Good food! They have a Gluten Sensitive menu and if you tell them you have celiac they will use dedicated utensils etc and your meal comes with a marker so you know there is no cross contamination. It’s great! Lots of choices on the GS menu.
Ordered a hamburger with gluten free bun and they were very nice about it. Asked questions and they knew the answers in relation to celiac. They have a nice selection of gluten free menu items. The cook came out with the food and assured is he took precaution when preparing the burger! We did not get sick!
It was nice to have a whole page of their menu for gluten sensitive. My husband, who is celiac, said there Is a decent variety of offerings. Our waitress was knowledgeable of the gluten free items. We will definitely go back!
I have eaten there 5 times. They do not have a dedicated dryer. They do have a gluten free menu but 3 of the five times I have eaten there, I have gotten glutened. I will not be eating there again. It's not worth the risk.
Outstanding service from the manager. It is their policy for the manager to discuss food allergies with customers prior to serving them. Food was outstanding. The hamburger bun was so good I made them double check to make sure they gave me a gluten-free bun! We are not celiac so I cannot attest to the question of whether you will get sick or not. The main menu has a gluten-free section. Beef, chicken, salmon choices. Excellent experience!
Manager was extremely apologetic but not only did they serve me a regular bun on my burger they put the stick in to symbolize it was gluten free!!!! I didn't realize it was wrong until I'd taken a bite because I hadn't gotten sick here before. I think I could have forgiven this if they hadn't marked a regular bun as gluten free --- that's just plain bad. I expect the possibility of cross contamination in restaurants but giving me gluten and saying it's gluten free? BIG no.
They have oven baked French fries that are pretty good. They also have gluten free buns. I’m giving it three starts because last time they put cheese on my burger (dairy allergy) and gave me like five fries. And I had to eat the burger open faced because my brothers didn’t have cheese, like he asked, and the cheese touched the top bun. Other than that pretty good food.
Got glutened two days ago after ordering smothered steak tips. I feel horrible and am NEVER going back! Avoid at all costs. YIKES!
Meh. The waiter had no idea what celiac disease was and I stressed how I can’t eat gluten. He kept trying to push a cookie skillet dessert even after I told him I was Celiac and couldn’t eat gluten. Not sure he even knew what gluten was. I had steak tips and a baked potato. Honestly, the steak was super chewy and for the $$ I’d rather go elsewhere.
Great experience!!! Got a burger and veggies. Perfectly cooked and delicious. No itchy mouth after!
I am updating my review as I ate here the other night and got sick. I spoke to the Manager and told him that I am an extremely sensitive celiac and I asked him to check with the kitchen to be sure they could provide a safe gluten free meal. I also asked for my food to be brought out separately which it was. I had sirloin tips, mashed potato and broccoli.
Nice find. Lots of options and the manager makes sure all is done properly. I had a lobster roll and French fries. Fries are in a dedicated fryer and use new oil. The other fryers for other food use the old rotated oil so fried are safe. Lobster roll was very good.
I had their summer salad with berries and watermelon with no reaction and I have celiac. I did mention I have a gluten allergy as I find that alerts servers better than I have celiac. However I did eat there late night after a show so after 10pm and it wasn’t super busy.
We were surprised at the cleanliness of the building and quality of the food at THIS Ninety Nine. We really enjoy the 99 chain but this one could use an overall overhaul There were cigarette butts near the front door. The furniture inside was old and all scratched up, the rugs were badly in need of a cleaning. The food was sub-par for a 99. It just wasn’t a good experience. However, we will go there again and give it another try. As I mentioned above, we are generally fans of the 99.
I went there and told the waitress that I have celiac before ordering off the GF menu. The manager came and explained how everything will be prepared on GF surfaces and how my food would be contained as to avoid cross-contamination. I will certainly go back there. My burger was delicious.
A lot of options. Decided on a steak salad and it was delicious and hit the spot. The wait staff was very knowledgeable and helpful.
Good overall, just a warning the popcorn they bring you isn’t gluten free. I assumed our server who knew I couldn’t do gluten wouldn’t offer us the popcorn if it had gluten. That was my mistake though, I checked online in case before eating it and it seemed okay but I got sick later. I’d still come back just maybe avoid that tempting popcorn next time.
I always get the “gluten conscious” balsamic chicken and mashed potatoes and never get sick.

