Best gluten free that I've tried. Cooked in dedicated space.
Awesome GF crust! They do not have a separate preparation area, but they do not use any shared equipment. YOU HAVE TO ASK THEM TO USE FRESH CONTAINERS OF INGREDIENTS as they use the same toppings that are used on regular pizzas. However, they accommodated my request and I had a wonderful pizza with no illness.
We went last night & had a gf/df pizza! It was great!
The pizza was great and the service was wonderful!
Probably the best GF crust I have ever eaten.
Good gf pizza. Unlike at others they didn't bring my pizza separate.
Because of previous recommendations we stayed away from their gluten free pizza. I got a salad. We were told all dressings were gluten free, but I ended up with a rash and stomach ache.
Didn't read the recent reviews before going. My wife has Celiac's and got sick from GF pizza. They must not care anymore
Good pizza lots of GF options but still got glutened. Mellow Mushroom is usually an excellent option for GF but this one let me down.
My wife ordered a gluten free pizza, stressed to the waitress had to be gluten free. Still got glutened.
I got glutened here last night from my "gluten free " pizza. Very sick today!
We had a great experience Hannah our waitress was very helpful with dealing with all our allergies Celiac, Gluten Free, Casein Free, and Nut Free. I even enjoyed a Gluten Free Beer.
Awesome pizza. They make their own crust and it's delicious. All their pizza is pricey, but 3 of us split 2 pizzas and had leftovers. We also tried the wings, no gluten ingredients ( they said possible cross contamination) but they are baked not fried, and we had no problems. (And my son is super sensitive) Definitely worth the trip!
Love love love Mellow Mushroom! I got the Veg Out Pizza and it was great! The ingredients were very fresh and the crust was cooked to perfection. Wait staff was very knowledgable to Celiac and gluten sensitivities, calling the colorful pizza joint "gluten free professionals." I appreciated that the GF menu was right with the regular menu and that it says "no longer second class citizens." This was my first time here and I will definitely visit again. Only complaint is I wish they had a GF sandwich bun to get sandwiches ,too, because the sandwiches look delicious!
My mom and I both have a gluten allergy and are lactose intolerant. They were very helpful and gave us feta(which is made of goat's milk), instead of the mozzarella! It still tastes delicious. Definitely a must go.
The service was great and the gluten free pizza is the best I've ever had! Good flavor and a good selection of gluten free pizzas
Delicious GF pizza! Read more: http://glutenfreecarolinagirl.com/2014/08/14/restaurant-chain-review-mellow-mushroom/
Great tasting pizza and dedicated gf area.
SO good! Local near my home in ATL...you won't be disappointed! Amazing GF pizza and hummus!
The new gluten free crust is awful & made me sick. Please bring back the other crust!
We always hit M.M. So happy North Myrtle & Roanoke Va is getting one!
Best gluten free pizza I've ever had, doesn't taste like saw dust!! Great service and great staff!
LOVE the new gf crust. Staff was great. Knowledgeable and if they are certain, they will dbl check. Actually was able to have a salad at this location and it was great.
We enjoyed a gf pizza. It was delicious.
Very friendly! Delicious pizza!
Fantastic pizza with vegan cheese option.
Knowledgeable and friendly!
Always a great pizza
They had a good gf menu right in the regular menu but my pizza was burnt :(
mellow mushroom is my daughters favorite gluten-free pizza. regular pizza is great as well. we ate here this past week...busy but we were seated in 15 min. pricier than some pizza places but worth it since they can accomodate gf.
Delicious GF pizza!
AMAZING PIZZA!! One of the best gluten free pizza I've ever had!
Very good pizza! A little expensive.
If this is the best gf pizza gets I'm just gonna skip it. I've only been gf 2 months and I'm hoping to find a better pizza than this. Great service.
we found the staff to be very knowledgeable and friendly. the pizza crust they use is Still Riding and i found it to be pretty good the second best pizza i have had in the 10 years i have been dealing with gluten freeness. would reccommend the Mellow Mushroom.
