This was the first gluten free restaurant we found when we moved here. They are extremely conscientious of gluten allergies, probably one of the best in terms of that. I loved their summer menu items but their fall options haven’t seemed as well balanced and I wish they had more not fried options.
This restaurant is one of the best around me for GF. It's up there with Burtans, Tavolinos, The Neighborhood Tavern, and Arturos (some other reccomendations around here). I order chicken tenders usually, but they have burgers, pizza, sandwiches, salads, and other foods. I ordered the Mac n cheese with crispy chicken today. I wouldn't recommend, because I didn't love it, but still good, and everything is flagged GF. Amazing resturaunt!
The food has always been good—this is like the 5 th Tavern I’ve been too. I ordered the quinoa bowl and it was amazingly delicious—-everything was flavored well. Waiter was knew and was extremely helpful with my allergy concerns.
Bad service, bad food, long waits, cross contamination, and lack of proper allergen policies. We had reservations on the night of the NBA finals. When we arrived they made us wait 15 minutes for our reserved table. Once we sat we again waited another half an hour to be greeted by our waitress. Granted this was after my boyfriend went up to the hostess stand and asked if we had been assigned a server. About five minutes later our waitress greeted us. We placed our order as soon as she came to the table. We ordered gf chicken tenders, gf fried pickles, and gf mac and cheese. The fries came cold so we kindly asked that they bring warm fries. When the fries came back they were not marked gf so this may been cross contaminated. However, after leaving the restaurant I was immediately running to the restroom. Under the impression the gluten was in l the fries I had tried to eat the mac and cheese left overs the same occurred where I was running to the bathroom. Upon further investigation it looked as though there were black beans and green peppers in the dish which may be proof of contamination. Do not go here if you are sensitive at all.
I’ve had many good experiences at tavern in the square, however tonight’s takeout experience was BAD. I ordered a pasta dish for takeout (bayou chicken pasta) and had a few bites before realizing there wasn’t an “allergy” sticker on my container. I called as soon as I noticed, the manager got on the phone and told me that the pasta would not have ridges if it was gluten free. I asked if she was sure, because I’d already eaten a few bites of the pasta with ridges. She’s refunding my meal and having the manager above her call me tomorrow. I am so mad, not to mention hungry without anything to eat and hoping that the contamination doesn’t make me incredibly sick. If I could give negative stars for tonight’s experience I would.
Great food! They have a dedicated fryer and GF items are marked on the menu. They also come out with allergy sticks. We ordered the bang bang broccoli, Brussels sprouts with truffle aioli, honey sriracha chicken tenders, and the chicken bayou pasta. The appetizers were on point. My pasta was a bit undercooked and salty but good.
Jury is still out. I wanted to love this place , especially since they were at the gf expo. The waitress was very knowledgeable and my food came out with allergy flags. However my dessert did not end it was stated this was all safe foodZ however 45 mins later I was very ill at home and all night. I did call the next day and the managers are looking into heat ingredients in the flourless cake is not safe as I definitely was glutened.
being so close to my work, my colleague friends and i choose this location for after work drinks and meet ups! never gotten sick from this location, even when ordering in larger groups. i flag down the server in the beginning and communicate well with them. it may help that most of the orders at my table are the same (tenders and fries). also, we usually rotate which flavor of margarita tower to share at each visit!
