Had the macadamia nut with goat cheese burger and fries on GF bun. The burger was good (but not great) and the fries were over cooked but we’re going to go back again in a few days to try their regular burger.

Delicious! My kids and I all have Celiac Disease. The fish tacos with corn tortillas were great as well as the Mahi sandwich on a gluten free bun. The best part is the dedicated fryer for French fries 🙌

Food is pretty good! I got the fish tacos with pineapple slaw with an additional side of fries. The guy taking my order was very knowledgeable about GF. You don’t get as much food for the price as expected but it’s Hawaii. There’s not a lot of seating indoors or outdoors.

This place was amazing!!! Both my husband (who eats gluten) and I thought the food was delicious! I’m a silent celiac so can’t speak to getting sick, but we ate here 4 times during our week on the island, and each time when I told them I had celiac, they described the options they had and seemed very knowledgeable and careful. Ate here for lunch our last day on the big Island. Wish we would have stopped earlier. Note I am not celiac but I do abide by the diet due to a wheat allergy, my wife is Celiac. I had the BBQ pork sandwich and my wife had the fish Tacos (corn shell available) with Coleslaw. We enjoyed our meal, GF buns are additional cost but one of the best bus I have ever had. The Buns are baked on the Island, and the Beef is raised on the island as well. They have a dedicated frier & oil for fries. Does not appear to have a dedicated section for GF for those with a severe Celiac.

Great experience and clearly they have plenty of GF customers. They have a dedicated fryer for their regular fries AND sweet potato fries (yum!). All burgers had the option of a GF bun, which my husband said tasted better than the usual Udi's that most restaurants use. Cashier knew exactly what to do and no digestive issues after. A win!

Delicious! Had a cheeseburger with sweet potato fries and they were great! When ordering I spoke with the staff and they were very knowledgeable and said they have a lot of regular customers with celiac disease. Only “bad” part was the 35 minute wait for food…. We loved eating here. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. It was so nice to be able to eat a burger with a gluten free bun with a side of fries. The fries are made in a dedicated gf frier and the burgers were made safely. We ate here a couple of times without any problems!

Went here for dinner my first night on the island. Based on the reviews here, I double checked they had a dedicated fryer. Had the bacon cheeseburger on a Gluten free bun (definitely udis) and French fries. Did not get sick! And it was delicious. I’d go back.

The food is delicious at Island Ono Loa Grill! Dedicated fryer for the super yummy french fries, and gluten free buns! They do not toast the buns, so no cross contamination. We came back a second time because the food was so good, and we got Loco Moco without the gravy (the gravy is not gluten free), and it was good, too! They have grass fed beef, which is also a plus. My husband and daughter have silent celiac, so they don’t get symptoms if glutened, but it seems like they are very careful here.

You order at the counter (fast casual) and there are a few tables within the restaurant and outdoors within the shopping plaza. They have Udi gluten free buns and they have a fryer that they use to only cook fries. Burger was delicious, buns were a bit crumbly as usual, and fries were good. The staff seemed pretty knowledgeable. I'm very sensitive to cross contamination usually, so I think there was a bit of that after I ate here but nothing too serious luckily.

Food is tasty fresh and full of flavor. Willing to accommodate vegan burgers. Dedicated fryer means fear free fries!! Yes this is a must. This is second time first time just as great!

Please don’t go here if you’re a Celiac. I told them I was a celiac and asked if it was possible to eat gluten free. Yes ofcourse, they said. And then they asked to define gluten.

So I did, and also explained that it was important that there wasn’t any contamination. They said they understood.

When we were waiting while our food was prepared, I noticed that they put the glutenfree bun on the normal grill, against a gluten bun! I went and told them that it was not OK, and they threw away the bun and put my burger on a few pieces of lettuce.

I thought it was safe now, but unfortunately I got sick...

Our server was friendly and knowledgeable. They have a dedicated GF fryer and they use Udi’s hamburger buns. However, they messed up our order and it took a long time for the food to come. When the food did come, it was just average, fine for a quick lunch but not great. I didn’t get sick and the servers were friendly but the food isn’t 5 stars.

Delicious burgers with toasted GF bun (Udi’s) and dedicated fryer for fries (medium thick cut, delicious),but not onion rings. My young celiac daughter had a hot dog which they chopped and served on GF burger bun since they don’t have GF hot dog buns. She gave it a thumbs up.

I would give this place 10 stars if I could!! We absolutely loved our lunch here after a long day at the beach. I got a grilled cheese that may have been the best I’ve ever had. The gluten free bun tasted like sourdough and they have a separate fryer for French fries (which were also delicious)! We loved it so much we wanted to come back for lunch 2 days later but it was unfortunately closed on Wednesday’s. Definitely a must!!
