They have GF sandwich bread (either Udi's or Rudi's - I couldn't tell which one she said), so I ordered a GF muffaletta. When the cashier asked if I wanted it toasted, I expressed concern about it being toasted where other breads are toasted, and she assured me it was done separately and would be GF. She was very helpful and knowledgeable.
Love the stuffed baked potato. Best I ever had.
It was good. I had the veggie soup and quinoa mango salad. It was decent but not really that tasty. I didn't get sick at all.
I gave Jason's an extra star just for having GF bread and working to provide several options. My sister just LOVES the deli, but I'm not overly impressed with the quality of the offerings. It's okay, just not stellar. They do make up for that with a larger quantity of offerings. My stomach did get a little unhappy after eating here once, but no issues since then. I would not call it celiac friendly.
After seeing this we are going there now. http://www.jasonsdeli.com/system/files/private/menus/jasons_deli_gluten_sensitive_menu_1.pdf
I have read your reviews. I am coming in to own to visit my father. I have celiac. I don't know the area and hoping that your food is good. I am hoping someone reading this can tell me were can I go to buy gluten free food. I also need fresh meat with out dye. My family lives or Orlando, around Longwood Fla. Please if anyone can help me in my travels it would be great. Remember put the address down. I will have to use my GPS and somebody's car. Thanks everyone Tracy Email [email protected]
I found the deli using this app. I went at lunchtime and the place was packed (always a good sign!). I ordered a sandwich on toasted GF bread- delicious! I LOVE going to a restaurant and being able to order a sandwich. This is such a rare treat for us GF eaters! I definitely recommend Jason's Deli! 303 E. GF Chicago Sandwich ♥
Not bad. A few gluten free options but not many. The girl who took our order was very lazy and acted like she didnt care. I had to tell her multiple times I cant afford a mistake and when my food came it came with a GF note that noted that it was GF. But for Celiacs ABSOLUTELY NOT! They told me that if you are Celiac or have a very high cross contamination issue they wouldn't reccamend it because all the food was prepared in the same kitchen and same surface. I didnt get sick here but I DONT think I will be returning because of careless people working there.
Do not trust this location for Celiac-safe prep. I drove 20 min off route to get my daughter soup & a grilled sandwich & the order was cross contaminated. Servers were dismissive of my concerns & stickers on food containers released them of all responsibility to try the few precautions it would take to be Celiac safe. They even put many bags of saltine crackers in with the order. 😡I’ve had great experiences getting Celiac-safe food at other Jason’s locations. I will never return to this location.
Spoke with mgr Alex over phone to order lunch to be delivered to off-site mtg the next day. He understood the importance of avoiding cross-contamination for my food and assured me of their processes. Ate the Papa Verde sweet potato and cup of vegetable soup I’d ordered the next day at lunch. Felt fine when headed home, so called to thank Alex. He told me he had personally attended to seeing my Food was prepared in safety. Wish I lived closer to this restaurant bc they make me feel safe abt eating there even though not a dedicated gluten-free facility.
Always very careful with my food: have never had a problem here. Is cross-contamination possible? Yes. I would know as I have a serious contact allergy to wheat, but the salad bar is dangerous and asking for trouble. Staff are well-trained and food direct from the kitchen is very well-controlled as are catered items.
I have always enjoyed eating here and felt safe, but not anymore. I went to this Jason's Deli about a week ago and ordered a sandwich on gluten free bread and specified a gluten allergy. They took none of the normal precautions that I had seen previously. The person making my sandwich did not change gloves, he threw my bread down on the toaster belt without a tray then put it directly onto the board that they make all of the other sandwiches on and used all of the same utensils. I spoke to the manager and he remade my sandwich properly, but unless I stand there and watch them prepare my food I can no longer trust them unfortunately.
This used to be my go to restaurant. Lately, in the past 12 months, I’ve wondered if the employees understand Gf. I’ve gotten sick a few times but I can’t quite figure out if it’s gluten as I also have other allergies. The staff doesn’t communicate well. Proceed with caution.
Gluten free menu. Food is good
Has been hit or miss. Ordering online gives the option of asking for staff to change gloves. When I ordered in the restaurant I asked if something was gluten free and met with two I don't knows.
Staff was nice and knowledgeable. They were more than happy to answer questions and knew the answers, which made us feel comfortable. Made my daughters sandwich separate and gave her separate gf chips in their own bag. She did not get sick and she has celiac and is sensitive to cc.
No GF options at this one
The food was good, but I started feeling sick before we left and was told when asked, that they are only gluten sensitive and can not guarantee CC.
Gluten free bread offered, but no dedicated toaster, knife or cutting board, so cross-contamination likely. The notice they put on their gluten free sandwich containers states that they do not recommend it for people with celiac disease. Wish they’d go the extra mile and have dedicated equipment.
No GF options like most Jasons Deli
Healthy food fast - and gluten free options...what more couple you want? This is a Deli - so first you order, and they bring it to your table pretty quickly. It’s nice have a place I can get a (half or whole sandwich) on delicious gluten free bread. We usually get the managers special - half sandwich, one-trip salad bar, chips and free ice cream for $8.69. I am very sensitive to gluten and never had an issue in my two visits. Other popular options are pizza and there many soups.
We have taken our whole family here, even in times that were really busy. They have always done an amazing job. Our GF meals come out all wrapped up, and have always been safe for us. Plus the food tastes great! Amazing sandwiches and salads. The kids love the free self-serve ice cream, which is also GF and you can put in a cup. A nice treat for kids who can eat dairy but not gluten.
Potato and salad ok. Staff told me that they toast sandwich bread in a shared toaster.
An option but take precautions! There are gluten free options but the restaurant has an official statement denoting it’s not celiac friendly due to cross contamination risks. Out of need for food, I did eat there after talking with the staff. The restaurant wasn’t busy and my meal was prepared under the gluten free preparations procedures. My meal arrived in a close container as well. I did not get sick. Gluten free bread was available. Other gf options included salads and baked potatoes. Sides include chips and which are prepackaged (not prepared on site) and certified gluten free.
DO NOT EAT HERE IF YOU HAVE CELIAC. Absolutely terrible about cross contamination at this location.
Same great options as all JD. GF bread, salads, potatoes, & dessert
My son was glutened at this location. It's a shame, because online ordering provides an option to request a glove change and the "gluten sensitive" menu includes many options. They offer an Udi's prepackaged snickerdoodle. Although I ordered a cup of soup online with the glove change request from the "gluten sensitive" menu, two prepackaged saltine crackers were included with it. I wasn't worried about that, because they were wrapped, but it just shows the lack of care.
Love Jason's Deli salad bar, chicken salad, etc.
I did not eat here because the staff told me if I was really celiac this was not a safe place to eat.
Separate gluten free menu, food comes out in separate container to avoid CC. Udi bread for sandwiches. Definitely worth it.
Have always had great service here. They are very knowledgeable about their menu and have a separate Gluten Free menu that has at least 1 kind of everything (I think they actually have 2 soups). My gluten Free kid loves the Gluten Free chicken nuggets and grilled cheese.
