I'm giving one star for having a GF menu (although it is only available online and it took forever for the server to locate the tablet given to customers to access it) and one star because I didn't get sick from the food. That, however, were the only positives to my experience there. The service is terrible, the servers know nothing about GF and the food is mediocre at best.
I hate to even give 1 star because they don't deserve it! We had 3 different waiters that came to the table & not one of them knows what gluten is!! This restaurant has NO GLUTEN FREE MENU - NONE! My husband & I asked for the mgr to come to our table & talk to us- he refused, told his staff to hand us iPad & we could figure it out! I asked if fries were GF- waiter said they fry breaded food in same fryer! We got up to leave, saw mgr- (Ben) who said "we are just supposed to hand you the IPAD for you to figure it out! Don't try this restaurant - NO ONE KNOWS ANYTHING ABOUT GLUTEN ALLERGY!!!
Delicious food. Gluten free buns and fries. My husband and I are both highly sensitive to gluten, and neither of us had any reaction.
I have to say that I read the review below this afternoon when looking for somewhere to eat lunch. It's very hard to find GF stuff in Montgomery so I took a chance and decided to go for it. My server Candee was awesome and very knowledgeable about the menu. She reassured me that they completely change the oil for the fries and will not place anything else near the food. I also have other allergies such as fish/shellfish and milk, so it's especially hard for me to find things to eat. I had the Simply Grilled Chicken burger with the optional lettuce wrap. It was delicious and flavorful. I will definitely be going to this restaurant again.
I must say that I had a truly pleasant GF experience at this Red Robin in Montgomery, AL, while on my way to a business trip in Atlanta. I was nervous to try this place, considering the GF menu having SO MANY disclaimers. Upon calling, the manager Derek reassured me that they offer GF buns, prepare the food very carefully to avoid cross-contamination, and have a dedicated GF fryer for the french fries. With this reassurance, I decided to give them a try (a bold move considering the major business meeting I have in Atlanta tomorrow). My waitress, Toya, was even more reassuring. She quickly instructed me not to use the special Red Robin salt seasoning on my fries, and shared with me that a she regularly has people request GF accommodations. Pam from the local GIG group also recommended I try it, after sharing that their support group recently had a meeting there. I will definitely returning to this Red Robins and hope to have similarly pleasant experience at other locations within this restaurant chain.
First TimenI have been to a Red Robin and the manager didn't serve the gluten free order. Turned out not to be gluten free because I definitely got glutened. Now feeling very ill. Beware of this location. Have never had an issue with Red Robin at other locations.
We ordered curbside and were very specific on what needed to be gf and what didn't. The normal burger came with a gf bun and the Parmesan crisp that is not gf and gf fries. The lettuce wrap came gf, but had the glutinous fries. The other sandwich came with 1/4 cup mayo and gf fries. No idea what needed to be gf and not. We requested plenty of fries which did not happen. Also curbside came with no napkins. Will not stop here again.
Red Robin is one of my go to restaurants. I absolutely love their food and have never had a reaction (at other locations). They are very careful in the kitchen to ensure no cross contamination. They even have a separate fryers. That being said, I absolutely despise this location. We will drive out of our way to go to the one in Saint Matthews or the Summit so that we do not have to eat at the Clarksville location. The service is absolutely horrid and the food is never good. I’ve also had a reaction after eating at the Clarksville location. We’ve been to this location three different times and each time we leave extremely disappointed!! This location gives a Red Robin a bad name. I tell everyone I know not to go to Clarksville, it will turn you away from a good Red Robin experience.
If you ask for the gluten free menu they will bring out a tablet and you get to choose what to eliminate from the meal and it will tell you everything you can eat. I had the chili cheese burger with a gluten free bun and it was amazing. I'll definitely be going again.
I went here and felt prepared because I called ahead of time and asked about their GF options and how they reduce CC. I also looked at the menu online beforehand and chose a few things to ask about. My server was super nice about everything.. unfortunately when I got my food there was cheese on it (I'm also dairy free). I did have a reaction (probably cross contamination to gluten) - not the worst I've ever had but I don't think I'll go back to Red Robin.

