Max's Wine Dive

Showed up with my girlfriend near closing time. She's not gf, I have celiac and other dietary limitations. Ordered the gluten free friend chicken and mashed potatoes... A little pricey but this isn't -really- a wine dive. Server and main chef were very accommodating though one kitchen employee was grumbling about how close to closing it was (we sat viewing the kitchen...). I didn't get ill and the fried chicken was great. Non-gf GF loved it too.

Amazing GF fried chicken with knowledgeable staff. Would recommend asking about other fried things besides the chicken as some are in the fryer with flour. Happy hour every day 4-7!

Second time having the gf country fried chicken and it’s to DIE FOR! They have a dedicated fryer and the sides of potatoes and collard greens were scrumptious. I don’t know how they can make the breading so crispy and flaky but it’s simply delectable. They have a honey chipotle sauce for dipping on the side that ignited my tastebuds in a world of salty, crispy, sweet, and tangy. I’m truly thankful for Max’s Wine Dive for their dedication to celiac safe cuisine that makes me feel like a normal diner.

The fried chicken is amazing! I get it every time I go. The staff is excellent with Celiac and use a dedicated fryer. They also have excellent drink irons and the atmosphere is chill.

Their GF jalapeño buttermilk fried chicken was amazing! We also had a great salad with huge jumbo shrimp. Great bubbles list too. They were very careful with our GF order and told us the round plates indicate GF while the square are not gf. Several people came to check on our order and reassure us throughout the eve.

Gluten free fried chicken, and it is good. Huge portions! You will take some home and then come back soon. Served on mashed potatoes and collard greens. it makes me crazy just describing it.

Have been glutened the past 4 times I’ve eaten here. Chef comes out each time and talks about how they made sure it was gluten free & safe, unfortunately I still get sick.

I’ve eaten at MWD’s around the state regularly, and it seems they commonly have new kitchen staff regardless of location. More than once I’ve seen a newbie drop normal chicken in the “gluten free” fryer and the staff had to spend an hour cleaning the machine & reheating oil.

As much as the gesture is appreciated, you can’t truly clean a deep fryer in that short an amount of time. The amount of times I’ve been CC’d here shows.
