Absolutely delicious gluten free bread. A separate menu just for gf items. Very friendly, helpful, and patient.
AMAZING service! I was so impressed with the selection!
I've probably eaten here at least 25 times, and never a GF problem. The ice cream (free with any meal) is a nice bonus.
My wife and I have had multiple good experiences here with both salads and sandwiches. I'm extremely gluten sensitive and have never had an issue.
There are many gluten free options at Jason's Deli! There is a separate location where the GF food is prepared, which is nice to see. Their salad bar is great, and they even have several soup options. I'll definitely be visiting more often.
They have a great salad bar & gluten free sandwiches are very tasty! I've been in the store & had delivery. Each time has been delicious and great customer service to boot.
Update: We came back to Jason's for lunch today. Gluten free food was prepared and delivered by a manager- the same person from start to finish. He stayed by us while we checked the order for accuracy. Item was clearly marked with gluten free sticker and brought in to go container to mark it as specialty. Bread is Udi's brand- which we like better than any other commercial bread. Gluten free menu is present in restaurant. Order was correct, food high quality with great taste. We will go back and continue to look for the process improvements offered by Brad. Update: I just got off the phone with the supervisor there: Brad. He's the one who answers to corporate Jason's Deli. I explained to him all my concerns and issues with our service. He has addressed issues and temporarily has only managers handling gluten free orders in an effort to provide safety to us until he is positive that his staff understands why it is such a concern. I have agreed to give them one more chance- and I will update again once we go in. Original review: Jason's has a specialized space including case with knives/prep area. The food tastes great but they don't check orders or know why gluten is such a big deal. A great menu but miscommunication and lack of common customer service reign high here. We've had more than 5 experiences there and 90% of the time there's something wrong with the gluten free order. We've received regular bread when buying gluten free. Management doesn't care about what they are doing or the importance of their area. It's a shame this location is such a disaster, because generally Jason's is great. Just go elsewhere!
Everyone is knowledgeable about celiacs! They have a separate menu, and the gf bread is great. They got me to try the veggie soup and their bean-salad and even the cookie is gf! I am very sensitive and have yet to experience a reaction to any Jason's location.
I have Celiac Disease, have eaten here before and been fine but today, even after talking with the manager who said they'd change their gloves, I got glutened. Within 10 minutes of finishing my salad I became violently ill. My day is ruined....probably my whole weekend.
They say they have gluten sensitive menu only!! There is a note on bottom of menu saying they are not for people with Celiac disease and restaurant cannot recommend persons with Celiac disease to eat their. I'm glad I saw that note I left, last thing I want too do is get sick. I have gotten really sick from cross contamination.
Very good food, many gluten free options.
While they do have gluten free bread for their sandwiches, you have to be sure that they understand cross contamination. They usually are great with allergies and celiac, however last time they contaminated my sandwich. Ended up making a new one and giving me a $10 gift card though, so they are very understanding.
I took a 10 yr old that has Celiac to the one on Hanes Mall Blvd. They have a GF menu but when I asked about the prep, the manager told me that there is no way they can say GF. It is made on the same surfaces and next to all the regular breads. If you are simply eating GF by choice then ok but for gluten allergy / stay away!
Love that when I asked for gluten free they brought out a completely different table top, changed gloves completely, got vegetables and meats from a separate container, everything was completely separate from other areas and they put it in a closed container rather than on a plate to prevent cross contamination that way. The sandwich was really good too
The food is great, and no reaction yet. I'd give it 5 stars for quality and service, yet I rushed in saw gluten-free and didn't question how my sandwich was made. I may feel fine, but I wouldn't risk it. I may not be going again :(. But they were very friendly. Maybe if you nicely asked what they could prepare the most conscientiously with extra care, like a chicken salad I could see them doing the best they can.
Definitely would recommend. They offer options galore. It was nice to have someone who was capable of catering to my specific needs. They also have a way of not cross contaminating the sandwiches in their ovens. They are huge BTW so if you have a small stomach like I do. I would recommend half or a Salad or soup. I am definitely coming back again!
The gluten free bread for my sandwich was one of the best I've had. A great choice for a GF lunch!
Good gluten free lunch option.
They have GF sandwich bread (either Udi's or Rudi's - I couldn't tell which one she said), so I ordered a GF muffaletta. When the cashier asked if I wanted it toasted, I expressed concern about it being toasted where other breads are toasted, and she assured me it was done separately and would be GF. She was very helpful and knowledgeable.
Enjoyed a gluten free California Club sandwich on Udis bread, with chips and pickle. They did ask if gluten allergy or preference. Charged 59 cents extra for GF bread. They do not have a gluten free toaster, would have given a higher score if they did. I did not have my sandwich toasted. Self service, free vanilla and chocolate soft serve after your meal is a nice bonus. They had a disclaimer on a sticker on sandwich wrap; they do not recommend for celiacs.
Not bad. A.few gluten free options but not many. The girl who took our order was very lazy and acted like she didnt care. i had to tell it multiple times i cant afford a mistake and when my food came it came with a gf note that noted that it was gf. I didnt get sick here
I love the gluten free sandwich bread. When I call in the staff is sure to ask if the gluten free bread is a choice or an allergy so they know how to handle it. I also love that they have gluten free cookies by the check out. Sure it's always the same snickerdoodle, but it's good and I like having that option available.
Jason's Deli is a paradox of a business. They make it seem as though they want to serve the gluten free and take care of that customer base, which they deliberately attract. However, upon actually looking into it and attempting to order they as very firm about their lack of allergy sensitive facilities and interest in making accommodations. I wouldn't go again, as I was informed that when the manager is not in the staff do not know about gluten. That being said, the salad I did eat was fine.
If you have celiacs, I do not suggest eating at this particular Jason's Deli! Some JD are really good about it, this one not so much. They are not knowledgeable about celiacs/Gluten free! They wear gloves... but they don't change their gloves! They go from making a regular sandwich to making something gluten free with the same gloves!🙄. However, in their defense they will tell you they are "gluten sensitive friendly" before you order, but only if you tell them you have celiacs. I do agree with the other review in that they do seem a bit put back if you question what they are doing while they make your food but in the end try to be accommodating.... I'm guessing only if you are nice. I had to walk them through how to make my salad 🥗 with please change your gloves, get lettuce from the back, open a new bag of chips or just give me a factory closed bag etc... etc... but in the end it was worth it to me even if they were upset because at least I didn't get sick!
Although they are not a completely gluten free facility, and there are the requisite warnings on the menu and packaging, it was a great experience. The manager overheard me ordering and asked if I had celiac, which I do. He offered to personally make my sandwich. Also made sure my bread was safe to be toasted (it wasn't a slot toaster so I felt comfortable). The whole time he took the opportunity to teach the staff about what he was doing and why. One of the best and most comfortable experiences I've had at a "regular" restaurant. Highly recommend!
We arrived and as we ordered we informed the cashier of my son's Celiac. She make a note to change gloves. Etc. However, my husband then viewed a preparer handle his potato, then some pasta, and then put cheese on his potato. We told a manager and they immediately made him a new one including going into the back to get fresh cheese. As a note: their cheese is kept right next to their pasta so they said just make sure we ask each time and they are happy to accommodate.
Excellent! Always very attentive to my needs.
