We had a fabulous meal! The food was excellent, with a variety of chicken skewers, beef tenderloin, jackfruit tacos, and some exotic options like puffin and foal that we didn’t try. The staff were incredibly knowledgeable, and when a member of the group without celiac ordered sliders, they came by to make sure we knew it had gluten. We felt very safe, and no one had any reactions. They also have fun alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.

Amazing experience! The waitstaff checked to make sure every sauce and spice was safe for me and even had back-ups picked out in case we needed to alter the dishes. They said almost anything can be made gluten free, but our selections turned out to already be safe. The drinks were great, and the food was mind-blowing. Flavor-combinations that went beyond our already high (because Icelandic food is impressive) expectations. I had no adverse reactions to the Icelandic light (=GF) beer either! My favorite meal of our whole trip. 10/10

We've spent a week in Iceland and it was the worst service we've had. The waistaff took 20 minutes to come to our table and when they did, they guessed at what was gluten free. They asked how "Celiac" my daughter was. Weird... Either you have Celiac or you don't. If you have it, you need certainty that everything is gluten free. We left after having our drinks.

Loved this place! I ordered the journey, which was 6 or 7 tapas plus dessert. It was so much delicious food. I’m a sensitive celiac and had no issues.

I can not stress enough how insanely good my experience was here. Very attentive staff and some of the most unique and delicious dishes I’ve had in years. Normally I get put off when a menu doesn’t have gf labels but the manager and waitstaff were so attentive and were also able to accommodate our dishes (also communicating the exception being fried food)
You will love every bite and the drinks are insanely good too. Awesome atmosphere, worth every Króna (highly recommend the octopus and Chile mojito)

The most amazing restaurant I ate at in Iceland! The menu is not marked gluten free but the staff was well informed on what could be made gluten free and what could not. Lots of gluten free options, great environment, and fantastic food. I got #10, 22, 45. All to die for!

I felt safe with everything I ate and had no reaction(I’m a sensitive celiac)! My server was very knowledgeable and checked with the chef on anything she was unsure about. The potions are smaller and it is expensive, but the food is safe and yummy!

Had an incredible meal here! Food was delicious and much of the menu could be made gf. Waitress assured they would avoid cross contamination and I did not get sick. Highly recommend!

Just wow! I can not say enough about this restaurant. Lots of options. Fresh, innovative and simply delicious. This was my first stop and I hope the bar hasn’t been set too high! But no worries, I could eat here everyday.

This place has been our best meal in Reykjavík! We had the tuna in avocado purée, the cheese board, pan seared scallops, lobster and beef medallions. All of it was superb! The waitress double checked each plate with the chef and they modified a few items to work. We got there early and the restaurant was super quite which I think made it much easier. Shared kitchen space, but the food was delicious and I’m feeling great!

The staff were so helpful/knowledgable as soon as I mentioned that I have to have a strict gluten free diet - they even mentioned the word Coeliac before me!! Fully reassured by all staff being made aware and all of whom sounded like they understood the severity of it. Got the standard ‘we handle gluten in our kitchens so cannot be 100% sure’ etc. But I had no problems and two other Coeliac’s were there on the same night. Deffo recommend!
Yes
I have celiac and ate here. The food is delicious and they are understanding. I did have to double check a couple things. They brought out something with a side of bread but were very good about checking for me and the host came by to apologize for bringing out the wrong plate. Celiac friendly but would be careful and ask questions. Got the Icelandic 5 course menu and was delicious!
Yes
Excellent food and celiac friendly, great staff. — update: we ate there a second time since it was great the first time and my celiac wife had a pretty bad reaction. So food was still great but it is hit and miss on the celiac safe.
No
Not a great place. They're very aware of celiac, but still cross contaminated my food. Super expensive too.

First impression of this tucked away below street-level jewel: Warm, red-lit, boisterous yet not overly loud, and the perfect choice for our date-night splurge on an otherwise budget conscious trip. As a celiac who's extremely sensitive to cross contamination, I research restaurants in advance (it's rated well on FindMeGlutenFree and I'll be reviewing there too). So we made a reservation and I went in with full confidence, which was confirmed when the hostess immediately turned to me with a smile and assured me they were prepared. I wanted to sample everything, so when I asked our lovely server whether she recommended the Icelandic Gourmet Feast or the Chef's Choice, she told me the former would be the best route. My husband chose the latter. That meant we were being served multiple dishes at different times. The chef came out to speak with me directly and suggested I avoid the included sample of Brennevin as it's a barley-distilled spirit (I took his advice). On a busy Saturday night, this well-staffed, smoothly run establishment had different servers running food, and each one described our dishes, and knew to confirm to me that mine was gluten free. When one accidentally (yet understandably) gave me a dish meant for my husband, our "primary" waitress swooped over and corrected things before he'd even finished speaking! I feasted deliciously and safely; every bite was exquisite, and the juxtaposition of the best of Icelandic dishes with the Spanish-style not-so-small plates and decor/music, plus the romantic yet relaxed atmosphere, made for the perfect experience in every way. It was a pleasure and an honor to dine here, and I thank each and every employee for making our last night in Reykjavik such a delicious delight.

Went here during my honeymoon - the food was really good and the server was familiar with Celiac& gluten issues but there is NO GLUTEN FREE MENU. My husband and I shared the Chorizo/Serrano starter plate (I only ate the horseradish sauce & honey jam onion topping - did not try the other 2 sauces because I can't handle too much spice) Dish normally comes with bread but was removed for us. Then we split the #2 (bacon wrapped scallops) & #44 (mushrooms). Many other dishes appeared to be GF or GF friendly. Would definitely go back!

I am Celiac and dairy-free - I chose several options off the menu and my server was able to make suggestions and ask the chef about variations. I had 3 wonderful dishes and didn't have any issues. I recommend it!
My favorite restaurant in Reykjavík! They are very eager to make sure the meal is safe and enjoyable.

They offer a 7 course Icelandic tapas feast and when I asked the waitress if it could be made gluten free she replied, "No problem," and didn't blink an eye. Some of the dishes were the same as my non-gluten free husband had, other had different sauces or other variations that they identified as gluten free when served. Great experience!
