This place is my favorite everytime we go into Boston. Even my non GF hubs has liked all the GF things hes tried of mine. There bang bang chicken tenders are awesome! Very good when it comes to being safe. Eaten there 4 times and never been sick. Headed back today for my 5th time! Highly recommend this place!

Went here before a concert. Talked to a manager David via phone beforehand. Asked about the farro in one of the GF salads - he said if you tell your server you have CD, they know to remove the farro. Their menu is labeled for things that are GF and also things that can be accommodated to be GF. Multiple GF fryers! Pizzas! Normally I strongly dislike chains but I’ll be back!

They brought my son a grilled cheese on gluten bread, even though I asked the waitress literally 5 times to make sure that it was GF. I even asked again after she brought it out as it didn’t seem like GF bread and she said it was. I asked a manager and it wasn’t - it was regular bread. Unfortunately my son had already eaten half of it. The waitress was also extremely rude and had major attitude, on top of being totally incompetent (I think her name was Maritza). The waitress also told me that the chicken tenders did not have dairy (the other allergy my other GF kid has), but when I asked her to confirm it turns out they are cooked in buttermilk. Unbelievably horrible service. Avoid this place as they hire incompetent waitstaff who will put your health at risk.

Highly recommend this restaurant- fantastic atmosphere, food and service. Our motivation to come here tonight was because of their extensive GF options. My daughter has celiac disease and they were able to provide safe gluten free options so readily and attentively. They have a separate fryer- She even enjoyed fried pickles for the first time ever! VERY SAFE RESTAURANT and enjoyed by us all! We are especially thankful to and for our waitress Victoria also- who served us with such warmth and ease. She really helped to make sure this was the best experience.

Took my grandkids out to dinner before a Bruins game. I was surprised at the number of gf offerings in the menu. I had a Japanese noodle dish; it was ok but contains an unidentifiable spice I don’t like ( perhaps cilantro). I ate all the veggies instead. The girls were delighted with their meals and ate every bite, which is unusual for them. Server was attentive & considerate of both my dietary needs and the kids’ excitement, which I appreciated as it was very busy. Would recommend.

I was visiting Boston for the day earlier in the week when I went here for lunch. I explained to the server that I had a severe gluten and dairy allergy. They assured me that getting a turkey burger on a gluten free roll with steamed broccoli was safe for me. I asked about cross contamination and they assured me there was a separate grill and it was totally safe for me to eat. Unfortunately, within 30 minutes of eating only half of my meal I was running to the bathroom. It took me 3 days to recover from this poor meal. I was extremely disappointed because the reviews were great and the server seemed knowledgeable. I would not recommend going here if you are very sensitive.

The menu has items that can be modified to be GF marked as such. When we arrived I was shown the GF markings on the menu. We ordered the fried pickles and I notified the server that I had a gluten allergy. Our server stated that “the entire menu was gluten free” which was contradictory to the hostess we were also told that all their bread was gluten free. I was immediately alarmed due to the fact that on the menu an extra charge of $2 is added to substitute gluten free bread. If all of the bread was GF then why would there be an extra charge? We orders 2 sandwiches and I specified that I wanted the GF bread for both to which the waitress again stated that the “all the bread is gluten free”. One thing I do commend the restaurant on is that the manager brings out the GF food. In my case it was a good thing because when our food was brought out I immediately noticed that the two sandwiches had two different types of bread. One was on a gluten free bun and the other was clearly not. When I brought up the matter the manager apologized and took the one sandwich away to fix it. Bottom line is that if you have a severe allergy I would steer clear of this place. Had I took the waitress’s word I would have unknowingly consumed gluten. It’s clear that the waitress was not educated on gluten allergies and was giving out incorrect information. Management handled the situation well and took the time to explain the mistake to the waitress. My hope is that this can be used as a learning experience for the staff on the severity of advertising gluten free options and not being knowledgeable on the topic.

Tons of GF options- gf buns, gf pizza, gf fried food- all cooked in a separate friolater to keep safe from cross contamination 3. I have eaten here several times before games and the staff is always knowledgeable about allergies. They have an extensive GF menu, and can make almost anything GF. They have Udi's buns, pizza crust, beer, and a dedicated fryer. They also have GF onion rings and battered chicken fingers (however these do contain dairy). Since the fryer isn't safe for my dairy allergy, they cook fries and tater tots in the oven for me and they're just as good! I've yet to be disappointed with their food, I highly recommend stopping here!

I was really excited to go here. After a long trip with no gf options available I was ready for a big meal. I talked to the server about my intolerance (extremely sensitive celiac) and they seemed to know what they where doing. I was so happy I decided to order and angry orchard cider while waiting for my food. The drink came out and without thinking I took a quick gulp from the cup... It was beer.....iv been sick for a week now... Thanks guys! ..... I hope this business does a better job in the future of educating their staff on celiac disease and how to bring cider to those who order it .... Great food but if you're a celiac watch out!!

I had a great meal here after arriving at North Station en route to a destination with questionable GF options. Everyone I interacted with (hostess, server, manager) was extremely knowledgable about gluten free options and cross contamination and it's clearly something they take seriously. I had a more in-depth conversation with the manager, Sal, about kitchen practices and he inspired a lot of confidence. Plus, lunch was delicious. (I had the Southwestern BLT with sweet potato fries.) Got curbside due to the pandemic. Menu marked with gluten free items. I ordered menu items marked gluten free. Southwest tots, cornflake fried chicken and buffalo cauliflower were the menu items I ate. Either they weren’t prepared gluten free or some of it got contaminated. The night we ordered I had a rash and a migraine but didn’t think it was the food because of the listing of gluten free. I had leftovers the next day and that’s when I knew rash again migraine and my insides were on fire. Not sure how they go about gluten free in the kitchen and precautions to prevent cross contamination. Something went wrong.

I can see why there are mixed reviews on here. Went here Sunday during a busy brunch and ordered off the menu. Everything they fry is rice or corn flour so it’s all safe the manager assured us. Definitely go here, but be sure to overly mention the seriousness of gluten free.

This used to be my go-to place but not anymore. I ordered to-go and was very clear about my order being gluten free. I got home with my meal and they gave me a regular bun for my burger. I called up, explained I have celiac disease and then explained the problem. The person on the phone asked me if I was sure- to which I replied that there is a distinct visual difference in GF and regular buns. I asked to speak to a manager who asked me to describe the bun and he confirmed that it contained gluten. He was very apologetic and did refund my meal, but I told him that I now no longer feel safe eating there.

The majority of the menu is or can be made gluten free and there is limited room for cross contamination. Sal told us about their certified gluten free desserts and offered for us to try the Brownie. I’ve been GF for almost 20 years and this is by far one of the best brownies I’ve ever eaten!! It comes out in a wrapper to prevent any possibility of contamination as it is a certified GF item. They have another NSF Certified GF dessert which is a marshmallow rice crispy bar, I’ll be trying that one next time! Great food, amazing service and they do everything possible to ensure your meal is to your satisfaction. Thanks Sal!!!!

Unfortunately, this location is not up to par with other Tavern in the Square restaurants. Per their manager, their chicken/steak has a high risk for cross contamination due to being cooked on the same grill and was less than helpful when asked if a separate pan could be used. There is no dedicated fryer at this location either. Due to risk for cross contamination and unwillingness to accommodate, I would not recommend this location.
