Ordered online and called first. The meats and sauces are gf except pulled pork I believe and most the sides except creamed corn and chile stew. Would want to check out the breakfast but the allergen menu lists them all with gluten, maybe they use flour tortillas. Everything was excellent.
The person taking my order was attentive and was able to say what was safe and what wasn't. They produced a list of what food DID contain gluten. Meat preparation and gluten containing food appeared to be separate. My concern with cross contamination was slight, but was reduced by the attentiveness of the person taking my order. Overall, it seems safe for diners with celiac.
Good food. I also don't do dairy so we always get turkey, lean brisket and plain baked potatoes. The sauce is safe and so we either do that or add our own sauce at home. Do not get sausage, baked beans or pulled pork for sure.
Eaten there several time but without the sauce too scared to try but their meat are awesome yes even without the sauce :)
No gluten in the BBQ sauce! Rudy's hands out bread slices from the bag on request, and the bags of bread are at the register, not in the food-prep area. Cobbler is the only other thing with wheat in it. With so few wheat items in the kitchen, that really cuts down on cross-contamination potential.
Stopped in after a day in the mountains. We had brisket and jalapeño cheddar sausage with beans. Originally from Texas we have expectations for our BBQ and Rudy’s did not disappoint. Menu specific notes GF items. We didn’t want to use the sauce that is on the table for everyone because of contamination worries. A woman cleaning tables overheard us discussing this and she brought out single serve sauce packets. Great service, family friendly atmosphere, good BBQ.
My wife has a severe gluten allergy. We seen good reviews and they did not disappoint. I don’t think the person up front knew what gluten was (she asked if we needed wheat bread after we ordered) but all the meats I believe are GF. I was worried about cross contamination but my wife did fine. The GF “menu” or chart is online not in stores. Brisket was good but the ribs are better in our opinion! Try it out if you in the area!
Food was ok, but not great. Definitely better than a lot of barbeque places I've been. The potato salad and 3-bean salad were gluten free and decent, but I should have tried a different meat than the brisket. I felt ok after eating here so I think it was decently safe. They had an allergen chart for all of the items, which was nice.
