Sometimes I have a reaction, sometimes I don't. More often than not they aren't careful enough with orders so I get sick. I did last night despite indicating gluten allergy etc. Don't recommend unless you can physically be in the store to watch and make sure no cross contamination
Ate there twice the past two days - feel great. You can see the prep area and the crew both times did a great job of cleaning stations and using a designated GF cutting knife. They also use a separate plastic cutting board they put down after they clean to make sure there is an extra barrier of distance on the sandwich prep surface. I would not recommend a hot sandwich as they throw gluten bread on the griddle along with the meat and cheese.
1st time going to a Jersey Mike’s. This location not a dine-in. Order through app or kiosk. Before ordering I checked to make sure we could safely eat (celiac). I ordered the Italian on GF (Udi’s) bread and my son had the BLT (GF on Udi’s), chips and a soda. All was well! Neither one of us had symptoms of glutening & this was during a lunch rush. The guy working there said they change gloves, separate slicer, cleaned work space.
We go here all the time with no worries! They are happy to change gloves, fully wipe surfaces (including the meat/cheese slicer), get new utensils to cut the sandwich, and get ingredients from the back or condiments from a squeeze bottle instead of a tub. I’ve only ever had experiences where the employee was ready and willing to make my sandwich safe for me. PLUS you can buy a sub in small, regular, OR even giant because the bread comes giant!
They were very rude when I asked for a gf sandwich. We walked out and will not be back!
