This place is fantastic in every way: the place, the food, the people -- all just wonderful.
Perhaps the best gf baked goods I have ever eaten.

Amazing gluten free sandwiches, muffins, and tasty goodies. A busy place, but worth the visit.

Friendly , knowledgeable staff . I had the GF Veggie Hash and the Salted caramel cheesecake and both where very delicious . She told me they take celiac GF very seriously, she informed me that they will use new, clean tongs , fresh parchment paper and the chef will change their gloves to make my order, and of course it will also be made with love .

I spent 3 nights in Shirley and was a little weary of trying their GF baked goods as they are not a dedicated GF establishment and I have celiac disease. However, I was pleasantly surprised. They bake in dedicated GF trays, use new/dedicated GF tongs and clean surfaces prior to cooking GF foods. Best muffins and GF brekkie bun I’ve had! So good! Can’t wait to come back. Been eating it everyday for 3 days and no reaction at all.

On my first and only visit to the cafe, I was overwhelmed by all the gluten-free options for baked goods. I am sure that many of these options are truely gluten-free. I ordered a baked good labelled as gluten-free (and confirmed with the staff it was gluten-free in that it did not contain non-gluten-free non-pure-oats etc.) and a coffee. A couple hours later I was extremely ill. As someone with celiac disease who is cautious about eating out and careful about adhering to a gluten-free diet, this is the only time I have been so sick from ingesting gluten over the past ten years. Upon contacting the cafe once I became ill, the staff told my family they would investigate, asking what I purchased. As it turns out, the staff said they had labeled that particular baked good gluten-free because they usually recieved a baked good that looked exactly like it that was gluten-free. They apologized sincerely and offered a gift certificate to their cafe which was a kind gesture; however I will never return there. I was assured an item I was purchasing was gluten-free, when it was in fact a conventional gluten product. Mistakes happen, but personally I would never eat there again.
