Waitress told me the GF pizza is made in a dedicated area where only one person makes it with new gloves, so there’s no risk of cross contamination with other people working on it. Also a separate oven it is baked in! I’d say it’s your average GF pizza, but a perfectly cooked crust. With little options for GF in this area that I’ve seen, this was great to grab a pizza I know is safe for me and go!
The waitress was very helpful when it came to gf items, even checked the drinks to make sure I could try samples/order a certain drink. The gf pizza was your typical kind, nothing too fancy - prices were a little steep but that has nothing to do with the taste or quality of gf items here.
My hubby loves pizza so when I read that Mellow Mushroom had GF pizza we had to try it. When we walked up to be seated I asked about a GF menu, one lady just kind of told us where to find the info in the menu, another gal opened it up and showed us before seating us. I ordered the shiitake mushroom pizza. The crust was good- nice crunch. This pizza had olive oil vs sauce and it was overly oily. Otherwise good- lots of mushrooms, which I LOVE! I only ate 1 piece then picked the mushrooms off the rest of the pizza and ate those.
Make sure the person at the bar knows you want the gluten free crust , the hosts are not too knowledgeable. But manager and bar tender know it really well.
I had dinner here with my family. It is right on the strip and since we were dining with our two small dogs (in strollers) we sat at street level and were attended by the bar staff. I had a gluten-free pizza which comes in 10” size only, which is perfect really. The menu tells which combinations are gluten -free, so I ordered the mighty meaty. It was delicious! The staff are very knowledgeable on their gluten-free foods. We will eat there again! My son shared it with me and he loved it too!
Stopped by the mellow mushroom here in Gatlinburg Tennessee. I went inside and I ordered a pizza and I talk to them saying have celiac disease. But I forgot to mention to the bartender that I had a gluten-free pizza in Servers didn’t tell them. With the hosts in front didn’t know is the gluten-free pizza only comes in a 10 inch crust. So I had to bring back a medium pizza because I questioned that they had a gluten-free pizza crust that big I checked their website and lo and behold. The medium pizza was only the regular stone baked pizzas. So I came back with a whole pizza and explain the situation to the bartender and she went to the manager right away and they switched it out. They let me know that the gluten-free pizza has a dedicated oven. Their staff changes the gloves and cleans the surfaces. The manager was really nice and apologized and gave me a free Coke and a gluten-free brownie. Even though there was miscommunication I still recommend this place, because first off their Merry prank’s Pizza is the bomb. In the response to this mistake was very quick didn’t argue. The manager also check the people I miscommunicated with and corrected them them immediately right in front of me.
Waiter was very helpful, although the first two times I asked, he told me the meatballs were gluten-free. Knowing how they are usually prepared I asked the third time and I’m glad I did because they had breadcrumbs in them 🤦♀ anyway, they do have a dedicated space to make the gluten-free pizzas, and my daughter enjoyed it immensely followed by a gluten-free brownie, and had no reactions, so I am still very thankful to have tried this place. As always I double and triple check everything so just do that!
Excellent! Certified GF pizza, kitchen is tested!! They have a separate gluten free prep area, separate oven, change all gloves, separate area they put the pizza when it’s ready to go to the table, separate toppings. The server explained that the pizza is actually the SAFEST option because everything else on the menu isn’t as closely monitored/separated. (Which of course is usually opposite in my experience with pizza places.) The dairy free cheese they use is amazing, gooey and melty and creamy, love it. (Brand is Follow Your Heart).
Had a late dinner here a few nights ago. Last time I ate at this location was more than 5 years ago, but they are still good with gluten free. Told them about gluten issues right up front and they assured me they could take care of me. My pizza came out first/separately with my family getting theirs right after. I believe they use a thin Udi’s crust for their pizza, but the toppings and flavor make up for that. Had the house special this time and it was delicious. A good, reliable gluten free option if you are in Pigeon Forge.
We so looked forward to our visit based on other recent reviews, but the waitress didn’t have a clue what was gluten free. She looked at me with a blank stare and when I asked her to check, it took her multiple trips to remember. Ultimately, she said none of their chicken wings nor sauces were gluten free because they come from somewhere else and they don’t know what’s in them. We’ve eaten at easily 10 other Mellow Mushrooms, and every one has had gluten free wings and sauce. So our youngest ordered a cheese pizza because it was the only meal our waitress said was gf, but he wouldn’t touch it when it came because he was nervous that they didn’t know what they were doing. I’d have given it one star, but our regular gluten pizzas were as tasty as usual.
The food was good. I didn’t get sick. I had a salad and a kosmic something pizza. They were both tasty!! (I rated this on food and celiac... however everything was dirty. The menus were gross. The table was dirty. My wine came with food particles on the glass. The rolled silverware had dried food on it. The floor was dirty.)
Had no problem ordering a gluten free pizza and had zero reactions
We didn't plan on eating here, but the day got rearranged so we decided to get pizza knowing it was a safe option and there are very little on the parkway. Wish I would have read the reviews. It's me and my kids and they seat us in the bar. There are tons of seats open everywhere else in the restaurant and the bar is empty. Kinda odd. First thing we notice is that every item (reg.pizza, GF pizza and salads) are all $5 more than where we live in Knoxville. But we're there and we're hungry. My daughter and I split a Greek salad and a GF pizza. Salad was good but dressing is very thick. GF crust was undercooked and didn't hold toppings on. Toppings were tasty and better quality than crust. My son ate a traditional crust and said the same, that toppings were good but crust not very flavorful. Interesting since it's not GF but same issue. All in all, it was a decent lunch but awfully expensive.
Love eating here. One of my few safe places in the Burlington and surrounding area. I have never been contaminated here. I’m very sensitive too. They do have a slump on toppings sometimes usually when it’s super busy or at the beginning of the new university year. They have a separate prep area and ingredients for gf. There are dividers and other protocols so the pizza isn’t contaminated during cooking. I always get the house special. I even order curbside and they seal my box with a gf sticker. Never had issues with a Mellow Mushroom and this one has improved greatly in recent years in taste and quality. Best gf pizza in my opinion.
My pizza was brought out from another kitchen area and my brownie was packaged. Crust was ok, toppings were great. One of the better and safer seeming pizzas I’ve had out after my diagnoses. Glad to find it while traveling. Website is informative and has a gluten free filter which most restaurants don’t bother to do.
