I informed my server I was GF due to Celiac. She was knowledgeable and informed.. stated she would have items prepared in dedicated fryer. The onion rings were on the menu as gf.. I asked about the batter and they were prepared with crushed potato chips. The manager brought out my meal certifying it was prepared gf.

A lot of options (including fries!) safe for Celiac. I've been there 4+ times and have never had a reaction. The manager always brings out the gluten free meal separately. Never disappointed!

Almost the entire menu can be made gluten free! Prices are on the medium high side with an additional charge for gluten free buns, BUT it is worth every dollar!

I had a great experience here. We went as a group of four (3 of us have celiac and one eats gluten free to prevent the rest of us getting contaminated) and ordered fried calamari, crab fritters, pizza, and two sandwiches. Everything was DELICIOUS and nobody had any reaction.

So many options and everything is really good (by the standards of what it is, which is your basic American pub grub). Order gluten free and your food will be brought out by a supervisor to confirm it is what it should be.

Well, after having a bad experience at another location, I have been avoiding this chain. But recently was encouraged by a friend to give it try once more. At least at this Cambridge location, the staff appeared to be very knowledgeable, helpful and they say that there is always a dedicated fryer. I had a very good experience. So if I want to eat at a Tavern on the Square, I will go the extra miles to Cambridge. The staff and expanded menu made it worth the trip.

Tons of options. My waitress had Celiac which is always an extra layer of caution. Almost everything was gluten free on the menu, even buns and fried fish (which was delicious though the bun fell apart a bit). Dedicated fryer so could have not only breaded deep fried items, but also french fries. Yay! Two gluten free beers as well as ciders. Manager served me food. Very good. Waitress said pasta will be coming soon!

I had a gluten free veg burger. The next day I experienced severe gastric distress which lasted several hours. I have celiac and it is dangerous for me to have it and I got a bellyful l of it at this location.NEVER again!!!

The manager brought me a salad with my dreams-encrusted tuna instead of my mashed potatoes and green beans, but I was do hungry I didn't care. At the bottom of the salad I found a bunch of wasabi peas. Although I have seen these in gluten-free form it's rare. I want suspicious until I got back to the hotel, when severe cramps and diarrhea cimmenced for the test of the evening. I had to cancel my plans for that evening and the next day was still too sick to leave my room. I looked up the menu online, the wasabi peas were not included in the ingredients on the gluten free version. Great. One simple procedure, to notify the kitchen of a gluten free customer would have prevented this. Note it in the order and have the chef come out to talk to the customer. All this other contact with people who will not handle the food is meaningless if the chef has no idea.

Good size GF menu. Wait staff double checked on things for me and the policy was that when there are any food allergies the manager delivers the food to the table personally.

The gluten free menu did have lots of options and I was excited about getting a burger on a gluten free bun, but even after ordering from the gluten free menu and telling my server that I have Celiac disease, there were croutons on the salad. While the server seemed attentive to the gluten free request, the kitchen is clearly not practicing food handling that is mindful of gluten cross contamination.

I did not have any Celiac Disease reactions at all after eating here so I know they are very careful with not cross contaminating. I highly recommend this restaurant!! 1. Had gluten free beer! (Glutenberg) Not just cider. Cider is cider, not beer. 2. Tons of GF options- gf buns, gf pizza, gf fried food- all cooked in a separate friolater to keep safe from cross contamination 3. Waitstaff told dedicated manager who made sure he watched and then delivered the food. Food was great! Felt safe and was like everyone else, able to eat just about everything. (Like gluten food didn't even exist.)

I have eaten here several times before games and the staff is always knowledgeable about allergies. They have an extensive GF menu, and can make almost anything GF. They have Udi's buns, pizza crust, beer, and a dedicated fryer. They also have GF onion rings and battered chicken fingers (however these do contain dairy). Since the fryer isn't safe for my dairy allergy, they cook fries and tater tots in the oven for me and they're just as good! I've yet to be disappointed with their food, I highly recommend stopping here!

I was really excited to go here. After a long trip with no gf options available I was ready for a big meal. I talked to the server about my intolerance (extremely sensitive celiac) and they seemed to know what they where doing. I was so happy I decided to order and angry orchard cider while waiting for my food. The drink came out and without thinking I took a quick gulp from the cup... It was beer.....iv been sick for a week now... Thanks guys! ..... I hope this business does a better job in the future of educating their staff on celiac disease and how to bring cider to those who order it .... Great food but if you're a celiac watch out!!

I had a great meal here after arriving at North Station en route to a destination with questionable GF options. Everyone I interacted with (hostess, server, manager) was extremely knowledgable about gluten free options and cross contamination and it's clearly something they take seriously. I had a more in-depth conversation with the manager, Sal, about kitchen practices and he inspired a lot of confidence. Plus, lunch was delicious. (I had the Southwestern BLT with sweet potato fries.) Definitely worthy of a return visit next time I'm in the area!

This place has an EXTENSIVE GF menu! So there are a ton of choices. Also, you can get French fries, sweet potato fries, tator tots, fried pickles, onion rings -- all the tasty fried foods that you typically cannot get! We had a burger & fries and it was great. Everyone loved their meals (steak tips, turkey tips, etc.). I would have given this place 5 stars but the one GF dessert which was the Greek Yogurt Brûlée was awful. We ordered 2 for the table and out of 7 people No One liked it. It was bad -- just like eating some Greek yogurt from the supermarket. So I don't recommend doing GF dessert there -- other than that everything was very good (drinks, appetizers, entrees and service). So all they need to do is offer a better GF dessert and this place would be 5 stars!
