Brought it out with gloves on and were very careful and aware. Tasty!
Service was really good. GF pizza crust was good.
It was a holiday weekend and it was as if they had no servers or cooks in the kitchen. We waited an hour for our food and the GF pizza was just ok. Certainly not worth the wait.
Both my son and I became sick after eating the gluten free pizza. He has wheat induced asthma and I have celiac. He had to use his inhaler many times and I had a very bad night. I believe cross contamination so beware.
While I appreciate the dedicated GF preparation and a pizza I didn’t get sick from, the crust was nothing to write home about and got soggy at the end. Also the pizza sauce is pretty bland. We don’t have this chain in MI but I’ve had way better GF pizzas elsewhere. We’ll pass in the future
Let me start by saying I have a Mellow Mushroom near my home, so I had an idea of what to expect. However, our server must have had an off night. I ordered a gluten and dairy free pizza with 3 toppings. It seemed to take a little longer than usual so I was really disappointed when my pizza came and there was regular cheese on it. Since I am lactose intolerant, eating cheese tends to flare my fibro. So i asked for it to be remade and ordered a salad in the meantime. When the next pizza came out it only had two of my three toppings on it. At that time, the manager came out and apologized and said he would take the pizza and salad off of our bill. Well when it was time to go, the server brought us our bill for the full amount. We explained what the manager had said, so he went to see. Then we asked for a container for my salad, pizza, and drink to go. He only brought pizza box. After a few more tries we were good. I gave it four stars because the manager comped the pizza and salad and having eaten at the local establishment, I knew this was not the norm.
The waiter did not know much about gluten free. He stated follow what the menu has listed. I ordered gluten free pizza with vegetables. When he brought it to the table, it was on a tray with 3 other pizzas. All of the pizza pans where touching. Then when he put the pizza down his thumb was on the pizza.
I am a very sensitive celiac and didn't get sick here. I had the cosmic karma pizza and it was yummy.
The pizza here is good but as all gluten-free food, a bit pricey. They don’t have very many choices for gluten free though, and the pizza crust isn’t very good. I would say that if you want pizza and needed something to eat quickly, this would be the place to go. I wasn’t affected by this restaurant but then again I only have an intolerance to gluten and am not celiac. This place may not be safe for celiacs,so be careful.
Had the gluten free pizza crust with a few toppings. It was pretty good. Would go back next time we are in town.
I ate here on August 9th for the second time in 2 years while we were on vacation. Their gluten free menu is very limited with a 10" gluten free pizza; however, that suited me just fine. They make their own GF crust, and the pizza was great! If you are looking for GF pizza, I would definitely recommend Mellow Mushroom. If you are looking for GF variety, you might try a different restaurant.
Great pizza and atmosphere!! Felt good after eating and we got to walk around and enjoy the town! I have celiac and it's always hard to travel but this made my night!
Always amazing pizza and Celiac safe! Delicious!!
Their pizza is my all time favorite from just about anywhere!!
Great pizza! Appreciated the effort they went to to make sure their spinach salad was Celiac-safe as well -- spoke with the manager, a call was made to confirm one of the ingredients, all was well. Great customer service and good food!
We didn't get sick but this was not a good pizza. We have grown accustomed to getting high quality gluten free pizza from MM, but this one was cold by the time it got to us. And it was probably cold because it wasn't completely cooked before they took it out. They were very understanding and offered to take it back, but I am not one to send stuff back after it is brought out to us. We got a discount but would rather have had a good pizza.
delicious gf pizza with lots of grown up options and very reasonable price for gf.
Great experience. Pizza was ok- did not get glutened, so all in all it was good.
Good service Gluten Free Pizza was small but good
I had the House Special and it was amazing. I've eaten at Mellow Mushroom several times and have never had a problem. I highly recommend it!!
They have a separate kitchen for gluten free. Pizza is the only option. They use smart flour gluten free crust. Multiple topping options. Ordered the mighty meaty and was delicious.
Awesome pizza great service. The ingredients for the crust were on the menu along with their policy.
GF pizzas with a really good crust--
great awareness for prep of gf items. server was awesome and wanted to give us a separate box for our gf pizza...impressive and so hard to find such good knowledge and understanding!
Service could have been a little better. House salad was good and the gluten free pizza was tasty - and a good size, big enough to share.
One of the best gluten free pizzas I have ever had! Friendly staff! I highly recommend it!
Delicious gluten free pizza!
Amazing best gluten free pizza I've ever had at a restaurant. They even use a separate oven for the orders!
Lots of gf pizza choices, but not real crispy or flavorful. Ok but not great!
Poor service. The person serving us had no experience and customer service from the server was awful. Cheese Pizza was ok for the kids. I ordered the GF white pizza which was flavorless.
Great toppings, ok GF crust. Definitely have had better, but while visiting Gatlinburg from out of town it was still a good find. Fun evening atmosphere!
My daughter has a lot of trouble finding places where she can eat EVERYTHING on her plate. She is gluten sensitive and has an egg allergy. She was very pleased with this place and enjoyed the food as well. She said its the best pizza she has ever ate.
Our server was very attentive, considerate and friendly, especially when it came to gf! We ordered a gf pizza to share and wanted a few toppings different which he had know problem dividing on the pizza. Nice atmosphere with TV screens for watching your favorite teams. Pizza was expensive though, watch your pocketbook!
