately I had to speak to a manager to resolve it. I did eventually get an ice cream that was safe for me to eat, but it took several attempts and repeated explanations to get there. If you choose to eat here, stick to a plain scoop of ice cream, no toppings.

Delicious ice cream and they clearly indicate the menu which ice creams contain gluten. We've eaten here on several occasions. They will scoop your ice cream from a fresh container in the back. Most ice cream flavors are gluten free. When I inquired about ingredients, the manager was happy to provide a binder.
