Definitely NO gluten free menu. Dinner salad is all one can have with celiac. Waitstaff/bartender annoyed with asking about GF recomendations/cross contamination ect. Never will return :/

I’ve eaten at Johnny’s many times and always felt great after! Their fish tacos are GF and amazing. I always feel confident ordering because the servers are so knowledgeable about cc and can give a full rundown of the menu.

Nice restaurant with tasty food. Limited number of items could be made GF (several fish of the day, fish tacos, caeser salad, ceviche, 1 desert). Staff seemed knowledgeable.

Tried once so far - no reaction

Our waiter was amazing and took great care to ensure the prevention of cross contamination. There were enough options on the menu makes GF. Food was delicious (halibut, ribeye, Louie salad)! Limited non-seafood choices, but what else would you want Harborside?!

We had an overall good experience at Johnny's. Our server was knowledgeable about what is, or could be made, GF. Note, we were told (when we specifically asked), that they DO NOT have a dedicated GF fryer. I don't know if that means they really do not have a second fryer period, or if the GF fryer is at risk for cross contamination, as someone else mentioned. (Our server was aware that we had celiacs in our party). Offered GF buns for all sandwiches (though nothing special). It seemed that our three celiacs all felt OK after this meal; I suspect it can be celiac safe if you ask your questions and feel comfortable with the server and his/her answers.

We had the most lovely dinner at Johnny's Harborside. The atmosphere is lovely. The gluten-free options are clearly marked on the main menu. They do have a separate fryer which they will warn you is side-by-side with the main fryer so they can not guarantee cross contamination won't happen. Our waitress marked our order Gluten Free as an added protection. They offer several dessert options as well.

I am extremely disappointed with my visit here. I have celiac disease and made sure to let the server know before ordering. I ordered a steak and veggies and when the food came out, I noticed a noodle mixed in with my veggies. When the server came by I notified her and said I needed my food to be remade. She then proceeded to ask me if I am sure one of my daughters noodles from across the table didn't somehow fall on my plate! Basically insinuating that I put it there. Are you kidding me?! How incredibly rude and insulting.By this time, I didn't even want to eat anymore but she then asked if I wanted them to replate it and just put new veggies on there. I told her I needed the whole thing remade to avoid any possible cross contamination. They remade it and it came out fine but didn't do anything to make up for the way I was treated. I cannot even believe the lack of professionalism here. I will never be going back.

Gluten-free options were plenty and the cioppino was delicious. They even added a nice big gluten-free roll for dipping. I will definitely be coming back. Didn't get sick at all. Server knew exactly what I needed and my family ate safely.

Very helpful staff! Only thing I would change is educating the staff on the gluten free ciders and beer. The gf beer they have is made from barley. The Sam Adams organic cider is safe though:) I had the fish tacos with the chips and salsa on the side since they are fried in the same oil so my fiancée ate those. The kitchen was very clean as well which is always a good sign they care

Laura the Manager came to greet us soon after the food was delivered to see if we were being well taken care of; the kindness and concern was genuine and so appreciated. Our server, Dominic was Amazing and helped us navigate the menu with ease. He was gracious, kid friendly and really made the experience enjoyable. The steamed mussels were made GF and were so amazing we had two orders. I had the the sautéed sea bass and it was fantastic, fresh and perfectly cooked. For those that have partners who are not GF, Mike recommends the tempura avocado stuffed with shrimp and crab. It made me envious- his plate resembled those delicious pictures from food & wine! Yumtastic!

Totally impressed. Huge gluten free menu and the kids loved everything. Too bad there is only one location. Will return for sure as a destination restaurant. Well done!

Had a great gluten free menu, staff was really understanding and helpful to keep me safe. They even mentioned they have a separate fryer for fries but because of how sever I am they recommended not since their two fryers sit next to each other and can not guarantee that it is gluten free 100%. Such a great feeling to go somewhere and know that I can be taken seriously and not as "trend diet" thank you to Johnny's for caring! :) for sure will be a regular of this place.

Very knowledgable staff, plenty of gluten free options, sensitive to allergic issues, kids menu also flexible to become gluten free, chicken was a bit spicy for the kids but was fixed for us. Side orders, fries and deserts also gluten free. Great experience.

Great GF menu (including almost every dessert). One owner is a celiac so they totally get what's needed safety wise, Great fresh fish - I think you can even get a burger on a GF bun. I wish the soups were GF but there are so many other food options I feel guilty complaining.
