Lots of gluten free options listed in an easy-to-read way in the menu. Have had several and never been sick, and I’m rather sensitive with my celiacs. The wait staff is extremely quick as well and the food is amazing!
The meal was just ok here, GF is not marked on the menu, like the Plaza Azteca location by our home. But the bartender knew what was and was not ( same as Washington PA location, basicallly) However service at bar was lacking, but I did not get sick, so I will give the food an ok. Also if you see my other reviews I have enjoyed other Plaza Azteca locations. I dont think I would be a " regular" like I am in Washington PA.
This is one of my go-to restaurants in town. Their menu has a GF icon to easily spot safe menu items, and there are quite a few. The food is delicious, served quickly, and fairly priced. Table-side guacamole is delicious and the manager frequently makes rounds and is very friends. Love this restaurant and highly recommend!
Absolutely love this place! Food is so delicious! Menu is very clearly marked for GF. Not sure about the other reviews on the chips, but I ate them and had no reaction or problem. They are also marked as GF. Great food and atmosphere! Highly recommend for Mexican!
I didn't feel bad after eating here but I do worry about the possibility of cross-contamination. I asked if the chips they bring to the table were gluten-free and the server informed me that they fry these chips in the same fryer as other fried items, so avoid these. I had the lunch portion of beef fajitas (sub corn tortillas) and thought they tasted very good.
Very disappointed that menu items are marked gluten free, then chips and shells are fried in the same fryer as flour tortillas. This is not gluten free! Also offered to substitute corn tortillas and cheese for chips and salsa when we arrived, then charged us for both!
I visited the one in Robinson. Gluten-free items listed on the menu. Got enchilada suits- so delicious. No problems. Even the chips and salsa were gluten free. Def going back!! Waitress was knowledgeable.
The menu clearly marks GF items and there are ample choices. I had an enchilada plate done with corn tortillas. Some uncertainty about whether the chips they put in the table are fried in mixed company and safe. I did eat them and didn’t have a problem. Fresh guacamole at the table is great. Will go back.
This used to be an amazing restaurant, but things have certainly gone downhill. The quality of food is just not what it was & the risk of cross contamination is high. I wouldn't take a chance if your a celiac, No way to trust your food will come out safe.
Just went in March, new owners, new menu. Gluten free items are not listed. Was are favorite place for gluten free Mexican food. I was instantly sick from chips and guacamole. I could not eat our entree's. My boyfriend was sick within an hour. Will not be eating here any more! It's a shame😞
Very ignorant and defensive server. Had to talk to a manager to find out that there were shared fryers and that there were mistakes on the menu --items that were listed as gluten free were prepared in the shared fryer. Left without ordering.
This place is a new favorite of mine. GF options are clearly marked on the menu, and there are lots and lots of great selections to choose from. It's so nice not to be limited to just 2 or 3 choices. They have a dedicated fryer and the bartender seemed to understand about cross contamination. The food was fresh and flavorful. I highly recommend this place.
Menu items are marked Gluten Free but are cooked in oil with flour items. Chips were brought to the table and said to be Gluten Free, after I asked them to double check they came back and said that chips were also cooked in the same oil as flour items. Waiter did not write down the order, so I was very nervous about the order getting done right. All of this happened during an extremely quiet time with less than 20 people in the restaurant, I would not risk it during a busy night.
I found that the menu, while supposed to be easy to identify GF, had a few hidden items, especially on the lunch menu. The manager was very helpful, though, and I've never been sick in all of the half dozen times I've been there. I really enjoyed the food.
My family attempted to eat here last weekend. My daughter & I both have Celiac Disease. Upon arrival, the appetizer plates on the table were dirty and there was food all over the menus. We tried to confirm the dedicated fryer status, but our waitress had no idea what we were talking about. A minutes later, after explaining that we couldn't eat the chips if they hadn't come from a dedicated fryer, she was suddenly sure that they had. I gave them 2 stars because the gluten-containing dishes are clearly marked on the menu, so they're trying. Their waitstaff clearly need to be trained on the subject, though. We weren't convinced that we could eat there safely, so we left.
Drinks were alright but no one here really knows what gluten is, and cross contamination is definitely a problem. So I ordered beans and rice.
There was no gluten free menu. Cross contamination is an issue.
The food was all really salty and overpriced, and the atmosphere was gaudy and overdone. When I told the waitress I had Celiac disease, she must not have been sure what that meant because she asked if I could have butter in something. :(
Great Mexican food! Just make sure you order corn tortillas!
The corn tortillas are made in a dedicated fryer. So I gave them credit for GF bread/buns above. They don't have a GF menu per se but mark gluten containing items with an asterisk. The manager was very helpful with ingredient allergen questions. We have a 3 year old with multiple food issues. He even brought items out from the kitchen so I could read the ingredients. Service was a little slow and a couple drinks were forgotten but everyone was helpful. We were a group of 10 with 4 GF including the food allergy nightmare 3 year old. We will definitely be back.
Management "gets it" that GF is a Requirement, not just a preference. Menu labelled GF with excellent selection. Kitchen accommodates all special requests including making a dish GF. Not what you'd expect from a chain! Helpful, friendly staff and delicious Mexifood. Try Spinach Chicken enchilada! Drinks coulllllld be stronger but, hey..... nobody's perfect.
I always get the vegetarian fajitas (4 times) and they come with corn tortillas which is great. The only problem I have is that 3 out of 4 times i found pieces of chicken in the fajita vegetables and that really disturbed me.
