I ordered a GF crepe and it was not what was brought to me. I hadn't asked for ice cream but it was on top so I double checked with a staff member and he said that it was not the GF crepe. They did remake it but if you are highly sensitive I'd be overly cautious here.
Very nice place that was well recommended. Must have been an off night tonight because I was glutened. Feels like a case of cross contamination; I am super sensitive. It was a shame, because it is a cute restaurant with friendly employees. I had the Chicken Picatta Crepe. It was tasty, although the chicken was a little over cooked.
This little crepery is very reminiscent of our favorite place in Paris. It had a large variety of both sweet and savory options that were GF. The cooking area was clean and I had no reaction symptoms after eating there. We will DEFINITELY be back!
The crepes are GF upon request, but the side salad has dressing with gluten. I've been there twice and both times they didn't bother to not use the dressing. Also, if you're dairy-free there are no options. Staff doesn't seem to care about medical issues.
This charming creperie in Rice Village offers gluten-free/vegan batter to be substituted in any crepe and has many delicious gluten-free filling options.
Got a crepe with their gluten/dairy free batter - after forgetting to ask for no whipped cream they had told me they left that off since I mentioned my gluten + dairy allergies. Much appreciated! They also let me look at their oat milk to make sure it was gluten free. Patient staff. I’m not sure about cross contamination and didn’t watch them prepare the food.
As much as I was dying to try their GF crepes, I refuse to be ripped off for it. First of all they’ll charge you $18 for a gf crepe that probably costs them $2 to make. I understand costs for basic goods have risen substantially but then forcing me to pay a 15% service fee for counter service was just ridiculous. If this place can prove they pay their workers living wages … like atleast $20 an hour then maybe I’d consider going back. Until then I don’t recommend this place.
We went first thing in the morning so the griddle shad already been cleaned and nothing used on them that day!!
They had a huge variety of gf crepes you could get. One I had wanted had béchamel sauce on it - I didn’t get it but should have asked if they had a gf sauce, I just presumed they did not. That’s on me. But the one I had was absolutely delicious! My only critique was that it was huge and I couldn’t finish it! (Rather that than underwhelming and still hungry when you leave).
They had the gluten free/allergy notice put into the ticket and brought out separately. It looked like they were taking all the precautions seriously.
I’m definitely coming back here!
All crepes can be made GF ingredients, but make sure you ask for it to be made with the GF crepes. They use rice flour in the crepes and in white sauces ( for savory crepes). Had a savory California. Comes with side salad. It was delicious. Well worth the price - which is on the higher end for order-at - counter, but the atmosphere is cute, light and fresh. Highly recommend.
