The staff understood my needs, without an explanation. The corn beef sandwich was delicious. Stayed away from the salad bar, likelihood of cross contamination was high as I watched when small children were helping themselves. I don’t view that as a negative, because it is a salad bar.
Asked for my potato and mentioned gluten free/sensitive as suggested on the menu right above me. Manager snapped back at me on the gluten free request. Obviously had no idea what I was requesting. Ordered one of the potatoes from their online gluten sensitive menu. After that switched to just a plain potato with sour cream and butter. So the cheaper option plain Jane but still charged for the pollo Mexicano.

It is a nice place with a number if build your own sandwich options but it has the feel of a fast food joint. They charge more for crappy gluten-free bread and say it is not a celiac friendly place. Free ice cream for dessert but there are cones there, with crumbs everywhere. Good for GF by choice but not for celiac.
You better watch them like a hawk. I called ahead of time to make sure they were prepared to handle gluten “allergy” (since most don’t understand celiac). They explained their procedures and it sounded good so we tried it. As I watched them make my daughter’s sandwich, they changed gloves and put fresh paper down, but then they were going to cut the sandwich with a visibly contaminated knife. I asked, “is that a clean knife?”. He lied straight to my face and said, “yes”. I said, “I can tell it is not clean, there’s food all over it, please go and get a clean knife”. He did get another knife, but I can’t believe he lied straight to my face.
None of the sandwiches are AS good on it but they do carry Udi’s gf bread. They have a gf menu and mark things clearly. Soup options, salad options and their potatoes are a great go to... I order a half cause they are huge. I even got a gf French dip. Wasn’t the same by any means but it’s the first one I have had since I went GF and i had no regrets.
Their menu slightly points out what is “gluten sensitive” but they note there could be cross contamination. I got a salad and a cup of soup that was noted as gluten free. Both tasted good to me and i didn’t have any reactions.
Order taker had to check with manager and line staff on Celiac protocol but everything was done correctly by the line staff. I love Jason’s Deli...only place I have found to get a real sandwich on GF bread. Plus the free ice cream is gluten free 😁

I wasn’t going to rate, but with all the positive reviews, I felt inclined to share that I got sick- had the loaded sweet potato, all GF ingredients.
Not sure. GF bread was done. I’m not sure about cross contamination, they go out of their way to tell you that their GF menu is not for those with Celiac or allergies. I have Non Celiac GS, my daughter has Celiac, she was fine, I was not. I had a half sandwich and salad bar. She had a sandwich. That leads me to believe I was likely glutoned on the salad bar. Since it was on the GF menu, I assumed everything was gluten-free except for the obvious like croutons. But I’m horribly bloated and gassy, my guess would be that not everything on the salad bar is gluton free, and my guess is that it was the salad dressing or the bean salad.
I’ve eaten here several times and have never had problems with cross- contamination from eating their gluten- free bread on my sandwiches. They make a point to change their gloves and package my sandwich separately and not on a plate.
Jasons deli is one of our favorite gluten free options. However, as with all Jasons Delis, you need to ask for gluten free and tell them it’s for allergies. They are very accommodating, and I always ask them to make sure they are taking the peanut butter, jelly, fruit, salad stuff etc from a new container from the back and not from the open bar behind the counter. They are more than happy to do it. We have eaten at this one and had no issues, but I still explain just to make sure. We have a very sensitive celiac 12 yr old and she loves Jasons
Not sure why everyone is recommending the local Jason's Deli as okay for celiacs. My husband and I went a few weeks ago, I ordered off the gf menu and made very clear that everyone needed to change their gloves. The cashier stated it wasn't a problem. I watched them make my sandwhich - not a single person changed their gloves, they used the same knife to cut my sandwich as everyone else's, and they didn't change the brown paper they make the sandwiches on either. DEFINITELY NOT CELIAC SAFE.
Gluten-free sandwiches were served on normal bread, even after we were assured gluten sensitive prep area would be used and gloves changed. Not Udi’s, which should have been our first clue, and spongy texture in the mouth was too late. We were glutened.
I love a good sandwich, since I don’t get them regularly. I am celiac so the store bought bread is always very mediocre. They always have super fresh Udi’s bread! My school and vendors even order my special sandwich box when they do a luncheon for us during events. When I go in, I always see that they make my sandwich on a back clean counter on paper to be sure of no cross contamination. They definitely do their best to be sure it’s safe.
I love the options they provide here for their celiac customers! Sometimes they are unaware of the extra precautions they need to take when preparing gluten free food, so make sure to remind them, and they should be more than happy to help. They do to-go orders, and they are very family friendly!
When I spoke to staff about gluten free, they told me it wasn’t safe for those with celiac.
I went there and ordered gluten free bread and tomato soup. I verified again that both were gluten free but i was sick after eating there. I think it was cross contamination which is hard in that type of restaurant
Excellent staff and options! Very careful with gluten but since it’s a deli there’s always a risk. We’ve eaten here several times and neither of us has had an exposure. My daughter loves the free icecream!
I go up to order, have an idea of what I might want (not certain because GF isn't listed on their big menu on the wall) so I ask the cashier if he knows the GF options. He said "no, I don't know what's GF. Take this menu (he hands me a small one from behind the counter that DOES list Gluten Sensitive) and go to the back of the line." The line was all the way back to the front door, so I was not about to wait ANOTHER 15 mins in line. Their protocols for GF do not seem safe anyway. Everything is in one big cluttered line. Think Subway but way bigger and messier. I do not recommend this place if you have Celiac Disease.
They offer GS but not guaranteed non contamination there is a disclaimer on package and on menu if you have Celiac disease the GF/GS is for thoes sensitive to Gluten not with Celiac disease.
Not safe at all. You can see them making the food right there and they don't even try. It's disappointing since they know what to do, their website and other restaurants know, they just don't do it. Didn't change gloves, used the same knives, did not put a clean paper down.. the list goes on. They weren't even busy so they clearly don't care.
Found this place through this app with good reviews while on vacation. Walking in ordering a gluten free bread for my sandwich they ask “is it preference or allergy” I said allergy and she explained some people don’t tell them because they toast the bread in a gluten free only toaster. Which is great! This place has other items on the menu but if you’re looking for a gluten free sandwich this is the place to go. It was delicious and all the staff were helpful and friendly.
They have never messed up my GF order and are very careful to get it right. They have HUGE baked potatoes and a few other GF options that are delicious
If you want GF, your options here are salads. They have a “Gluten Free” menu and it lists a variety of salads. The most interesting item on that specific menu had ranch dressing in it, ranch HAS WHEAT! No GF bread or pasta anywhere. I love going to Jason’s Deli for salad, but I don’t consider it GF friendly. The service is great and everything always looks clean.
Staff did not have a clue what gluten free meant. Toasted gf bread through the regular toaster. Cross contamination everywhere. Will not be returning as daughter was glutened. Staff needs to be retrained on allergies.
I always get chicken salad on toasted gluten free bread with gluten free chips and occasionally a gf snickerdoodle cookie. They always ask if it’s preference or allergy and I’ve never had any issue after eating. They have a drive thru which makes eating gf even easier.
