I informed my server I was GF due to Celiac. She was knowledgeable and informed.. stated she would have items prepared in dedicated fryer. The onion rings were on the menu as gf.. I asked about the batter and they were prepared with crushed potato chips. The manager brought out my meal certifying it was prepared gf.
A lot of options (including fries!) safe for Celiac. I've been there 4+ times and have never had a reaction. The manager always brings out the gluten free meal separately. Never disappointed!

Almost the entire menu can be made gluten free! Prices are on the medium high side with an additional charge for gluten free buns, BUT it is worth every dollar!
Great burger joint and celiac friendly. I've eaten there a couple times and it has always been an enjoyable experience

excellent GF options. Waitress double checked everything for us. My teenage son with Celiac was able to have chicken wings, a burger with a bun and french fries. life is good

Great food, knowledgeable staff
I had a great experience here. We went as a group of four (3 of us have celiac and one eats gluten free to prevent the rest of us getting contaminated) and ordered fried calamari, crab fritters, pizza, and two sandwiches. Everything was DELICIOUS and nobody had any reaction.

So many options and everything is really good (by the standards of what it is, which is your basic American pub grub). Order gluten free and your food will be brought out by a supervisor to confirm it is what it should be.

Amazing! Competent staffs

Well, after having a bad experience at another location, I have been avoiding this chain. But recently was encouraged by a friend to give it try once more. At least at this Cambridge location, the staff appeared to be very knowledgeable, helpful and they say that there is always a dedicated fryer. I had a very good experience. So if I want to eat at a Tavern on the Square, I will go the extra miles to Cambridge. The staff and expanded menu made it worth the trip.

Tons of options. My waitress had Celiac which is always an extra layer of caution. Almost everything was gluten free on the menu, even buns and fried fish (which was delicious though the bun fell apart a bit). Dedicated fryer so could have not only breaded deep fried items, but also french fries. Yay! Two gluten free beers as well as ciders. Manager served me food. Very good. Waitress said pasta will be coming soon!

So many options! Careful though, no dedicated fryer even though fries are marked gluten free on the menu
I had a gluten free veg burger. The next day I experienced severe gastric distress which lasted several hours. I have celiac and it is dangerous for me to have it and I got a bellyful l of it at this location.NEVER again!!!

The manager brought me a salad with my dreams-encrusted tuna instead of my mashed potatoes and green beans, but I was do hungry I didn't care. At the bottom of the salad I found a bunch of wasabi peas. Although I have seen these in gluten-free form it's rare. I want suspicious until I got back to the hotel, when severe cramps and diarrhea cimmenced for the test of the evening. I had to cancel my plans for that evening and the next day was still too sick to leave my room.
I looked up the menu online, the wasabi peas were not included in the ingredients on the gluten free version. Great.
One simple procedure, to notify the kitchen of a gluten free customer would have prevented this. Note it in the order and have the chef come out to talk to the customer. All this other contact with people who will not handle the food is meaningless if the chef has no idea.
Got the turkey burger on gf roll... Very yummy! Server was nice, and made sure all food was OK. Only bad thing is that the fries are not safe.
Good size GF menu. Wait staff double checked on things for me and the policy was that when there are any food allergies the manager delivers the food to the table personally.
The gluten free menu did have lots of options and I was excited about getting a burger on a gluten free bun, but even after ordering from the gluten free menu and telling my server that I have Celiac disease, there were croutons on the salad. While the server seemed attentive to the gluten free request, the kitchen is clearly not practicing food handling that is mindful of gluten cross contamination.
i have eaten here and other locations a few times since getting diagnosed with celiac. this is one of the restaurants i feel the most comfortable ordering and eating at! the food is brought to the table with an allergy stick and separate from the other food. when ordering takeout, my food is also put in a separate bag and the containers are clearly labeled gluten free.

One of my favorite restaurants for about 10 years. Always enjoy it when I come back to town. Tons of gluten free options, included breaded and fried.

One of my favorites! Fried pickles, French fries, tater tots, chicken fingers can all be made gluten free in a separate fryer. The staff is so knowledgeable and makes me feel comfortable eating here every time. Highly recommend!!

Great food. Acknowledgment of my need to be strict Gluten free by the server. Confirmed separate deep fryer so no cross contamination. I ordered the burger and fries and it was cooked perfectly.
