I tried this and did not get sick. The burger tasted great as a lettuce wrap. They do not have dedicated dryers so I only had the burger.

Always appreciate when they ask if it’s an allergy and mark it on the receipt to make sure they take extra precautions to keep your meal safe. Amazing fries (make sure to get the cheese) and ask for a lettuce wrap - better than a bun if you ask me

They have a wheat free menu as part of allergy guide. I ordered a hamburger on a gf bun. They cooked separately and I was hysterical to see a hamburger patty on a bed of lettuce:) Safe yet boring meal!

Haven’t had a problem, sometimes the staff offers fries but don’t get them since they use the same oil for fried foods. Watch out for some of they’re shakes and don’t get any of the malted shakes.

GF buns available. Not celiac friendly. Shake Shack website has an allergen list for menu items. Company does not recommend ordering fries as fryer is shared with the shroom patty, which is battered and fried.

Best burger I ever had, even counting pre-celiac. The gluten free bun was so amazing that I was scared it wasn't gluten free. It was soft and squishy and didn't fall apart at all. My boyfriend and mom (not gf) tried it too and said they wouldn't have known it was gf. I went here while passing through so I just wish there were more locations. If you're ever in Atlanta, this is THE place to stop!! Life changing!

The guy asked if my gluten free request was a preference or an allergy. After he said that, I felt this place took it seriously. I got a GF burger for my little girl. When they called me up to pick up my order, the manager told me how carefully they prepared my daughter's hamburger. They also put it in a separate tray so it wouldn't touch the other food I ordered. She loved it! Unfortunately, the French fries shared the same fryer.

When I ordered a burger with a gf bun, they asked if it was an allergy or a preference. My allergy was noted on their system and clearly printed on the order paper that came with my tray. No dedicated fryer so couldn't get the fries. The gluten free bun didn't fall apart.

I do not have typical gastric symptoms if I am glutened, however, Shake Shack has an allergen menu, and I told the cashier that I had a gluten allergy and she marked my order and assured me that by marking the order as an allergy order, it triggers the cook staff to change gloves and wash surfaces. I had a Shack burger and a chocolate shake. Very pleased.

If you are gluten free for health reasons and sensitive, do not eat the fries. They share the same oil as their breaded chicken. Nice atmosphere though and they can print out a list of things on the menu that may contain wheat.

They do NOT have a gluten free fryer. While I enjoyed the burger, the bun was too good to be true. Yes, they'd put it on a regular potato bun, while still presenting it on its own tray as gluten free. Never again.

We took a chance and ate the fries, even though I think the fryer is not guaranteed to be dedicated. Ate there twice on our trip and neither of us got sick either time.

They truly did try to accommodate me and gave me a burger with no bun, they made clear they couldn't ensure absolute safety because of cross contamination and the food was delicious. Unfortunately, although I used to love Shake Shack prior to allergies it is not a place I can confidently recommend to others with sensitivities/ allergies/ celiacs.

I often grab a burger and shake here when my work day is longer than expected. They do have GF buns and all of the staff I encounter are very knowledge about which items on their menu are GF, which are cross contaminated. Those who are very sensitive may want to avoid as they do warn that they do not have a separate kitchen to prepare GF foods in.
