I’ve gotten sick the last few times I’ve eaten here. The gluten-free menu has been updated and indicates that their masago is not gluten free. Waitstaff is quick to offer tamari sauce, but even when I tell the wait staff about needing gluten-free, the past few times I’ve ordered the food has come out with bits of masago on it. Have even had bits of tempura on my food before (they use wheat tempura). They definitely do not take measures against cross contamination :( ate there on April 7th and am currently in a lot of pain…..the service was otherwise great!

I was glad Sushi AI had a separate GF menu and GF soy sauce, but the GF menu was very sparse and only included very basic sushi rolls. Pretty much the only ingredients listed were seaweed, rice, cucumber, avocado, carrot, as well as raw tuna, salmon, and shrimp. I was disappointed that so few sauces were GF. However, our server was extremely accommodating and made sure to double-check the items I was ordering to make sure they were safe.

They have a gluten free menu and can make much of the sushi gluten free. They also have gluten free soy sauce. Avoid appetizers and fried items as the frier is not gluten free. Also strangely enough although this Sushi Ai has many options, the downtown location doesn’t have any gluten free options

Ask for the GF menu to see what is available!! I usually tell my waitress that I have an allergy and she informs the chef. I have eaten here 20+ times safely, but was once told the salad was GF when it (certainly) was not. I stick to the rolls/nigiri now and have not had a problem!

I used to work here and all I can say is if you have celiac don’t eat anything except white rice here. Yes they have GF soy sauce and make modifications but they do not understand how serious cross contamination is. Just from being in the kitchen and seeing all of the food prepared I would not recommend anyone with celiac eat here. Fantastic restaurant otherwise though

The chefs will customize any sushi roll to leave out things like tempura flakes (even in the cream cheese/honey mixture) or eel sauce. They also carry gluten free soy sauce for dipping upon request.