I've had a lot of GF pizza over the last few year and I think they carry Sally's crust . Had take out here and it was the worse pizza I've had in a long time.
great service! very knowledgeable and accommodating with the gluten free diet needs. makes family night out great for everyone!
The service was a little slow, but the food was really good. It is nice that we can actually go out to eat and our son can actually get something also! He loved the gluten free meat lovers pizza.
My new favorite place Great Gluten free Pizza,Great Gluten free beer (Redbridge) and great Staff.Look forward to going back again. We will definitely be repeat customers The Daltons
Great place to eat! More options for gluten-free pizza than anywhere else I have been. Wish we had one in MO!
very good about what is gluten free..they have a seperate menu that has a full selection of toppings to go with the gf pizza
Delicious gluten-free crust. They provide only one size of the GF pizza, but it's 12 inches, so it's big enough to share or have plenty left over. The menu provides the ingredients of the crust, so if you have other food sensitivities you can check. Lots of interesting toppings.
Great gluten free pizza and the Cezar pizza was fantastic at the Myrtle Beach location. Very good service.
while I think they may have tried harder than most to make a gluten free pizza I'm far too sick for this to be considered gluten free. the food was also pretty expensive for being a pizza joint. $15 for 4 slices of pizza is a pretty spendy poison.
I go here all the time. I used to be in love with their gf pizza until they changed the crust size from a medium to a small. I never got sick from the pizza; however, one time I felt glutened after eating an order of wings (though they tried to argue with me that they didn’t think that was possible, which was very annoying🙄). Overall, a good place for tasty gf pizza and drinks. It can get very busy during rush hour.
As usual, my experiences with mellow mushroom never fail to disappoint. I love them and I have never gotten sick
Only gf pizza available is a small 10 inch for which they charge an additional $2. Base is quite heavy and hard. Only starter available was hummus with carrot and celery sticks. New server and kitchen staff were not clued up on gf options but the server did try to be as helpful as possible
The pizza here is good but as all gluten-free food, a bit pricey. They don’t have very many choices for gluten free though, and the pizza crust isn’t very good. I would say that if you want pizza and needed something to eat quickly, this would be the place to go. I wasn’t affected by this restaurant but then again I only have an intolerance to gluten and am not celiac. This place may not be safe for celiacs,so be careful.
Had a delicious GF pizza! very knowledgeable and accommodating.
I don’t have Celiacs. However some severe stomach issues recently had my doctor put me on the low fodmap diet. So this is the second time that I have ordered food here since making this life style change. I have to cut out many things but in pizza I have to watch gluten, certain toppings, onion and garlic. So I ordered my gluten free pizza with olive oil not tomato sauce because every sauce has garlic or it says spices. My pizza comes with sauce which I didn’t check because last time it didn’t. I didn’t realize there was sauce on it right away because I can have tomatoes and had added them to my pizza. I decided to call them back to investigate whether I just ate garlic. They put the manager on the phone. When the manager came on he said there was no garlic in their sauce and put me on hold to confirm. Well it turns out that it doesn’t say garlic it says spices. The reason I’m upset is because when he didn’t see garlic he kept saying you will be okay, and you won’t get sick. He kept repeating it. I finally said “Look you don’t know if there was garlic on the pizza, because you don’t what spices means, but regardless I didn’t ask for sauce, I’m not going end up in the hospital or try sue are anything crazy if there was but you can’t be sure there wasn’t. I won’t no until tomorrow if there was garlic and you have no idea how my body will respond to it if there was garlic, please stop acting as if you did nothing wrong.” Thankfully he didn’t say anything else about how my body would respond. Mistakes happen but to then try to brush it off like it was nothing is frustrating. They remade my pizza correctly and ended up giving my husband a gift certificate for the cost. However if there was garlic I’m not sure what will happen it took over 6 weeks of detox to stop my stomach pain and I’m not sure how much or little will negatively affect it now. Be careful with what you order and expect them to make excuses if they mess it up.