I got the avocado bacon burger without a bun. This is a great choice for dairy, soy, and gluten free. Although the food was great, the service was not. As I was ordering the waitress asked what I wanted as a side so I looked at my phone to see which sides were safe according to the online allergen menu. She was obviously annoyed with it and stopped me in the middle of my order to take the rest of my table's orders. Then she came to fill up my water glass and dumped water all over my phone, said she was sorry, and walked away without attempting to help clean it up.
Updated review: BEWARE. We decided to try one more time in Mar 2018 (we had been contaminated the last two visits). It happened again with this visit, even tho the server said they cleaned the grill, wore gloves, etc. Hubby got sick as soon as we got home. Something has changed there and can’t risk going back again. Too bad since the food is tasty and the prices are good. Original review: Been here several times without a problem. However, make sure the server checks on the sauces. He told us one was GF but after checking found out it wasn't. Otherwise, they do a good job with GF.
One of the few places I can go to get a burger and fries and not get sick.
They have a designated fryer for the fries, and excellent protocols for the hamburgers with gluten-free bun. Best of all, they could not have been nicer about it. They were so proud of their separate station for allergen preparation and their plastic gloves. My celiac daughter did not get sick at all.
There were no gluten free menus in the restaurant. We were told we would have to go online and find the menu on Red Robin’s website. They did not have many kid friendly options besides a burger with gluten free bun or salad. We decided to go with the gluten free chicken tenders for our 6 year old with celiac. We were very disappointed to see, when our food arrived, that the chicken tenders were gluten free because they leave all of the breading off of them (basically strips of grilled chicken). I will say the staff was very friendly, and they manager brought out all my daughters food separately with gloves on. We were very pleased you could order gluten free fries (minus the seasoning).
Be sure to tell the wait staff when ordering that you have an allergy, they will flag your order. Since all of there sandwiches/burgers come with bottomless fries you can ask to start with a refill basket of fries while you wait for your food. Just be sure to note that you want gf fries.
Our visit to this Red Robin was not at all good!! Waitress was oblivious. Should have known there would be a problem when every time we asked for items like, napkins and sliver wear and we ended up getting the items ourselves, that would indicate a problem. I took my own bun cause I found buns I like better than Red Robins. So I ordered the burger in the lettuce wedge with no onions. Well there were onions and when I started to put the burger on my own bun I found the crispy onions that have gluten. Even though we received our meal at no charge and they made me another burger which the manager watched while it was made the damage was already done. Truthfully I would have rather paid for a good meal then a free bad meal!!
Something once went wrong and my order (a burger with GF bun) ended up coming with a sauce on it that isn't gluten-free that I had asked to get removed. The manager came out to check on me and apologized profusely, promising that he would find out why the mix up happened; and they remade the burger to be fully GF per my original order as quickly as possible. Kind of frustrated that they didn't gift me the meal considering the mix up, but I will probably still go here because it seemed like a one-off situation. PROS: * gluten free buns are available; the burgers are delicious * fries have a dedicated fryer * unlimited fries come with your order * iPads with food allergy menu information are available upon request * plethora of additional GF options besides burgers, including salads and entrees * many of the menu items can be modified to be 100% GF CONS: * relatively expensive burgers ($11-14 before tip)
This is my first time actually reviewing and not just reading other reviews. This place is so great I have to add my two cents. Super knowledgeable, super understanding, and super, super safe!!!
We have been to Red Robin in Providence Town Center Royersford many times. Their hamburgers are as good as a burger I have had anywhere. Great roll too. My one grandson loves their regular burgers, so when it is his turn to pick where to go, he always picks Red Robin, which is fine with me.
I enjoyed a GF burger, the bun was delicious! And GF cooked fries, also very tasty. They also informed me their fry sauce is mixed with a BBQ sauce that contains gluten (so thankful they informed me of that) so I asked for mayo so I could make my own GF friendly fry sauce with ketchup and seasoning on the table that was labeled GF.
Had to write a quick review for for my experience tonight - the manager (Rhonda) was absolutely phenomenal, maybe the best GF meal I've ever had. She came out after I let our server know I was celiac and went through the allergen list with me - when we couldn't figure out why the mushroom burger wasn't listed as a gf option even when the bun was swapped out, she went in the back and fried some mushrooms in olive oil herself! Rhonda brought up their separate fryer before I had even mentioned it, and brought out my dinner wearing a purple rubber glove to ensure as little contamination as possible. She was wonderful and I'll certainly be returning to this location, hopefully whenever she's on shift?
