75 percent of this awesome lil bakery is GF. And might I say it is unbelievable!!! They have a wide range of baked goods that are better than most traditional bakeries. In their website they explain their processes for handling GF/standard items. You might have a little wait, but it's worth it!
Absolutely delicious desserts!! They’re super safe and always ask “is it for an allergy?” when people want gluten free desserts so they can be extra careful! They always have new flavors rotating and it’s always so exciting to stop by to try amazing, safe desserts for a great price! My gluten detection service dog, Oakley, always passes their treats!
I’m absolutely obsessed with this place and have been even before my diagnosis. Their donuts are not GF but nearly half of what they have is GF - mostly loafs, cupcakes, other sweet treats. They wake up super early and bake from scratch and the menu is always changing. They also cater to vegan/dairy free/other allergies and basically give off a cool, hipster vibe. You gotta come early to get the good stuff because there is almost always a line and they run out of the favorites before midday.
It's not 100% gluten free but a good chunk is, they have a dedicated prep station. But, I don't think the food is very good. I went with somebody who can eat gluten who agrees, says it's similar to the quality you'd get from Publix. If you're really craving bakery goods it'll probably do the trick, but you may be better off making your own or getting it shipped from elsewhere like Katz gluten free bakery which ships across the country.
Really friendly folks at the counter, I let them know I was celiac and they immediately explained all the precautions they take, as well as proactively acknowledging the risk of airborne CC with their wheat products.
I had the lemon loaf and it was killer, great with a cup of coffee. Highly recommended!
What’s there not to like? A delicious and varied assortment of MANY GF bakery items, kept off to themselves. The facility also makes gluten containing products but they have a Dedicated gluten-free prep area and other equipment. During the winter they have gluten-free biscuits and gravy. Hard to find. A gem of a place. Prepare for a long line that does not move very fast, line can snake out the door well down the side walk. Worth a trip.
There was actually a really nice variety of gluten free items, and they were all good!
I tried a cookie - perhaps my favorite. A few cupcakes - good. A muffin - really good (maybe favorite, too?). And some bread things I can't remember what they were called - my least favorite, but does not mean they were not good.
I felt safe and the gluten free items were in a separate case from the non gluten free items. That's great!
Only downside - I ate myself sick from eating too much if the good stuff too quickly. Oops. Lol.
Most amazing gf and df cake and frosting anywhere! Im from STL and there’s nothing that comes close there
Absolutely incredible food. Definitely worth the hype. My kids got donuts (not gf) and we got cupcakes and coffee cake. The cupcakes were AMAZING, the strawberry frosting was to die for. They take cross contamination seriously. Dedicated GF area and kitchen utensils. Staff was fantastic. Everything is milk, peanut and egg free. Some great information on their products listed on their website. We will be coming here next time we're in town.
They asked if we wanted separate boxes for the gluten vs gluten free items. I didn’t pay attention to glove changing since we don’t have allergy issues
We went around 2 in the afternoon so they were sold out of items understandably. Gluten free items were pretty good. Loved the coffee Cale and carrot loaves the most
Handling social distancing responsibly. Requires mask. 6ft apart line savers clearly marked and limiting # of people inside. I saw someone sanitize the door handle and trash can lid while we were there
They gave my daughter almond milk after asking for regular milk she has a peanut allergies!!
We’ve been here quite a few times. The staff used to be very careful about CC. However the last time we went (which was a few days ago), I watched numerous times the staff would grab donuts and then get GF items without changing gloves. Even after telling them about my allergies, they put my GF coffee cake on the counter as another staff member was putting donuts right next to them. I would maybe understand if they were busy but they weren’t at the time. I did also notice it was all new staff so maybe they need extra training or reminders to take celiac seriously?
So many amazing things! Dedicated kitchen space, and dedicated section just for gluten free. Amazing place!
Oh boy is this good. There were at least 6 gf options including gf coffee cake, lemon poppy cake and snickerdoodle cake. So light - in a taste test, no way could you tell these are gf. Sweet staff, quaint Riverside location. Highly recommend!
Amazing bakery, everything except the biscuits and doughnuts are GF. Go early in the day to get the best selection, but you can’t really make a bad choice here!
Lots of GF options that taste amazing! Really they told me the only none GF items were the donuts and biscuits which was fine with me because they had so many other things to choose from! The "Bonuts" are killer so beware because you may end up eating way more then one like I did.
First time seeing an ENTIRE bakery case of gluten-free baked goods!! Every single one looked better than the last. Streusel coffee cakes were amazing, and banana loaf was the best we'd ever eaten. Your non-gf family members will love the giant donuts and the cinnamon rolls are the Best. In. The. World!! (Not an exaggeration.). My only frustration: there are only 5 stars available for this review. I needed an entire galaxy for true representation.