You really need to make it clear to the waitstaff about the gluten allergy. Some of them seemed unfamiliar with it. Food was brought to the table by an additional waitress and it had allergy noted toothpicks in the plated foood
On the plus side they have a GF menu. On the downside hubby ordered from it and has suffered from it for 3 days so far. And he is only gluten intolerant. Called and nicely explained to manager what happened so they could watch for cc. He just said “that never happens.”’
99 has a separate Gluten Free page in the menu. Multiple choices. Balsamic chicken and the Bacon Cheeseburger are very good meals. Servers are very aware of menu and and restrictions required for Celiac from my experience.
Menu has “gluten friendly” options. A very nice manager came over and said she has celiac too and that she would make sure my meal was safe and that they would avoid cross contamination. Then she showed me an iPad where she selected “wheat” as an allergen and showed me how the iPad said the balsamic chicken and potatoes I ordered were safe. She said only a manager would handle my food and that it would come out with a green allergy stick in it. I was feeling good at that point. Then the waitress brought out all of the food together including my meal, with no allergy stick. I asked her why a manager didn’t bring it and why there was no allergy stick. She went in the back, came out, and gave me the thumbs up. Against my better judgment, I eat the meal and woke up in the middle of the night with horrible intestinal pain. Needless to say, this 99 is not celiac friendly and I will not be returning.
Liked GF menu being clear. Hubby ordered GF prime rib. Only difference was no jus. Yeah it came with au jus. His food and mine were just not yummy. We were not expecting good food so that was fine. Needed food and read they had GF menu sad they served him gluten
My standby local eatery. We frequently eat here because I have never been glutened here. For the most part the staff is GF knowledgeable. The waiter will note your wheat allergy on the ticket. To be safe, order from the GF section on the menu, but I have had them customize other options for me. Never a problem.
Very friendly and willing to help provide celiac friendly options. Menu says “gluten sensitive” but we talked about preparation and in the end did not get sick. Food was okay, gluten free bun was very good.
This establishment has changed significantly in the past couple of years. They are now very good at ensuring proper preparation of their gluten-free items. A manager will come over and verify the preparation with you. The food and atmosphere is always good. We frequently eat at this restaurant
When I told the waitress I needed gluten free, manager came over and spoke with me. He explained that my food would be prepared on a clean space. There would be a glove change before the server prepared my food and it would be delivered by the same person who prepared it. I was very impressed with the safe guards they have in place.
Gluten sensitive menu, and once I mentioned I have Celiac Disease, they were completely knowledgeable and responsible. They brought my food separately and it was delicious and no issues! Waiter even came over at end of the meal and said “the hot fudge sundae is gluten free if you’re ready for dessert!” I opted for chicken wjth broccoli and potatoe, but they also had beef tips, salmon, burgers with GF bun and salad available.
Depends what night you go and who your server is. The older ones have no idea what gluten is or how to be a server. The younger staff is great. Don’t go on a Friday night because it’s only older people there. They’re morons.
Always had good food that didn’t cause a reaction. Specify gluten free menu. Manager came over to ensue us everything was being prepared safely. Only missing a star because they need more desert options.

Always great service, attentive to GF needs and knowledgeable about the menu. This is one of my “safe” restaurants where I know I can go and not worry about being glutened. Good variety too.
Really surprised that this chain is SO compassionate and on top of their gluten free customers...but, they are great! Manager always double checks our meal. The burger buns are so good I always have to ask if it’s the gf one! Soft and yummy! While the food is your average American cuisine the helpful staff and effort to not poison us makes it a frequent stop.
I liked my burger, but as a suggestion they should have more sides gf to complete the menu
I’m not sure why everyone else has had so many issues. When I went they were all very knowledgeable. They even came back after I tried to order fries and told me they didn’t have a dedicated fryer and had me choose something that was safe. They have a gluten free beer too, which is rare in my experience.
Months ago my husband (not gf) and I (gf) went to 99. I ordered a salad that would normally come with a bread sticks. Reminded the server no croutons, breadstick, etc. and told her she could put the breadstick with my husband's meal since his didn't come with one. She seemed knowledgeable until our meals arrived. My plate had a gluten filled breadstick on it. The server told me the kitchen messed up and told me to just give the breadstick to my husband because she wasn't allowed to touch the food. I had to explain that the salad was contaminated and I would get very sick if I ate it. Very frustrating and I will not return to 99.
