Server was awesome, food was great, and no issues after dinner (I have Celiac). Great place to eat!
Everything cooked separately!
I enjoyed the pizza
Amazing GF pizza, they're sauce is unbelievable. Very good price at 11.99 a pizza plus cost of toppings but ya don't even need 'em. Pizza is that good.
We had a great time, great food, awesome service, and recommend sitting outside
Came here after another restaurant wasn't celiac friendly. I am so glad that one wasn't. Simply excellent. My son with celiac said best pizza ever!
I am severely allergic to wheat, lactose intolerant, and a vegetarian. Had an amazing pizza!!! only the 2nd place I've found so far with vegan cheese on a gluten free pizza
I was here last week and had a pizza out for the first time in over two years and it was FANTASTIC. They use smart flour crust and I had green pepper and bacon on mine. Not only that but it was a good sized pizza (12") and I was able to take some home.
The best gluten free pizza I've ever had, hands down! Dedicated kitchen space and trained staff, so no worries about cross contamination! Mellow Mushroom is one of my go to places in St. Augustine every time I'm there, wish there was one closer to me!
This is the best gluten free pizza that I have ever had. Everything is prepared separately and is free of cross contamination. I am very sensitive and had no problems at all. The staff is very well trained and my waiter was wonderful. The waiter reported to us that many people with out allergies come in for the gluten free pizza because it is their favorite. I highly recommend Mellow Mushroom.
They just get it. They handle the GF pizzas in a separate area. You can have hummus with veggies too. Great atmosphere and someplace my son who has Celiac can go and eat with friends and he's safe.
Excellent GF White Pizza and also GF Chesse Pizza! Great Manager Amber and Bartender Tim! We'll be back!!
Gluten free pizza with pesto sauce, talk about yum!!
Very good pizza! Despite the other reviews I loved the crust. Will come back.
I'm super sensitive to cross contamination and did not get sick. They go to great lengths to keep their pies safe (dedicated space, change apron and gloves, etc). Great pizza, great staff. A definite must go!
Service was great. Pizza was good but not great. I was hoping for better crust on it. The crust was really thin and soggy in the middle (although I like and am used to the thin gluten free crust). It was one of the better gluten free pizzas I've had, that's for sure, just was hoping for a bit better crust from a place that was rated 5 stars.
Excellent gluten free pizza!
smart flour pizza crust...the kids approved! and I enjoyed the specialty pizza with the GF crust! would go back :-)
GF pizza was great. Kitchen staff has been trained on how to handle food for celiacs. Server was also well informed.
Awesome service. My wife is G-F and we're both dairy free. This pizza place has Daiya Cheese and GF crust. It is great. It is served by someone with gloves and the pizza is cooked on a special tray to keep it clear of other crusts.
Love their pizza!!
The gf pizzas are tasty and there are several options. They have Angry Orchard Ale on tap.
Very good pizza crust!!! Have a selection of gf pizza which I ordered from. Staff was very good at answering all my question. separate area for gf food prep all utensil and pans gf specific.
4 stars pending 5, once we come back (pretty sure it is inevitable, the mushroom pizza had my husband licking his fingers, sadly the toppings aren't guaranteed GF ) I had the GF Kosmic Karma. The crust had good chew and flavor, and the toppings were tasty despite my congestion and inability to properly smell. I definitely recommend this place.
Pizza was a definite 5stars. I'm not GF, but my husband, who is, and I shared a pizza. We both thought it was great! I did, however, have to take away a star for the difficulty in getting there and poor parking options. It took us so long to travel from I-95 (8mi: 105 min round trip) we called in the pizza to go and just ate it in the car. Good thing, too , bc they were packed with a long waiting line and we couldn't 'to find a place to park even just to grab our to-go order!
incredible experience and my first GFDF pizza in 3 yrs
Bland pizza with tough crust. My family and I ate here on a trip and 3 of us have Celiac disease. No one got sick but, the food was less than satisfying. They do have a separate prep area for gluten free.
The only gluten free option was pizza. There was a variety of toppings but, the crust was bland and nearly burnt. On the bright side, none of us got sick, 3 of us have Celiac disease. Not worth a second trip in my opinion. However, they do have a separate prep area for gluten free.