I ate here on Friday for lunch. I let them know I’m celiac and the waiter assured me they were very familiar with CC protocol etc. my stomach started hurting within 1/2 hour of eating :( I am pretty non-symptomatic usually so was surprised that i felt this way right after eating the pizza. Seems their procedures weren’t safe enough 😢
We ordered two gf pizzas. When the order came up our waitress told us the kitchen suspected cross contamination. She apologized and said they were making new pizzas. The manager offered to comp an appetizer. The pizzas were great and the server was on top of it all.
I have ordered from Mellow Mushroom several times. The first time I ate their pizza, I became ill (about a year ago). Since I have had much improved experiences. I do well with their white pizza. I try to stay away from meat choices other than Pepperoni. They do not guarantee Celiac safe food.
GF pizza looked amazing, but it turned out the crust had a burnt flavor to it and it was very dark. Everyone knows GF crust are temperamental and very easy to burn. When I mentioned to the server that it looked fabulous but it was a bit burnt they immediately made me a new one and assured me they wanted me to have a perfect Pizza today. I'm incredibly psyched! Manager Matt did an awesome job as did server Justin. Kudos. Highly recommend...!
I didn’t get sick, and I usually absolutely love Mellow Mushroom for gluten free pizza, but this location was mediocre at best. The food was gross, and service was okayish (for some reason we had 3 different servers, and I think the first might have been drunk????) I love Mellow Mushroom and had never had a bad experience before this one. Would recommend the chain, but definitely not this location. There’s a good gluten free bakery (Rise) literally one minute away—go there instead.
Nice people, nice menu and healthier choices than most, unfortunately the guys behind the counter who prepare the pizzas DO NOT ALWAYS FOLLOW PROCEDURE given them by the company to insure gluten free. Eaten the pizza several times, but last time I got sick, and if you’re allergic to gluten like I am, you know when you’ve been burned. Managers are unable to make sure workers use the process in place. Eat at your own risk.
This was my first visit here and my first time using my Nima Sensor. I spoke with the server about their preparation practices, which seemed excellent. I ordered the Mighty Meaty GF pie. I tried to gather a sample for the Nima that had a majority of the ingredients. Nima found no gluten. The pizza was excellent and I had no I'll effects afterwards. This seems to be a very safe place for celiac. I will return.
They grill the buns on the same flat iron as the burgers, so if they’re out of GF dough, you’re pretty much out of luck. They do have Angry Orchard cider on tap though.
Ordered the gf pizza, which was delicious, but whomever handled the pizza was not very careful with contamination. I got sick the next day. I was so disappointed because I loved this place before my diagnosis and was hoping to enjoy it again. Not this time.
They have less topping options for the GF pizza. Garlic is listed in the menu as a non GF option as some other toppings which it was a bummer. Also, the crust was hard and didn't taste much like anything, it was just dry. Good news is I didn't get sick! They do have a dedicated side in the kitchen just for GF food preparation, I was informed. But unfortunately not a good tasting GF pizza.
Was my favorite until they decided to nix the plans for the one in Hendersonville, TN (just a few miles from downtown Nashville) to build a second in Nashville. When there was only one in Nashville, I dealt with walking 1/2 mile from parking to restaurant, expensive prices (gladly paid to have servers and cooks trained about celiac disease), and driving over 20 miles to get to that location. Will never eat at Mellow Mushroom again. Recently in Destin, FL. Drove to Ciao Bella (excellent food) rather than set foot inside another Mellow Mushroom. Would always eat at the one in Bowling Green when we were there, Gatlinburg when we were there, etc. Many people were disappointed when they decided not to build in Hendersonville. It's all about the $$$. More money to be made in downtown Nashville than a few miles out in another city of only 60,000 people. One star because it is the least I can give.
As of August 1, 2017, all locations changed the size of their GF pizzas. The ONLY size you can order now is a very small personal pizza - what I would describe as a kid's pizza. Despite this change, my pizza was nearly $16, plus an additional $4 for vegan cheese. Although the pizza is tasty, I don't know anyone who would be ok paying these prices for a teeny tiny pizza. Very disappointing.
