We had a lovely experience. I called ahead to see if they had GF options and they have a whole GF menu, items that are cooked in shared oil are NOT on the gf menu. That is when I knew I could eat here. We got salads (wedge and chopped), bacon wrapped scallops, steaks, asparagus, and baked potato. Portion sizes were great, food was delicious, waiter was very knowledgeable about gluten and he recommended a wine to go with my meal and it was perfect. Highly recommend as a celiac-safe place. Pricey but it is NYC after all ๐
I have a dairy and gluten allergy and my mom can’t have dairy, gluten, soy, or egg. The staff was so friendly and extremely helpful with our dietary restrictions. Probably the best steak I’ve ever eaten as well. Highly recommend.
A great place to go for a fancy celebratory dinner. They have a gluten-free menu with an extensive list of regular menu items that are gluten free. You have lots of options, and aren't just limited to two or three items. I'm not sure about their kitchen procedures regarding contamination.
Came here for dinner last night, when I told the server I have celiac he immediately went and got me a gluten sensitive menu. Note that it wasn’t called a gluten FREE menu, but I still felt comfortable ordering.
Tons of steak options, it says on the menu the steaks are just without the au jus. Lots of salads, sides, and a few dessert options. When they brought my food out they made a point to say that all of my plates were gluten free, which was a nice reminder considering I was with like 15 other people.
I had the bacon wrapped scallop appetizer, the 12 oz filet, the wedge salad, grilled asparagus, and loaded mashed potatoes. The loaded potatoes were the best part of the meal, they were so delicious. Everything else was pretty good too. Didn’t get sick at all either!
I was seated by a wonderful hostess. The atmosphere was great. The menu has a lot of options... but our waiter was AWFUL. After i informes him that I was gluten free he said "my wife has celiac! I was instantly relieved. He said he could guide me through the menu easily. During his speil about the meats He talked down.about Nick&Sams!! As iit turns out he doesn't really know what celiac is!! I started asking questions and he was unable to answer me Then stated he'd get the gluten-free menu.( why wasn't this offered to begin with)
After this red flag, I should have left. Well I decided to go ahead and order. My husband ordered a Cesar salad and he said, are yall wanting to split it? It is not on the GF menu so I inquired. He seemed confused. I went ahead with my order. Well, after about a 40 minute wait for our food mine steak cake out with au jus. The gluten free menu states no au jus for gluten free!! The waiter then argued with me. I asked him to bring me the menu to confirm. He said "I've never worked ar a restaurant that has wheat in the aujus.I will go pour it off. ๐ก
Mind you, my husband's food was getting cold. Our family sides were getting cold. Here comes the manager apologizing and correcting my steak. Fineally, she assured me my new steak was gluten free. We'll, it was the worst tasting steak I've ever had. It was DRY. My husband's steak was not much better with the au jus. If you have to pour au jus on a steak you're cooking it Wrong!! After this fiasco the waiter never came to apologize. He pretended like it didn't happen. I'll never go back. There are much better steak houses.
