Both GF and non-GF in what I believe to be a small shared kitchen. They offer GF Lobster Rolls, Shrimp Rolls, Crab Rolls, Clam Chowder, Lobster Bisque. Cape cod chips and Maine sodas. Pricey, but not bad. I got the Lobster Roll Trio sampler at the 3 different butters were great.
Had a fine experience here with my celiac partner. The price is insane, and the food is not bad. Unfortunately, we could only get cold lobster rolls because the hot lobster rolls get cross contamination. I paid 90 bucks for two small lobster rolls and a small soup. At least I got two bags of chips for free. Crazy. We were both hungry afterwards. There is a separate station for GF.
I had the lobster roll flight. The different flavors were just what I was craving. I also enjoy their chowders and bisques. I would love larger servings but my meal was filling. They changed gloves and made sure everything was safe before making my petite sandwiches. The included chip choices were also gluten free.
Changed gloves when preparing my food. Advised warm lobster had risk of cross contamination which was appreciated. I felt the service was good and answered questions happily. Hate when a place charges extra for GF roll, $2 and didn't mention there was an upcharge. Slaw I liked, hubby didn't. Definitely pricey: $69 for 2 rolls, 1 lobster & 1 crab, plus 2 sides and 2 drinks. We both went with the extra meat and wished we hadn't because we were so full!
They had the rolls today! They asked same grill or separate, and I’m not typically CC sensitive. Be more assertive if you are! I got the Luke’s Trio: shrimp, crab and lobster!
Okay so I will say, I’d prefer the lettuce wrapped lobster roll from Legal. The bun was awesome, the seafood itself was very mid. 5/10 solely because they had the gluten free bun. Paid 39$ for the trio GF and water.
We went to Luke's specifically for the gf lobster roll, and walked a long way to get there, lol. When we finally did, they were OUT of the gf rolls, sadly, but their lobster bisque and clam chowder are both gf, so that saved us. I had lobster bisque that was great, and my husband had the regular lobster roll. We didn't realize it would be cold, but it was SO flavorful! I got to pick some lobster from it, and the seasoning was just perfect. I'd love to go back when they have gf bread in stock!
Visiting Boston and wanted a GF lobster roll. Great options here. We got to try the trio roll with lobster, crab and shrimp as well as the lobster sampler with different seasonal flavors. Ordered through grub hub then called to discuss GF precautions, and they were very proactive.
I don’t know why Boston celiacs keep ranking these places highly when they won’t keep basic guidelines for cross contamination.
People: if they won’t guarantee no cross contamination or won’t use a separate space and utensils, it is NOT celiac friendly. Stop ranking these places and risking other people’s health.
Had the lobster roll and poppyseed slaw...both were delicious. They tell you the roll is prepared on a separate table and grill, but of course there’s always the risk of cross contamination. Understandable for any establishment. Nice treat to be able to have a grilled lobster roll rather than lobster over greens.
Amazing!!!!! Their chowder is gluten free (the person who makes it has a daughter with celiac). The lobster roll was perfect. The bread was some of the best I’ve had! The staff was very aware of celiac and cross contamination, they wiped everything down before making my food and they changed their gloves. Everything was clearly labeled. They say they can’t guarantee there won’t be CC but they take all the necessary steps and I didn’t get sick :)
Absolutely delicious!!! Gluten free bread available for lobster rolls
Tried this place first day in a Boston with my husband and really enjoyed it. I had a million questions and they were patient and answered them all. I got the disclaimer that they cannot promise a complete 100% gluten free meal because there is gluten in the area and they use a shared press however they stated they had never had any problems and service a lot of Celiacs with success. They said they clean the press well, change gloves and do all there best efforts to avoid cross contamination. I asked if they could wrap mine in aluminum foil before pressing it as an extra precaution but they said they did not have any unfortunately. They gave me quite a few options if I didn’t feel super safe with having my roll pressed such as having it as a salad or just having it cold with warm butter poured over it. I opted for the cold Trio with warm butter just because it was my first day in Boston and wanted to decrease the chances of cross contamination as much as possible. I also had the clam chowder which was amaaaaazing. They took care of my meal carefully and I was super thankful for there patience!!
Pricey but worth it. The gluten free buns are great. The staff gives the standard we cannot guarantee it!s safe but it has not made sick and I am very sensitive.
The staff was so unbelievably patient, helpful, and knowledgable. When I asked about the gluten free rolls, they proceeded to tell me the steps they would take to avoid any potential cross contamination. While they went to get more rolls from the back, they told me about all the other options I could get including the soups, which they purchase locally from a guy whose daughter is celiac. This was all done during the lunch rush hour to boot.....and it was delicious
Our server was almost as happy as I was, to be able to serve a fabulous, safe GF lobster roll and clam chowder. I’ll go back every time I get to the city!
The business owner's daughter has celiac so the staff are very understanding of gluten free. They'll explain how the food is prepped and what is safe or unsafe. The buns are tasty and don't feel like an after-thought. Also a great business to support with delicious food! The only baffling thing is why they keep the gluten free part a secret. Put it on your menu somewhere!!
