We always enjoy Kilwins when we are in town and have never had any issues. We love the ice cream (in bowls) and great assortment of fudge.

They’re making waffle cones so there’s likely gluten everywhere. I had no idea if any ice creams were GF. Only customer in there. I waited for 5 minutes and left as both workers completely ignored my existence.

They did a horrible job at communicating. They don’t seem to care about costumers with special requests. I never did find out whether they could offer anything gluten free.

Went into Kilwins yesterday evening before realizing they were on this site. I asked a girl behind the counter if any if their items were gluten free. She looked confused and asked me what gluten was. When I explained she told me that if I selected something she could go and look for the box it came in and read the ingredients. I decided it wasn't worth taking a chance. I think management needs to proper train their employees.

Cross contamination not good for strict gluten free

A girl's got to have chocolate! We stepped into this tempting downtown store bc my husband loves homemade fudge. I figured there would be nothing for me but was pleasantly surprised when I was directed to a small table w prepackaged specialty dark GF & DF chocolates. Expensive but it satisfied my craving & didn't make me sick at all. HAPPY!
Employees stated nothing they offer was safe for a person with celiac. The ice cream isn’t safe due to scooping into cones and getting a new tub out wasn’t an option. All prepackage items had a disclaimer about being prepared in a shared facility and with shared equipment (so maybe ok but high risk). I would not recommend someone with celiac visiting this location.

Staff was able to answer allergen questions however there could be cross contamination from the shared scoops

Although their packaged candies are processed in a facility that share equipment, they make their Carmel apples fresh, on site daily. After watching them confirm their ingredient list in person, they confirmed their Carmel used for their Carmel apples is GF.
We tried the apples and they were delicious - no issues.

It seems like very little businesses actually understand gluten intolerance or celiac here in Key West. I had no luck here, as the worker did not know what we were trying to say when we said we were gluten free. She asked her coworker and the coworker said "the sorbet might be ok?". Original worker I spoke with got out the nutritional facts binder and unfortunately all the ice cream was cross contaminated with wheat as its processed in the same facility. What a shame. At least the staff were tolerant and tried to be understanding

Kilwins has GF flavors. I stick to the sorbets. Staff say other flavors don’t contain wheat. But not sure they are completely GF as they don’t say that on the carton. Either way I’ve had the sorbets lots of times and done well.