The GF pizza was very good. The crust was crispy on the edges but still chewy inside. We asked the waitress to bake it a bit longer from experience at other MM locations. The manager (Jackson) was really attentive. He had his kitchen prepare baked chicken wings for my daughter. He brought all the containers to our table so we could check the ingredients ourselves. They were fantastic. My daughter has CD and is very sensitive. She ate every wing and had no reaction. This store went out of their way to make sure we had a great experience.
Love me some Mellow Mushroom
Love me some Mellow Mushroom
I’ve never gotten sick here and it’s totally safe. I just personally think the GF pizza sucks lol. Its flaccid and bland. Try Joseph’s or Blaze or V Pizza instead. 😂
You can have anything (in the pizza section if the menu) with a gluten free crust and dairy free cheese. I got a non gluten free pizza once but I think it was an honest mistake since I go there a lot and is the first time it happened.
This place bent over backwards to make sure we had the information we needed. My son has both celiac and type 1 diabetes. So after we ordered the gluten free pizza, I asked the server if she could find the carb count for the crust. I really confused her on that one, because she kept talking about their gluten free practices. But she said she'd find out, and then the manager and the owner both came to our table to help us. My son is usually embarrassed when I ask too many questions at a restaurant, but they made him feel important and they really took the time to listen and find the information. The manager had a background in health services, so that made my son feel more at ease that he understood the questions I was asking. In hindsight, I found the carbs on their website quicker than the manager found it in his book, but they were helpful nonetheless. My son really liked the pizza and I appreciated that they prepared it in a separate area with clean hands, new gloves, and a clean apron (according to their menu).
I’ve gone to this location twice because they boast having a celiac safe gluten free pizza. Both times I got sick, despite making the server aware of my genuine intolerance. I’ve only ever tried the pizza, not brave enough to try a salad which is the only other gluten free option
This location is closed. Too bad because I loved their gf pizza
The first time I ordered pizza I received a pizza with few toppings. I took it back & they added more toppings but did not cook it - yuck! I gave them another chance today. We ordered pizzas at work. My gf pizza was the only one not delivered. So I sat & watched everyone else eat. When they finally brought my pizza it was ice cold & the crust was not cooked. Never ordering from them again.
Best Gluten-free and Dairyfree pizza I have had! One of my favorites!
Separate safe menu—anything from the gf list is handled safely. Yummy pizza! I devoured it the one I got—feta, roasted tomatoes, pesto—mmmm
I ordered gluten free everything and I’ve been sick all afternoon. The plate I was given had about a thousand cut marks in it & the waitress didn’t use a pen and paper to take my order. I felt like she didn’t really care about getting my order right and clearly neither did the staff. The crust was GF but I don’t think they have a clue about cross contamination. I’ll never eat there again— feeling like this just isn’t worth it.
The gf pizza used to be great here but the last time I went it was barely mediocre. The options have changed and were more limited along with rude wait staff.
I changed my review yesterday because their ovens on Tuesday and began cooking the gf pizzas on the bottom conveyor belt exposing it to gluten from the other pies. Well, after contacting corporate today, within hours my husband and daughter were invited to the store to meet with the regional and corporate managers to address the issue. The GF pizzas are placed on 1" elevated screens and are now cooked on the top belt of the oven. They talked in depth about safety protocols and addressed every concern. They have taken every concern seriously. I am grateful to everyone involved.
I’m a celiac (also no dairy or soy) and got really excited when I saw all of the GF and DF options on their menu. My waitress asked if I would need my pizza prepared in a separate space and everything! However, I still felt a little weird after I left so I’m not going to call this one 100% safe.
Forget being gluten free, if you don’t want food poisoning don’t eat here!! I couldn’t even get a refund after puking my guts out from their gluten free pizza. Response to a yelp review asked me to email, but my email got no response. They don’t care about food safety, nevertheless allergies.
Some of the best pizza we have ever had! Both me and my brother have celiac, and we were impressed by how the menu writes out the gluten free procedures. They use a separate prep table, new gloves, new aprons, and separate utensils each time someone orders gluten free. Personally, I have not had pizza that tastes that good since before I was diagnosed. It was like someone took my favorite pizza and made it into a gluten free version! The crust was a little crispy, but that is to be expected of thin crust. The toppings are fresh, the atmosphere is exciting, and the servers are super friendly. 10/10 Only complaint is that it’s pretty expensive, yet still completely worth it.
Tired of self-diagnosed "Celiacs" on here giving 5 star reviews. There's gluten in this. Coming from an authentic, super sensitive Celiac, folks.
Their menu is marked with what can be made gluten-free. I had the veggie pizza. The crust was ok (cardboard texture) but I didn’t get sick and it was very filling!
Staff was very knowledgeable about celiac and the gf offerings. The server explained that not all of the typically gf items (like pineapples) are on their separate gf line but the ones indicated in the menu are (pineapples don’t belong on pizza anyway). My daughter was very pleased with both the flavor and the portion size of her small pizza. Thanks! We will return!
Ate at the bar and had no issues with gluten free pizzas. Chris was our bartender and he was awesome. Made sure everything was great. For how busy the place was we got fed pretty quickly. If Chris wasn't checking on us, the other bartender Alex was. What was just meant to be a Quick stop for pizza before a concert ended up being a really nice experience.
Mellow mushroom is always a reliable go to for me! Knowledgeable staff and you always get a sense that there is clearly a well followed allergy protocol that the employees are trained and encouraged to use.
