Very knowledgeable staff, so many GF options and delicious food. A fantastic meal. My son was raving about the chicken and cheese tacos, the tasty guacamole and rice and corn. Top marks!
We really liked this place. Menu items clearly marked. Queso fundido with homemade corn tortillas & the carne Asada not to be missed. REALLY interesting presentation of the nachos as well - 3 layers of whole corn tortillas cooked as a stack with cheese and then broken up like a cake table side.
delicious Gf enchiladas and chips/salsa; ate at bar and she was very knowledgeable, prices reasonable for L. Manhattan.
Thx to this app we found this great restaurant- from the street looks like nothing - great service & delicious food!!!! Knowledgeable staff and all Gf food on menu is marked - yummy tortilla chips!!!
Fantastic mexican restaurant. Clearly marked GF options on the menu, bulk of the menu was gluten free. Also great cocktails!
Great guacamole! The waiter knew very good about gluten free and cross contamination! I had no problems after dinner!
Food was delicious! Homemade guacamole with GF chips fried in a separate fryer! Waiter was very knowledgeable about gluten, very accommodating. I'm fairly sensitive and had no reaction.
Amazing food, I go there all the time, never get cross contamination
Had amazing gluten-free enchilladas. Soooo delicious. Extensive gluten-free menu!
Great food - dedicated gf menu. And perfect for families.
Knowledgeable staff! Wonderful service and food! Chips are fried in gf friers. Our celiac kid enjoyed it very much!
Amazing food and GF options!
This place is a winner! I'm celiac and very sensitive, I get very nervous eating out, but I would go back with no hesitation. Great food, great options, and great service!
Had a lovely lunch there today. The tableside guacamole was yummy, the service was super attentive, and everyone enjoyed thier entrees. We all enjoyed the atmosphere too. It felt modern and spacious. The gluten-free menu was extensive. Highly recommend. (One thing: Dining in NY is never cheap, but I think this restaurant should have 3 dollar signs, not two)
We stopped by for dinner during a busy time and were, of course cautious, but, our waiter was knowledgeable and was helpful w/our selections. Being a celiac it was refreshing to have someone who was aware of the concerns. Our meals were good and glad we stopped by and no reactions afterward left us w/an overall good feeling about our stop. Was a great stop for our Mexican food fix. The only thing that would have made the experience better would have been a chips and salsa offering to start.
Good food. Separate menu shows what is gf. No reaction. Great ambiance.
Great food! Their GF menu has a lot of choices!
After getting a cc reaction at the columbus ave. location, I was very hesitant to eat here. But, the enchiladas were delicious and this very sensitive celiac didn't get sick at all.
Not my favorite kind of food however it was good and i felt really safe.
good gf options
Super good GF food, waitstaff understands GF and is able to navigate you through menu(you can view GF menu before going online, but didnt have actual GF menu available at restaurant). Defiantly will go next visit!!
There are several gluten free options ! The salsa is outstanding! The service however is immature! They have a lot to learn about keeping the dinning room peaceful and the customers first! Our sever was very distracted by her back of the house chores! The wait staff was busy playing and being loud even when addressed. Be prepared for a loud environment!
Not an entirely gf place but still safe! I’m giving this 4/5 stars only because when I asked about gf, the waiter told me only 2 items were not gf, which was not true. I asked to speak to the chef and he seemed annoyed with me. The chef was nice and assured me he would take care of me, which he did!! I had a shrimp and rice dish which was very tasty. The chips and salsa were delicious. I wanted to try the guacamole which they make table side, but there were only two of us and the portion was HUGE! I was nervous about getting glutened but I was totally fine. I’d just recommend placing your order with the chef so they follow gf protocol for cross contamination
We had a fantastic dinner- items are listed as GF on menu. Waitress explained they have separate kitchen prep areas. Tortilla chips are GF and fried in dedicated safe oil!! I also avoid dairy and they were very accommodating. Highly recommend.
This is by far the beat place I have ever eaten! A lot of options the hostess made the server aware of me having celiacs and immediately brought out gf chips and salsa annnddd an on the house order of something that was amazing. My husband and I both got gf meals so I could try more than one thing and it did not disappoint. All the staff were phenomenal!Definitely going back!!!
Staff knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. Half the menu was gf! It was hands down the best gf restaurant I’ve been to in terms of quality of food. Absolutely delicious. The portions are generous, atmosphere is good. It’s on the corner of a busier road, so keep in mind if you want to dine outside. We did and it was fine. Highly recommended by two with celiac.
Staff was knowledgeable of cross contamination and I was happy to see corn tortillas. GF items are clearly marked on the menu which is about half of their selection. The price is a little high if you’re going just for lunch but the portions are quite large for the main course items. So far I’ve had the Carnitas and the Alambre de Camarón and both were excellent!
As a person who loves Mexican food, I can confidently say that Rosa Mexicano is one of the BEST Mexican restaurants I’ve ever been too! Their table side guacamole was incredible and the menu is labeled with what is gluten free and the staff is very knowledgeable. HIGHLY recommend visiting.
Gluten free options were clearly marked on the menu. Corn tortillas were delicious. Chips are also gluten free. I had the brunch and the breakfast tacos with potatoes were good. Portions were reasonable. Although I'm from Texas so I expected a little bit of a bigger size plate, but I realize this is NJ not TX.
Delicious! Clearly marked GF menu with vegetarian options. The chips were safe to eat. ordered carnitas with grilled spiced pineapple, onion, and cilantro, corn tortillas. large portion served with beans, rice, chips and salsa. Any questions were easily answered by the manager who explained his girlfriend is celiac.
Awesome. i left feeling ill because of how much I ate. . It was all too good! The mild guacamole, made at the table, was perfect. . Our son had GF taquitos. . He loved the guacamole, rice, and beans. We went back to DC this year and had enchiladas and what the manager referred to as Mexican lasagna (chicken, corn tortillas, and cheese layers). Stuffed ourselves again. Only complaint is that there isn't one in our home town.
I had a really great experience here. There's a dedicated GF menu with lots of options. I ordered the suizas enchiladas with a glass of sangria and it was delicious. My husband (who can eat all the gluten!) wasn't impressed with his chicken nachos that were a little burnt but he really liked what I ordered. It was a little pricier than what we planned to spend on vacation for lunch but it was definitely worth it for the peace of mind and tasty Mexican food.
When I see fish tacos on a gluten free menu, I get VERY excited. What I got was very sad. The fish was completely unseasoned. Absolutely nothing on it. As the waitress put my dish down she said, oh the sauce isn't gluten free. There was no mention of this beforehand. The guacamole is phenomenal though.
