The server was very knowledgeable and helpful in ordering gluten free. The kitchen messed up my order and made it gluten full- but the server caught it and fixed it before the food ever made it to me! I would go there again. The gluten free pasta itself wasn’t great but the sauce and everything else was great.
Went here last week and had their gluten free pizza. It was a bit pricey but the pizza was good. They knew about Celiacs and they said the pizza is prepared and cooked separately. I did not get sick but as always, make sure you talk to them about your specific allergies.
6 y/o is not only celiac but allergic to all nuts, egg, and soy protein. Enjoyed a nice family dinner that in my daughter's words was "awesomely good!" In talking in advance with manager and upon arrival, I learned they could prepare not only safe pizzas but also offer pastas (by cooking in dedicated pans preventing possible cross contact with gluten). I believe there were 3 choices of pasta and at least two sauces, if not 3. Had GF bread but not an option for us as our daughter is egg allergic. Although she could have eaten the pasta, being 6 she defaulted to her favorite item...pizza. She loved every bite. I tasted it and it was delicious! So were the meals ordered by the 4 other individuals with us! A smaller restaurant, not busy on a weeknight. A great find and would definitely recommend.
Delish!! They were very knowledgeable and accommodating with my daughter and my celiac as well as my dairy free restrictions (she had the baked ziti and I had the putenesca). We left full and completely satisfied! We'll be back when we're back in San Diego!
Excellent food, and a good variety of options. The hostess was knowledgeable about gluten-free issues, and explained what could and could not be made gluten-free. They can make 12" pizzas with a GF crust. Most of their pastas can be made gluten-free, with the major exception of their alfredo sauces, which do contain wheat. Their meatballs also have gluten, but they can substitute sausages, which do not. Most of their salads are also GF. We had the seafood pasta, which was delicious. I also liked their side salad; simple but tasty. We will probably be coming back this trip; their mushroom and meat sauces looks incredible. I have celiac, but I don't have any symptoms if I accidentally ingest gluten (it's happened a few times), so I can't be certain that they have zero cross-contamination. However, they certainly seemed to understand celiac, and I felt confident eating there.
Started with Italian Wedding soup - not a great recipe, sort of like shredded chicken soup with carrots...not what I was expecting. Next was the sausage and peppers with gf pasta. Pasta was good, sauce was a bit sweet. Clean and friendly atmosphere. Menu is marked with gf options.
My daughter with Celiac's said their GF pizza was great and I agree. my wife and I do not have Celiac Disease, and ordered other food the following evening & enjoyed it. I asked the staff about their GF crust and it is a frozen crust. I guess the combo of their sauce, toppings, and knowing how to cook it right made it taste better than others we have had.
A couple options available for us gluten-free. There's the hopefully implied salad, the gluten free pasta and the gluten free pizza. There are a large amount of different kinds of pasta and pizza you can get gluten free. For the pasta: sausage, meatsauce, sausage with bell peppers, etc.; and for the pizza: an infinite amount of make your own creations, fueled by 30-40 toppings. The restaurant has a nice, cozy atmosphere and a friendly staff. They're knowledgeable when it comes to gluten. I ended up ordering the sausage and bell pepper gluten-free pasta and the pizza with goat cheese, capers, spinach and Roma tomatoes. Both were decadent, dare I say divine. Hands down my best post-diagnosis Italian meal. For the price, this is the best Italian joint in town for us gluten-free.
My husband and I went here for our anniversary and i got the GF pizza - it looked like they used costco pre-diced garlic and just poured it all over my pizza so I felt like I could taste the citric acid from the juice of it. The pizza was also pretty burnt/hard. It's a smaller mom and pop shop so make sure to make reservations if ur going on Fri/Sat. I liked sitting outside on the small patio
Family owned and very friendly. The owners are very knowledgable about gluten free and will soon have a full gluten free menu. Ordered the gluten free penne pasta with sausage and peppers. It was phenomenal. For desert we had gluten free cheese cake...delicious. This was a great find. We will be back.
