We had an amazing dining experience at Pod Baranem during our recent visit. They offer a menu with gluten-free options clearly marked, and the staff are extremely knowledgeable about celiac and gluten-free requirements. Although it’s not an entirely gluten-free restaurant, I felt completely safe as they take cross-contamination seriously.
I enjoyed the stuffed cabbage rolls and breaded pork cutlets, both prepared gluten-free, and everything was absolutely delicious! My husband had the pierogies and steak, and we ended our meal with a delightful raspberry and eggnog cake for dessert. The food was authentic, flavorful, and beautifully presented.
The ambiance was perfect for an anniversary or date night, with a cozy, local charm that made the experience even more special. Excellent meal, wonderful service, and a great place to enjoy traditional Polish cuisine safely. Highly recommend for anyone with gluten allergy or sensitivity looking for an authentic dining experience!
Has a separate kitchen for gf food. Amazing experience from many menu items of polish comfort food in a fine dining setting. They also have gf beer which is hard to find at any store in Poland.

I had a great experience at this restaurant. The staff was very helpful about gluten-free food. Lots of dishes could be offered gluten-free, those were cooked in a separate kitchen to avoid contamination. I had pierogi ruskie (classical polish dumplings with white cheese) and they were delicious! I’ll definitely come back here.
I was determined to try some traditional polish food while we were away but it was very hard to do this as most of it had gluten in it. Pod Baranem was amazing for this though, as most of their menu could be made gluten free. Their menu had gf symbols next to things which could be made gf. I had meat pierogi to start and then beetroot soup with meat croquette. I really enjoyed my meal and would definitely have gone back if we'd had time to! I felt very at ease about asking for gluten free here and the food was delicious.
Great experience! They offered me different pierogis and had no problem with my other food sensitivities. I asked for the Russian without tomatoes specifically for that reason.

This is unlike the touristy restaurants in the main square of Krakow. There are lots of genuine Polish GF choices on the menu. The pierogi ruskie were so light and fluffy I wished I had ordered a second serving for myself. However, the ribs wrapped in cabbage were amazing too! And my non-GF daughter ordered the GF schnitzel and said it was one of the best she has ever eaten. I am not a dessert eater, but chocolate cherry cake was a recipe I would covet if I had it. Our waiter was incredibly friendly and checked often that we were enjoying our meal. Do not miss this restaurant in Krakow.
Amazing traditional polish food. Most of the menu is gluten free, so there is plenty of options. Gluten free beer is also offered of you are a beer drinker.
Food is hot and staff take great care in preparation to make sure there is no cross contamination. Large portion sizes and no price difference for gluten free meals compared to their gluten versions.
If you are in Krakow you really need to check this place out.
Sehr gutes Restaurant mit vielen Glutenfreie Gerichte, die man sonnst nirgendwo essen kann. Auch leckere GF Torten und Bier. Seit Jahren habe ich nicht mehr so "normal" gegessen.

A fabulous old Polish style restaurant with impeccable waiting staff . The menu vast and mainly GF with a lot of choice for desert too. Expensive ( about £90) for lunch but that was 3 courses each for 2 plus three alcoholic drinks. GF beer available.

Highly recommend this restaurant…seemed to fully understand cross contamination side of things and most dishes were GF. The food was amazing and the best GF lager I’ve had since diagnosis!
I couldn’t recommend this restaurant more for people wanting to experience traditional polish food that have a gluten allergy. The staff are really friendly and the food was outstanding. The eggnog cake was one of the best gluten free desserts I have had. Not only does it taste amazing it is also is aesthetically pleasing. Definitely worth the price.
Had pierogi, chicken broth and raspberry cake here, lots of dishes available gluten free as well as GF beer available. Staff were knowledgeable and friendly.

Amazing food and service is second to none. Staff are very attentive and noted how they can speak many languages. The menu was fantastic and words cannot describe how much I enjoyed it. Never had such choices plus I was finally blown away with the dessert menu. For the first time in years I was overwhelmed.
Amazing service and knowledge about gluten free. There are lots of traditional Polish food options. I had the gluten free pierogi which were delicious and breaded pork chop. The breadcrumbs tasted like normal. The sauces were also gf. All desserts but one were also gf. My friends who are not gluten free said their meals were the best they have eaten all trip. Highly recommend.
The best place in Krakow for gluten free food, the food was incredible, the waiters were very friendly and very knowledgable. Pretty much all their menu could be adapted for GF, this was the first time my partner and I could actually share our meals as he is a coeliac.

As previously mentioned in other reviews, this place is incredible. Many GF options, servers are knowledgeable about GF and cross contamination and the service is incredible.
Vriendelijk personeel, bijna alles kon glutenvrij gemaakt worden. We hebben heerlijk, zorgeloos gegeten. Het was echt een feestje!! Dikke 10 en het is 100% aan te raden.
Ik kan mij niet heugen wanneer ik zo heerlijk en vers heb gegeten!

I literally have no words. I’ve been backpacking for 1 month and can say is the BEST meal I’ve had in ANY country I’ve been to (and I don’t normally like Polish cuisine!!) I obviously went because gluten free pierogi’s, how could you not? Was absolutely BLOWN away and the prices are so reasonable!! Make sure you order the stuffed cabbage rolls with mushroom sauce… again just insane.

This place was excellent we ate there twice in our trip.
Our waiter was very knowledgeable and always acknowledged what was gluten free as he delivered it or we ordered it.
My gluten eating husband said the pierogis were the best he’s had while traveling Poland. We tried the cabbage rolls, pierogis, soups and schnitzel. I would’ve ate there everyday on our trip but my husband wanted something different.
Delicious, quality Polish food at very reasonable prices. Large choice although not absolutely everything was gluten free. Knowledgeable about cross-contamination: the waiter specified it was all cooked separately before I had to ask and I suffered no side-effects.
Went there for the anniversary dinner with my boyfriend. Quite pricey but the staff very knowledgeable about celiac disease and a danger of cross contamination. If you’re looking for something 100% safe I recommend this one
Exceptional food and service. A variety of gluten-free dishes highlighted on the menu. Staff had a very clear understanding of dietary requirements. We enjoyed our experience so much that we went twice during our visit to Kraków.
Nice food and very knowledgeable although a bit pricey
My first gf pierogi! Everything is marked if it’s glutenfree and most things were possible to get gf, lots of desserts as well but didn’t try any of them. They even said ”gluten free” as they came out with my pierogis which was really nice, usually I have to double check when ”dough food” arrives just in case (which makes me feel like an annoying guest) but no need here :)
Op aanraden van andere coeliakie gasten, tafel gereserveerd. Was zeker de.moeite waard. Heerlijk eten. Lekkere fles fijn en top bediening. Wij komen zeker terug.
Amazing restaurant with such a wide range of gluten free, perogi was beautiful and the gluten free beer is always a great surprise!
I couldn’t recommend this place more! I started out with chicken and dumpling soup, followed by pork chop and mashed potatoes! Everything can pretty much be made gluten free! The service was great as well!
