I ordered a shakshuka and told them that I am celiac. And they gave me gluten free toast but I think it must have been toasted in a regular bread toaster and cross contaminated. Stabbing stomach pain. Would not recommended. Earl’s and Cactus Club are much safer imo. The food is also not that great at OEB. I saw them microwaving about 30% of the meals that went out.
Servers were incredibly helpful to accommodate my partner and I’s allergies, even double checking with kitchen and offering options. Yummy and stress free!
Newish breakfast spot on the North shore with quite a few gluten-free options. Able to swap some items for GF versions (had eggs, bacon and GF roast potatoes). Apparently the waffle maker is dedicated to GF waffles. Server seemed knowledgeable and felt like they knew what they were doing to address cross contact. Beer on the menu but nothing GF.
The waitress explained that the meats like bacon and chicken sausage would be fried on the same grill as pancakes, so they weren’t safe to order. She asked the kitchen if the pork in the breakfast tacos would be safe, and it was! The breakfast tacos were quite good but not amazing. Still it was a nice place to eat with knowledge staff.
Menu is very clear in labelling gluten-free, lots of options
Lots to choose from on the menu and it’s clearly marked with modifications which makes ordering easy. It is on the more expensive end for brunch. We used the yelp waitlist which was a good move as it was very busy.
I ordered the threesome. After initially saying ‘no problem’ to being coeliac, the waitress followed up asking if I was ok with cross contamination to which I responded no. She then explained that essentially there will be CC but the staff will be careful. Overall, I do appreciate their caution and I did feel comfortable eating there, particularly with all the positive reviews, however don’t love that continuing with my order equated to tolerating CC.
Despite that, the food was good, portions generous and I would eat there again.
