The food was ok. Had a separate section on menu for gluten free sensitivity. Items on menu was not served to expectations. Example: Prime Rib was served dry with no Au Jus like traditionally served! Why??
They always ask if it's a gf allergy, and double check with the cook if they're not sure if something is definetly gf. I've only ever ordered takeout, but the food and service have been great.
Adequate meal. If you need to eat it works. Nothing special. And, they accommodated for my dietary requirements.
Very happy! A lot of places only accommodate adults that have to be GF. My 8 year old son has Celiac and they had a kids burger and GF roll! He was very happy and I didn't have to pay for an adult meal for him.
I've been here numerous times over the past few months, and have been greeted with awesome, knowledgeable staff every time. The food is consistent and cheap, and has never made me sick. They use Gillian's rolls for burger buns.
My gluten free bacon cheeseburger was very good...came on gluten free bun. The bun tasted just ok I took the bottom part of it off. When the waitress didn't know gluten free options she would ask her manager. ..I'm happy to have somewhere to go to eat out :)
From gluten free burgers and buns to steak, chicken, and other options on their gluten free menu, 99 is inexpensive ans has good food that's gluten free.
When I told the waitress I needed gluten free, manager came over and spoke with me. He explained that my food would be prepared on a clean space. There would be a glove change before the server prepared my food and it would be delivered by the same person who prepared it. I was very impressed with the safe guards they have in place.
Gluten sensitive menu, and once I mentioned I have Celiac Disease, they were completely knowledgeable and responsible. They brought my food separately and it was delicious and no issues! Waiter even came over at end of the meal and said “the hot fudge sundae is gluten free if you’re ready for dessert!” I opted for chicken wjth broccoli and potatoe, but they also had beef tips, salmon, burgers with GF bun and salad available.
Ate twice here this past. Food was good. Waitress was aware of celiac disease. Would definitely go back
Really surprised that this chain is SO compassionate and on top of their gluten free customers...but, they are great! Manager always double checks our meal. The burger buns are so good I always have to ask if it’s the gf one! Soft and yummy! While the food is your average American cuisine the helpful staff and effort to not poison us makes it a frequent stop.
I liked my burger, but as a suggestion they should have more sides gf to complete the menu
I’m not sure why everyone else has had so many issues. When I went they were all very knowledgeable. They even came back after I tried to order fries and told me they didn’t have a dedicated fryer and had me choose something that was safe. They have a gluten free beer too, which is rare in my experience.
Months ago my husband (not gf) and I (gf) went to 99. I ordered a salad that would normally come with a bread sticks. Reminded the server no croutons, breadstick, etc. and told her she could put the breadstick with my husband's meal since his didn't come with one. She seemed knowledgeable until our meals arrived. My plate had a gluten filled breadstick on it. The server told me the kitchen messed up and told me to just give the breadstick to my husband because she wasn't allowed to touch the food. I had to explain that the salad was contaminated and I would get very sick if I ate it. Very frustrating and I will not return to 99.
They have good burgers..limited options but good. Both times I've eaten there I've enjoyed a burger, once with broccoli and tonight with a huge side salad. I feel great and will return. I only gave it a 4 because staff wasn't too sure and i wish they had at least 1 gf dessert! 😁
Wish they had dedicated fryer and offered sweet potatoes. Food is ok. My husband loves it but he is not gluten-free.
NOT Celiac-friendly, no dedicated utensils, no dedicated cooking areas, no dedicated cooking pans, etc. If you have Celiac do not eat there. If you don’t and just want to not eat Gluten then they are at least trying. They “can clean the grill that does have gluten stuff cooked on it.” They wash everything in a dishwasher and consider that gluten-free, when it is not safe for Celiacs. No salad bar alternative either, so we just had to leave to go find somewhere else to eat.
Ok chain food, 3 celiacs didn’t get sick at all which equals a win.
The managers are excellent and do everything to ensure an enjoyable and SAFE dining experience! Love this place!!!
I go there very often, it’s one of the few places I’ll trust. The wait-staff knows me by now, and is very careful about cross contamination because they know it is a medical issue for me. Ask for Sarah, she’s awesome! Even if she’s not my waitress, she’ll follow up with whoever is!
Gluten aware they were good at that and that’s the most important. The food itself was not much to brag about (wilted lettuce etc.) But I didn’t get sick so that’s a good thing.
Though I tried again and again...-spoonful of green beers had a hunk of potatoes and gravy--obviously same utensils used. Wheat bun when ordering gf-- called and the woman manager was very rude because I told her if they don't have buns just give it to me Bunless. Her response was well you didn't want to bun anyway so just take it off. Hey lady that's not how it works when your celiac. Three times near misses once getting very sick never again to the 99
They have a gluten sensitive section of the menu. I absolutely love the burgers! They are served wrapped in a package when brought to the table. The price is unbeatable for the burgers, $11 for a burger on a gluten free bun served with gluten sensitive sides. Can't find too make restaurants with that price!
The Nashua, NH restaurant does NOT have a separate fryer for fries. The manager said they do have a separate fryer but when it gets busy they put other things in it that are not GF. Doesn't that defeat the purpose of having a separate fryer???? They do have a GF menu and a vegetarian menu which lists good food. They also have GF buns for burgers but do NOT have GF pasta.
I had a very close call tonight when I ordered a burger with a gluten-free roll and a baked potato, because the fries are not gluten free. Tiffany asked me if it was an allergy and I said yes. The burger arrived and I noticed that the roll looked identical to my son's sandwich roll. I waited and found Tiffany and asked her to make sure this is gluten-free. She realized her mistake and grabbed the plate and told me that it would be redone. She did bring me a new burger with a gluten-free roll. At this point I was disturbed thinking about the horror that was just avoided by being observant. When I get glutened it is not a pretty or painless experience. I expected the manager to come over at some point to apologize and this did not happen. When my son ordered dessert I asked Tiffany to have the manager come over. After about five minutes he came over. I asked him if he knew what happened. The manager, Bill, said that Tiffany did not press the button on the order entry system for the gluten-free roll. I asked him if he knows what happens when someone who is allergic to gluten eats it. Bill was not familiar with the violent reaction. I shared with him that it is a long and painful experience for me that involves bodily functions that should not be discussed in a dining room. I suggested that Bill train all of his employees in the dangers of making a mistake like this. He said they do receive training. Well something was missing, I replied. At no point did he offer to pay for my burger. I had to ask him for that courtesy and it was like pulling teeth. When he agreed he quickly left the table. I don't believe Bill ever apologized for the mistake only acknowledging that it was made. Bill must have given Tiffany "quite a talking to" according to my son because she came over to apologize and was sincere. At this point I wish there was a pill that would cause the same level of symptoms that we experience when we are glutened that could be given to wait staff that makes this kind of mistake so that it would be the very last time it happens. I am not quite sure why I need to train the 99's staff instead of Bill doing his job properly. Eating out should not be a dangerous and scary experience when a restaurant declares themselves to be gluten friendly. This was not a friendly experience.
GF menu. Good Burgers with GF buns. No fries do mashed or baked p. Instead. Nice staff and server. Said kitchen is careful on cross contamination. Recommend but be clear on GF needs.
They have a GF Menu here with alot of options. I had a burger with GF Bun unfortunately their french fries are not GF. So I had mashed potatoes as my side. Burger was a good size and GF hamburger bun was very good. They serve popcorn instead of bread - very tasty. Its not fine dining - but a good value and price point and our server (Richard) was very nice & service was very good!