Delicious pizza with freshly made toppings. Toppings were plentiful I don’t think i have ever had pizza with this many toppings. The gluten free crust was good pretty crunchy. Husband had a regular pizza too and he said it was the best ever We both had the House Pizza for both the gluten free and regular it was basically a supreme pizza
We had an amazing waiter who was very knowledgeable with celiacs and went over how they prepare their food to ensure that our food was not contaminated by gluten products in the restaurant. He was so informative. Plus most of their pies can be made gluten free. We really enjoyed our second meal out after being diagnosed.
Underwhelming food. They’ve gone down hill since opening. The only options are pizza. How do you put gluten in a salad? A million kinds of beer but not a single gf one? The pizza had no flavor and was drowning in grease. We like locations in other cities but this one failed to impress. My non cd daughter had a calzone she couldn’t even swallow she said it tasted nasty.
The waiter did not know much about gluten free. He stated follow what the menu has listed. I ordered gluten free pizza with vegetables. When he brought it to the table, it was on a tray with 3 other pizzas. All of the pizza pans where touching. Then when he put the pizza down his thumb was on the pizza.
My fiancé and I have eaten here many times. I have never left sick, or been ill afterwards! They use Follow Your Heart vegan mozzarella and the gluten free crust isn’t bad! The service can be slower, so maybe wait til next time if you are in a hurry :)
My wife has Celiac, so we’re very careful when dining out. She’s never gotten sick from their pizza, but the quality of the pizza was miserable. There were several gaps where there were simply no ingredients on the pie; no sauce, no cheese...nothing. And this was the re-make of the 1st pizza that was badly undercooked. They are being out-competed by Your Pie at the moment.
Very Pleased. Food prep in separate area. Crust was crunchy not soggy!
Decided to grab pizzas on to take back to our hotel. I verified they do cook GF pizzas in a completely separate oven in the back (which is far away from the rest of the items and not even in the same room). I asked the person taking the order to make sure mine was placed separately from the rest of the order (non GF). When I went to pick everything up, she handed me a stack of boxes and my GF one was in the middle completely covered in the crumbs from the pizzas above it (plus it wasn’t made with what I ordered). Asked to have it remade. The manager was very nice and apologized profusely, even refunded me.
Staff was knowledgeable and friendly. Waiter went into detail about a separate oven & prep station. Told us staff at this location is required to watch a video detailing how to handle gluten free. Food was delicious. We’ve eaten here 3 times over the years and my celiac daughter has had no problems.
Okay this place was a total disappointment. They charge way too much for way too little and not a lot of flavor. I didn’t care much for the crust and the pizza was smaller than I’m used too for GF personal pies also it cost $17! I’m never going back. I also had a bad experience where they charged my card $46 for the $17 pizza...
My daughter began a gf/df diet almost 5 weeks ago, and she was really wanting pizza again. We stopped in on the way to our movie and really enjoyed our meal. The menu lists each item that is gluten free and has dairy free vegan cheeze. There was a bit of sticker shock to get the 10 inch gluten free pizzas with simple toppings but for an occasional treat for my 14yo, it’s worth it. She also loved the music, decor, and the overall vibe.
My husband has celiac disease and this is one of the places in Burlington that he’s comfortable and safe. The GF pizza is now a personal pan size, which didn’t bother him at all. One time, they ran out of gf pizza sauce and the server came out and ask us to confirm if he’s allergic. They accommodated my husband and use an oil based sauce instead.
Best Mellow Mushroom I have ever been to. The server was extremely knowledgeable on Celiac Disease and the options that both my daughter and I could have. We both had gluten free pizza and it was awesome! Our pizza came within 30 min hot. Recommend eating here for sure.
Highly Recommend!!!! I love their pizza and it’s celiac safe. I typically get the “Big White,” on their gluten free crust. I often add jalapeños and or pepperoni and have had no issues. I would be careful or research if you decide to try the “mighty meat,” etc. Also I had their house salad with vingerette and I felt great. And I’m super sensitive.
Felt pretty confident in their gluten-free knowledge, with items carefully marked on the menu, good server knowledge, and reassurances that they take all necessary precautions. They even showed us the list of ingredients in the ice cream and told us they were opening a brand new one for our daughter to ensure no previous cross contamination. Location itself looks nicer outside - the interior was tired and not very cozy feeling. Booths had taped up rips, etc. But food was great and better than expected. Huge portions. Good experience.
