My daughter has severe Celiac. Read reviews and decided to try. Lobster enchiladas are marked GF on menu. After they arrived to the table, server double checked with the kitchen to make sure they were safe (I didn’t ask her to) - but we were then informed that the sauce had “a little bit of gluten.” Luckily my daughter hadn’t taken a bite yet. The manager refunded the meal and said they would look into it. My duaghter did eat the chips and shrimp tacos and seems fine. I would not trust this menu, though.
My teen has celiac and is both very sensitive and very anxious about getting sick eating outside the home. The menu is marked with GF symbols at all the safe items and our server, Alex, was clearly well trained and familiar with what was safe for our son. His knowledge eased my son’s worries. Everything was great!
The dedicated fryer is working again! I'm so glad because I really enjoyed the complimentary chips and salsa that were delivered to my table before I could tell my server. I also got the chicken enchiladas suiza with Mexican-style rice and it was delicious! Spicy but super flavorful! Great view from the balcony over the plaza and Capital Wheel, too.
Their dedicated fryer is down, so anything fried is contaminated. Ordered a salad that I was assured would be free of fried food but came with tortilla strips all over it. Had a much better experience 5 years ago when I last dined. In general feels like the restaurant has gone down hill, sticky, broken drawers/trim, and very retail.
Amazing food! We loved it as a mixed gluten free and gluten household. The waiter may not have known gluten but he was aware of all allergies substitutes. They use casacava tortillas and corn if asked. Separate fryer. We are from NYC so this was a good priced meal and we got three entrees and guac for about $100.
Very tasty food. I asked my waiter if the chips were fried in a dedicated fryer. He said yes, but went to check with the kitchen to be sure. Loved having chips and salsa. The Pork Carnitas de Cazuela was very delicious too! I don’t like corn tortillas, so I was able to sub the Gf Mexican rice. I love how fresh everything tasted. Great meal but a bit pricey.
Based on previous reviews I was looking forward to eating here because I’m from out of town. However, I brought my Nima Sensor just in case. The sensor saved my butt cause my test result was GLUTEN FOUND. I spoke to the manager showing him my result and when speaking to the chef he realized that they heat gf tortillas on the same burner as flour 😱 very glad I tested the food prior to eating even with the glowing reviews. I’ve had diagnosed celiac disease for 6 months now so this would have been awful had I just eaten the meal. The manager gave me the meal for free and made sure the replacement meal was made safely. Waiting to see if I have a reaction later. If I do I will definitely post on here.
Excellent service LOTS of great Gluten free options and accommodations for other allergies as well - egg & peanut
Service wasn’t that great and in our party of 8 only 2 people actually enjoyed their meal. They serve warm water.
Amazing food! They have many gluten free options and dedicated fryers. When we informed the waitress of our allergy, she immediately asked if it was Celiac's or preference. They really known the difference and make sure avoid cross contamination. The food is a bit higher than other places, however it is worth it. They are a more classy restaurant and they food was of great quality and taste.
They have a separate GF menu which has lots of options. The GF chips and guag are amazing! My boyfriend and I ordered the Nacho's and Carnitas both of which were really good. The location on the water is really pretty so this makes a good dinner and fun night out.
about as pricey as everything else in the area, but good food and great service. the bottomless chips and salsa are gluten free, as are both the bottomless refried black beans and rice that come to the table with your meal, so even if you don't find a lot you enjoy, you can fill up with the freebies. the menu is pretty extensive for gluten free, although not as many vegan options. I had a farmer's market vegetable fajita that was deliciously seasoned and a fairly large serving, and a side of fried plantains as well, also delicious, with the dairy on the side. their sangria was excellent as well. I definitely plan to come back here next year.
