Unfortunately despite numerous attempts to request GF and ask if the fryer was separate, etc., our fries came out with onion rings mixed in. When telling the waitress, she did not get the problem and asked that we just pick them out. I don’t expect everyone to understand what celiac is but this was not our best RR experience.
Red Robin has gluten-free buns for their burgers. Many locations also have dedicated fryers for gluten free-fries. Please verify with your server.
A few days ago, I went with my family to order food to go from this restaurant. I was the only one who needed gluten free, and I ordered first. They don't have paper menus or the fancy iPad I hear other Red Robins sometimes use. The waiter said I needed to download the Red Robin app that tells you what's safe. I fortunately already looked at the website and knew what I wanted to order. I got the plain bacon cheeseburger with cheddar cheese with the gluten-free bun (which was only $1 more -- totally worth it) and the fries. I asked if the fries were cooked in a dedicated fryer, and he assured me that they were. My food came in a clearly-marked box so as to keep me safe from the other gluteny food my family ordered.
It was superb! Although the meat seemed a bit overcooked, it was still very tasty and I had no adverse reactions. I am only gluten sensitive as far as I know, but I think they go to great lengths to keep us Celiac or NCGS people safe from a glutening. I do recommend downloading the app for your phone beforehand, though.
My 8 year old gets so sick after eating here. He gets a kids meal- burger and fries. I have a feeling it’s the fries as I just noticed they are not listed as safe on their allergy website. We are disappointed as we considered Red Robin as one of our safe restaurants.
UPDATE: Confirmed with managers fries are NOT gluten free. See email!
